Ginny smirked at the olive skinned man standing in front of her desk, then performed a silent and wandless charm turning him into one of his tap dancing toads, only gold, and sporting a red glittery tutu. The entire class lost control of themselves, even Professor Snape had smirked at the sight. She then levitated the newly transfigured toad to join the other toads on Snape's desk.

Picking up her bag, Ginny headed for the door in a flash of red. There was no reason to stay where she had just been humiliated if the Gryffindorks couldn't gather enough self-control so that Snape could actually hold a proper class. Fuming, she strutted down the hallway and stumbled upon a couple having a fight just outside the dungeons. Realizing that it was none other than Ron and Luna, she quickly hid behind a statue.

She heard Ron mumble something to Luna, and peeked her head out from her hiding place just far enough to see them. Ron had his hands on her shoulders, obviously meant to be a calming gesture. Luna shrugged them off rather violently and began to rant.

"RONALD BILIUS WEASLEY, why on earth would you think that's what Dumbledore meant by getting close to Ginny? He only wanted to know if she was still on our side! There were plenty of ways to find out what side she is really on without trying to harass her! You've probably scared her back into Voldemort's good graces now that she thinks you're interested in her," Luna shrieked at her red faced boyfriend. If you thought getting Molly Weasley upset was bad, it had nothing on Luna's anger. Her normally pale face was flushed Gryffindor red, and you could feel her rage from ten feet away due to the amount of magic coursing through her veins.

Ron cowered before his girlfriend, stuttering, trying to explain his thinking.

"You could have regained her friendship, for example," Luna continued, stepping up so that she was in her boyfriend's face. "You could have kept acting like she was your sister, even! I cannot believe that you thought hitting on her was the only way to go about this! You're such a prat, Ronald."

Ron continued stuttering, his eyes on his shoes.

"Well, come talk to me when you regain your ability to hold a conversation, I'm late for Transfiguration," the blonde snapped. With that she turned on her heel and took a deep breath, then turned back around, and leaned up and kissed his cheek.

"You're such an idiot sometimes," she grinned, and then she took off running toward the other side of the castle. Ginny held her breath while Ron walked past her mumbling about confusion on the way down to the Potions classroom, then she stepped out from behind the statue and headed for her favorite spot by the lake. After the day she'd had so far, all she wanted was to sit out under the sun and breathe in the fresh air.

As she neared her favorite tree, she saw a single deep red rose, pinned to a Slytherin green glittering arrow on the tree. Next to the rose, there was a note with her name on it. "Follow me," the note read. Looking at where the arrow pointed, she saw another one, only silver and glittering, on the base of the tree pointing to another green arrow on the ground, pointing to another silver arrow a little around the bend of the lake. Out of curiosity, she followed the arrows to find more of them. The arrows led her back into the castle, then twisted around past the stairs to the Gryffindor common room, where she found a pair of silver stilettos with her name pinned onto them. Unable to be frustrated any longer, she let out a giggle, wondering who would go through all this trouble to give her a rose and some shoes. Even more arrows led her up to the Astronomy tower, to find a silver tiara that matched the shoes perfectly. Finally, the arrows led her back down toward the dungeons.

On the portrait leading into the Slytherin common room, she found another single red rose. She whispered the password, and the door opened. She stepped into the common room to find it lit up by only the fireplace and candlelight. Over by the fireplace, she saw a large bouquet of roses with another note pinned onto it. She rushed over, nearly tripping herself in her excitement.

"Turn around."

She turned, and found herself face to face with none other than the Slytherin Prince himself.

"Dray," she grinned.

"Hello, beautiful," he whispered. "Did you enjoy your scavenger hunt?"

"Yes, the flowers are lovely," she began, only to be cut off by Draco's index finger brushing against her lips.

"I wasn't quite finished yet," he smirked, "Ginevra Minerva Gaunt, will you do me the honor of accompanying me to the Halloween Ball?"

"I would be delighted, Mr. Malfoy," she grinned.
