Bonnie was lost. She lay on her back in a gray colored world not sure where she was at. Groaning she slowly picked herself up and rubbed her belly trying to comfort her unborn child. As she touched her stomach she noticed that she could barely fell the baby and grew worried. Why couldn't she feel her son?
Not wanting to panic and cause unwanted stress she looked around herself and before she could understand what was going on a young boy with long hair and a grubby face was standing in front of her. He was wearing clothing that she would usually see on covers of romance novels about Highlanders or Irish chieftain. As she looked at him she noticed that she looked familiar, but she couldn't place him.
As the boy looked at their surroundings he held out his hand and said, "Come, we don't have much time, love."
It was at that moment that she realized why he reminded her of someone, "You're his brother aren't you," she asked as she started to back away from him.
He smiled down at her and answered, "I am, but right now you need to trust me. We have to get you out of here before the others come." He looked her deep in the eyes and extended his hand out further, "Trust me, please," he pleaded. "If it helps you my name is Henrik, Bonnie."
Bonnie was hesitated as she looked at him surprised that he knew her name, but soon decided that it was best for her to follow him. "Where am I," she asked as she got up and looked around again.
"The Neither Realm. It's the place where the soul decides if it wants to live or die," Henrik explained as he grabbed her hand and started to walk away. "In the living world it's like being in a coma the more you stay here. Some people stay here for a while to decide if it's worth going back." He told her as he pulled her along.
Taken off guard by Henrik grabbing her hand and rushing her along Bonnie took in all the information he had given her and her mind went back to how she came to be here and for the life of her she could not. "How do I get out of here," she asked.
"You have to decide to go back," he answered simply.
"I do want to go back," she stated easily. She had to go back she had so many people waiting for her. She had her baby waiting for her. She had to live for him because if she died so did he and she could not live with that. "Show me how to get back."
Henrik looked back at Bonnie with a glance and then rolled his eyes, "That's what I have been trying to do, but you wouldn't let me. Now come we have to hurry. I can feel the others coming and your protectors can only hold them off for so long." He told her as he picked up his pace forcing her to keep up with him.
They rushed along and after a while Bonnie started to feel uneasy and she could tell so did the boy. He began to run and so did she since they were still holding hands. "What's going on," she asked as they ran faster and faster.
"The others are after you. The ones against the Bennett line. They know you are here. If they can pull you to the Other Side they will win, but if I and your protectors can send you back then there is a greater possibility of the Balance coming back."
As they ran further she saw figures trying to surround them. She heard the chants and incantations in low murmurs and then she heard a spell slip from the boy's lips and watched as a dark figure collapse not too far from them. Looking around she saw that some of the figure had broken through and as one rushed them she uttered a spell and watched as the figure turned to dust.
While they ran and did spells fighting off their attackers Bonnie noticed that they were not alone. She could see others fighting as well holding of the spirits that were after them. As she ran by she recognized one of them as Emily. "Emily," she shouted out.
Emily gave her a quick glance. "Keep going," she shouted back and then went back to fighting the three dark figures before her.
"Come on. Keep moving," Henrik yelled back to her.
They were running into the forest now; deeper and deeper. It was at that moment when the figures were all around them and she knew that there was a chance she may not make it.
Back at the Bennett house Shelia comforted her daughter as she cried. "Shhh, now. Stop it. Crying is not going to help her. Pull it together." Looking to her grandson as Abby tried to stop crying she asked, "Is it true, Jamie? Is she dead?"
"No, I can still feel her. Though she is close to dying. She's in the Neither Realm," he explained.
Upon hearing the news Shelia took a sharp breath through her nose. "Okay, okay," she repeated while nodding her head. "There's hope. She can make it back. Quick Jamie we need a way to help her," she stated as she slowly released Abby from her arms.
"How? How can we help her," Rudy jumped in as he looked at the three magically beings in front of him.
