Disclaimer: I don't own pokemon.

-Dawn's POV-

"Care to tell us why you decided to catch up with us?" I asked immediately after the lads set up the tent and the bonfire.

We all gathered everything while Isabelle and May created tents for all of us.

The rest of us looked at Drew, Gary, Misty and Leaf as they looked at each other, silently comunicating.

"Don't you think it's unfair that Isabelle and I get to hear your thoughts but nit the others?" May asked as she ate Isabelle's share of ramen.

We all looked at her, confused.

Isabelle caught on so she raised her eyebrows and looked at us. "How bout this, we'll compromise. You'll tell us why and we'll tell you how." She said as she looked at the other four.

They nodded.

"You see, after you left..."

-Flashback-

We were all sitting there, figuring out what just happened.

"Alright, I can't take this anymore!" Misty blurted out as she glared at Drew and I.

I looked at her as she paced back and forth.

"I don't know with you guys but I think those girls speak the truth and right now, they walked out on us with danger tailing them. We have to follow them!" She added.

"Those girls have powers..." Leaf said, standing up. "They have the answers right there! I need to know why I have anger issues... Or why is the earth crumbling whenever I'm mad." Leaf persuaded us.

I turned to look at Drew.

"Well?" I asked him.

He looked at us. I almost gasped in surprise to see his usual calm eyes with something else.

Worry.

Anxiety.

Guilt.

and most of all, Longing.

"My sister is dead." He mumbled. "She's supposed to be dead after long years of searching, my parents decided to give up. I haven't seen her for years and now, your grandfather is hinting me about something. I need to go to your grandfather." He mumbled, making us scared than ever.

Eventually, we decided to go to gramps' study only to see it in chaos.

"Gramps?"

He turned around sharply at us. "Gary? How... I thought Isabelle and-"

"We turned their offer down." Leaf cut him off.

His eyes widened and looked at us with hurt in his eyes. "But why did you do that? I specifically told Isabelle to bring you with them!" He raised his voice.

We were taken aback. Grandfather never raises his voice. Not ever especially with me.

Drew stepped forward and looked at him in the eye. "We will leave as soon as you tell me the truth. Is my sister alive?"

We watched silently as Gramps looked at Drew.

"I thought you're a smart boy. Why haven't you figured it out yet? Same surname, same hair color... You have to admit, her eyes looked just like your mother's..."

Drew's fist curled into ball. "So...you're saying..."

He looked at him feeling remorse. "If only you can see the pain you gave her. If only you can see how much she's dying to tell you yet she can't for fear of rejection and , Drew. Isabelle is your sister."

Our eyes widened with the revelation of my grandfather.

Drew took a step back, digesting every information he was told as the jewels started to light up.

I don't know much about gems but I do know the names.

Aquamarine.

Kunzite.

Sapphire.

Ruby.

Amethyst.

Those were the jewels that were lit.

"No..."

"What's happening, Professor?" Leaf asked in panic.

He turned to face us.

"They are in danger."

It took Drew those four words to snap him back to reality. Drew's deathly calm face scared the three of us, nonetheless we stood there as if nothing bad will happen.

He looked at me as he tossed me my backpack, gestured for Misty, Leaf and I to hold hands.

What is he up to?

He smirked as he got his backpack with him (Don't ask. I don't know where he got it either) and held my hand.

"Run Oak." He ordered. "Run as fast as you can." He mumbled.

My necklace lit up as I took off, running like the speed of light.

Misty screamed while Leaf just shouted in glee.

"Now this is what I'm talking about! Go Gary!"

I smiled as she cheered for me.

"Where are we even going?" I asked Drew.

He was silent for a moment before looking at the clearing.

"Go that way." He ordered.

"Are you sure?" I asked him.

He just nodded.

Luckily, we arrived at the scene only to see Isabelle jumped out of Rayquaza.

I need not look at Drew to see his priceless reaction.

"Gary, if you don't save my sister, I'll have your head in a silver platter and you will regret it." He said in a deathly tone.

I sweatdropped at the possibility.

He and the ladies released their hold from me so I ran faster and caught Isabelle.

-End of Flashback-

We looked at Gary after he finished his story.

