It was easy to remember. She had only been made a few days ago.

- Start Flashback -

She had been in her exit hole for what seemed like forever. It was finally time for her to emerge. Using her weak water wings, she broke free of her exit hole. "Hello..? Is anyone here?" She called out. Looking over, she saw the Diamond symbol. Pink, blue, yellow, and white.

I must be in Blue Diamond's Court, she thought. All thoughts disappeared as a cracking sound rang through the kindergarten. Lapis turned to her right to see another gem emerging. She stood close, but not close enough to scare the new gem. Lapis wished to meet her.

The new gemling emerged. She was green, with yellow, Dorito shaped hair. Definitely not an Emerald. Emeralds are supposed to be beautiful, Lapis told herself. "Hi, who are you?" Asked Lapis, stepping into sight.

"Um…. Peridot."

"Nice to meet you Peridot! I'm-" Lapis was cut off by Peridot.

"You're a Lapis Lazuli. Anyone would know that." Lapis felt a bit hurt by what Peridot had said. Apparently, it showed. Peridot tried to make up for what she said. "I'm supposed to know every gem easily. Peridots are supposed to be kindergarteners." Peridot walked over to the Diamond symbol. "I'm in Yellow Diamond's Court. You're in Blue Diamond's, correct?"

"Yes." She's pretty intelligent. I mean, she just came out of her exit hole, and she already knows my gem AND my Court, Lapis thought, amazed by Peridot's intelligence.

"So, how long have you been made?"

Lapis went back to reality, noticing that Peridot had asked her a question. "What? Oh, not long. About a minute."

The two gemlings looked at the ground. Lapis looked at Peridot. "You're so small."

Peridot glared at Lapis. "Well, I'm going to be the best Peridot, and then I'm going to get limb enhancers, and I WON'T be small!" Peridot went from offended to determined in seconds.

Silence. "We should go to our Courts." Said Peridot, looking away from Lapis.

"Yeah, bye!"

Peridot seemed hesitant to answer. "…. Bye Lazuli. Maybe we'll see each other again one day."

Lapis walked off. The whole time she thought of Peridot.

"LAPIS!" Lapis looked up to see Blue Diamond's Pearl, Blue Pearl.

"AHH!" Lapis fell forward, accidentally throwing herself into the water.

"Here, let me help you." Blue Pearl put her hand out for Lapis.

"No, thanks. I can handle things myself." Successfully summoning her water wings, she flew out of the water.

"Are you ok Lapis? I saw you over here, so I asked if I could come over. I've tried to get your attention for about a minute now."

Lapis blushed. "Sorry. I've been….. Daydreaming."

"Would you like to tell me about it? Or is it personal?" Asked Blue Pearl.

"I'd rather not say…"

"Oh, ok. Well, I need to get back to Blue Diamond. Bye!" Blue Pearl walked away. Blue Pearl and Lapis were very close friends so far. Blue Pearl always helped Lapis. To Lapis, Blue Pearl was her older sister. Lapis stood up, walking away from the waterfall.
