The entrance to the Great Hall was buzzing with students trying to find their dates amid a mixture of fairies, Vikings, goblins, muggle movie stars, and witches. Though there was the option to wear semi-formal clothing, it seemed that everyone had decided to dress up instead.

Colin was flitting from one group to the next with a bright white sheet over his head with two eye holes cut out, taking pictures of everyone he could get to stop for a few moments, yelling out that he was working for the yearbook in an attempt to get the attention of random groups of students.

Pushing down the camera he had shoved into his face, Draco glanced at his watch while he tugged at his costume.Bloody woman always has to make an entrance, he thought to himself. Ginevra had taken it upon herself to decide that they should go as muggle themed vampires, and Draco had wanted to dress up as British royalty.

Naturally, here he stood with his teeth magically sharpened into fangs, his hair charmed to have blood red streaks, and nothing but a pair of ripped black jeans on his body as he tried to explain very clearly to Blaise that he wasn't wearing a shirt because it was hot, not because Ginny and Pansy had picked out his outfit. Bloody women and their costume choices.

As far as Draco was concerned, Blaise could poke fun all he wanted, at least he had a date while Blaise was going stag. It also opened the door to poke fun at Blaise's own ripped shirt and pants in his attempt at an inferi costume. He had to give Blaise credit on the carefully applied makeup though, he could easily be mistaken for a corpse if Draco didn't know any better.

"I don't know why you didn't just ask Greengrass. It never mattered to you before that you both didn't want a commitment," Draco shrugged. "Why is it suddenly a problem?"

"That's not the problem. I just decided she couldn't give me what I'm after," Blaise shrugged. "I got out of it before she expected us to be anything other than what she really was."

"What are you…" Draco trailed off as he spotted Ginevra making her way down the staircase, her blood red hair straightened at her sides.

"We're not done with this…" he trailed off again as his eyes trailed down her body, taking in her dark green corseted bodycon dress that shimmered with every step, from the sweetheart neckline to the cutoff at her mid-thigh. The shoes that had been gifted to her during her scavenger hunt graced her feet, and perfectly matched her diamond teardrop earrings. Her teeth had also been magically sharpened, accented by the blood red lipstick on her lips. She paused at the foot of the stairs to take in the now silent entrance hall.

Draco smirked as Ginevra reached the foot of the stairs and held his arm out to her, followed by Blaise on her other side. She grinned, and allowed her friends to lead her into the Hall while Draco attempted to throw a glare in Blaise's direction, not missing the way he kept glancing toward the stage as they made their way through the crowd.

The front of the room where the professors normally took their meals had been transfigured into a stage, and the house tables had been lined up around the edges of the hall to provide seating and snack areas. On the stage was Dean Thomas, who happened to be playing DJ for the night in a muggle themed wizard costume. Inside the hall near the middle of the dance floor the teens met up with Pansy and Cho, dressed as a patient and a nurse, respectively. Pansy seemed quite enthused with the idea of being covered in fake blood, and even had Ginny transfigure a fake vampire bite onto her shoulder so that all of their costumes tied in together. The boys braved the crowd to snag a few glasses of punch as the rest of the school trickled in and started to mingle with their respective friend groups.

After finishing a couple of glasses of punch the group made their way out to the dance floor with their classmates as the girls stopped every few feet to compliment someone on their choices of costumes. After every other song the group switched out partners so that nobody left Blaise standing alone, and after a few rounds through the group a leather-clad Hermione pushed her way into the cycle in an attempt to get away from Harry, much to the amusement of Blaise.

"Who in the world convinced you to be a streetwalker" laughed the Italian as the witch slapped his arm lightly in response.

"I'm cat woman" exclaimed Hermione, pointing at the ears on the top of her bushy head. "Fred suggested it. He's chaperoning, he just went to break Ron apart from Luna when Harry found me."

At that moment Luna ran through the center of the dance floor in a gemstone encrusted bra and black shorts, with a crown of feathers on her head yelling about the infestation of Snorkacks that must have spiked the punch bowl, because it certainly wasn't her or Ronald.

"You'll never get anyone to extinguish them, you see. They had to work with the nargles to get away with it," she yelled out to her friends as she circled the group, then dashed through the other side of the crowd with a normally dressed Professor Snape and a spandex clad Fred dressed as Superman right behind her.

"She's bloody brilliant, isn't she," laughs Ron as he grabs Harry by the arm and dashes off after them.

"Well, as fun as this is, I think we should move this party on up to the common room before they get ahold of Luna," Ginny yells out to the group, grabbing Hermione and Pansy, then dashing out of the Hall towards the dungeons.
