I'm soooooooooo sorry about being away from this story for so long! Ehhh I'm now obsessed with Hamilton fan-fictions... Anyway, please review and junk, and maybe suggest plot points or story elements? Forgive me, you guys are the only reason I write. And also, Lapizza, I won't change the names. ;) They might be called different things as nicknames from other gems, though.

Amethyst was running behind her friend, Ruby, through the playground. The purple gemling's long off-white hair was flying trough the air as she ran with bare feet through the wood chips. Ruby, determined to win the friendly race, sprinted ahead, her frizzy, cube-like afro bobbing.

"Hey, Ruby, isn't that Sapphire?" Amethyst asked the red gem as they came to a stop.

Ruby scoffed and rolled her eyes. "Sapphire? Ugh, why does she always hang out at the park? The park is for cool gems, like us."

Amethyst and Ruby stared at Sapphire from afar, while the blue gem sat on the swings, reading a book. She spent about ten seconds on every page, flying through the novel as if it were a picture book. She was wearing a light blue blouse with a navy skirt. She somehow could see through her turquoise bangs. Sapphire looked up, and was surprised to see the duo.

"Oh, greetings." She called to them.

"Hey there Saffy!" Amethyst called, waving. She was friends with Sapphire, despite Ruby's intolerance for the gem.

"Hello, Amethyst," Sapphire laughed. She stood up and placed her book on the seat of the swing. "Hello, Ruby." She said, in a much less cheerful voice.

"What's up." Ruby retorted, rolling her eyes.

"Hey, you guys, why can't we all get along? You are both my friends, so why can't you also be friends?" Amethyst butted into the bickering that she knew was about to erupt. The purple gem stood there and looked at cute for a moment, before the ruby and the sapphire sighed.

"Fine." Ruby pouted.

"I'll try," Sapphire stated.

Amethyst's face lit up with a smile. "See? It's not hard! Now, how about we all go and find Rose, and we can hang out?"

Ruby and Sapphire exchanged glances, before nodding.

"Yes! Okay now we're all buddies!" Amethyst cheered as she pulled the gems into a tight neck hold, which was an excuse for a hug. "Now, let's go!"