"We will have to find a way to contact one of our ancestors on the other side. They will be able to help us find out what's going on with Bonnie. Get some water, candles, and my bag," Shelia told her son in law. Rudy listened to Shelia and did what she said. As he was rushing getting the things that she needed he hoped that they would be able to save his daughter.
As the figures surrounded them they began to take shape as people. As they got closer she could tell that they were passed supernatural beings and for some reason they wanted to take her life when she was meant to bring balance. She could not allow that to happen and without saying or doing anything outwardly she chanted a spell in her head and like a blast that rippled from her body the figures dropped. Stunned at what she was able to do she turned towards Henrik who had a smile on his face.
"Nice," was all he uttered before he took the hand he was holding still and tugged indicating to her that they had to continue on.
Has they ran deeper into the forest Bonnie wondered what was going on back in the land of the living. Did an all-out battle happen and if so, who was killed if any? She was scared for her loved ones and she didn't know if they were okay or not.
"How much longer," she asked.
"Not much, we're almost there," he answered without turning around.
After running for hours it seemed to Bonnie, but were only minutes they skidded to a holt. Bonnie's feet slid under her has she tried to stop herself from stumbling from the cliff to the churning water that was fueled by raging waterfalls hundreds of feet below.
"No, of hell no," she uttered in disbelief. "I am not jumping in that," she said after she was able to right herself.
Henrik looked her in the eyes and told her, "But you have to; it's the only way out of here. You have to have the faith that you will make it back to the land of the living and by jumping off this cliff to the waters below will be that test of faith."
She just stared at him with her mouth open. "You can't be serious," she asked, still not believing that it was the only way out.
"It is. You told me that you trust me, so please trust me. It's the only way out," he answered. In the distance he could hear the sounds of people getting closer. "Hurry they are coming again," he said as he grabbed her arm and pulled her to the edge. Then taking one last look at her he asked, "Can you do something for me."
"Yes," was the only thing that came out her mouth as she looked between him, the tress and the raging water.
"Can you tell my family that I love them and that I am always watching over them? Tell them that I am not ashamed of them and that I love them good or bad. And…and tell Niklaus that it was never his fault."
Bonnie smiled at the boy before her. "I can," she responded.
"Oh and one more thing; can you name him after me?"
When she stared deeply into his eyes she knew that she could not deny him this one simple request. "I can and I will," she stated.
The boy gave her a full on grin before it faded and he looked towards the forest once more. "Hurry, you must go," he rushed her.
Giving him a quick hug and kissed Bonnie decided at that moment that she did trust him and taking a few steps back to get a running start she jumped from the cliff. As she started to freefall she yelled, "Thank you and this is not goodbye."
Grinning at the fact that she trusted him in the end he yelled back, "You are welcome and I know." At the end of his sentence he turned back to the supernaturals that were before him. "It's too late. You lost."
A witch with dark as night hair and eyes and pale white skin smirked and stated, "We may have lost this round, boy, but remember this; she is not yet mated fully to that abomination that you call a brother which means she can still be killed."
"That may be true, but you forget; she's a Bennett and Mikaelson which means we'll never give up."
The witch and boy stared at each other and the boy knew without a doubt that Bonnie would come on top as long as his brother protected her and became one with his nature.
Shelia was chanting a spell when all of a sudden there was a loud sonic boom that rattled the house. It was like an earthquake erupted and just like that she knew that Bonnie was alive. So she directed her chanting and did a location spell. "She's in the woods not too far from the witches' house. We need to go," she told them as she got up from her seat and went to the front door of her house.
Abby who had just gotten her powers back looked towards her mother in wonder as she walked towards the door as well. "It's so weird that I can feel her yet so amazing at the same time. I can feel both my babies," she spoke in wonder.
Rudy smiled at her as he and Jamie walked out the door with the two women. He was happy at that moment that his family was fine and that Bonnie was alive, but he wouldn't be totally okay until he got to hold his baby girl in his arms making she sure was alive and unharmed. "Let's go and find," he said as he followed his mother in law into the woods in front of her house. He couldn't wait for the worry to be over.