So, all this time Isabelle is Drew's sister?

I looked at Isabelle who is busy conjuring snowflakes as her feet are making swirls and patterns of frost.

"Isabelle is my sister..." Drew concluded. "...Basically she's ..."

"Yours and Paul's relative." I finished his sentence.

"Cute." Isabelle mumbled, sarcastically. I could tell that she doesn't want attention drawn to her.

I looked at May.

"How long have you known that?" I asked her.

"Ever since we saw you. The hints are pretty obvious." She replied.

Wow...

Silence engulfed us.

"Well?" Isabelle spoke up, making us look at her, her snowflakes are already gone.

"Do you want to know how or what?" She asked.

I tilted my head in confusion.

May cleared her throat making me turn to her. 'She's asking if you wanted to learn how to obtain full control over your powers...'

I smiled and nodded, gleefully.

"We all have special abilities in our veins that only us can create." She explained as she nodded at May.

"May is the descendant of Michelle. So she inherited the Hoenn guardian's abilities which includes telepathy and pyrokinesis."

Wait, what?

"Pyro-what?" I asked.

"Pyrokinesis." Logan repeated. "It means fire controller." He translated.

May beamed at him, and held out her hand only to see spirals of flames that her hands were releasing.

"Fire can't be the only destruction there is." May mumbled, hugging her knees with her unused arm while the other is continuously doing tricks. "It brings life and hope. But mine can spark up determination." She said as the fire died down.

Isabelle nodded as she looked at me. "Dawn is the descendant of Danielle. The Sinnoh guardian. Her abilities are Pathokinesis and Telekinesis." She explained.

"Which explains her ability to control any emotions, manipulate it or implant new emotions at someone. Telekinesis however is to-"

"-control any mass of objects." Misty said.

She looked at the fiery-headed girl and sighed. "That is correct, Waterflower."

"You can call me Misty if you like." She offered.

Isabelle was taken aback yet she hadn't saud anything.

I looked at anything in particular and motioned for Gary's tent to crumble down.

He looked at me, jawdropped.

"Revenge for that slime thing on my head." I said, smirking.

"What the heck, Dawn?! That was years ago!"

I just stuck my tongue out at him.

"Real mature."

"Logan's ability includes illusions." Isabelle told us, making him look at her.

"Wha? How?" He asked her.

Since they are sitting beside each other, Isabelle took Logan's hand into hers making me squeal in delight.

If they had heard it, they paid no attention to me. While Drew's death glares are piercing Logan.

Within few minutes, Logan's eyes snapped shut as reality seemed to crumble down.

I frantically looked around only to see that we are back at the Academy.

What?!

When I looked again, we were back at our camp site.

Whoa... Logan is really good.

Isabelle proceeded to drop his hand but he just held onto it tighter. She didn't seem to mind so she went ahead.

I inwardly grinned at the two of them.

Of course, I ain't blind when it comes to Logan's shyness whenever Isabelle is around. He even told me that he had a crush on her for as long as he can remember.

Now that Drew knows that she's his sister, I advice Logan to watch out for Drew...

"As you can all recall, Gary's ability is to run at the speed of light." She continued.

"Last to reveal their ability is my dear brother." Isabelle said, making us look at Drew.

"What?" He asked.

"Drew can control his molecular density allowing him to be as hard as a concrete or as sift as a cotton. He can phase from one object to another." She explained, waving at Drew to demonstrate it.

His eyebrows furrowed and looked at Isabelle as if they were engaged in a silent conversation.

At last, he sighed and leaned towards the fire and phased through it.

"No way!" Leaf and I exclaimed simultaneously.

He looked at Isabelle for approval only to have her nod.

"But what about them?" I asked her, diverting her attention to the unmentioned.

She titlted her head as she looked at them, figuring them out. "I don't know."

"What?!" Misty and Leaf cried, standing up simultaneously. "What do you mean you don't know?"

Isabelle gave them a dead look. "I. Don't. Know." She said, playing with her necklace that was formerly Drew's.

"Look. Just because I've been trained all my life doesn't mean I know everything there is to know. You have to figure it out first before I explain to you what you can do. For the mean time, do you want to know why on earth I tamed Rayquaza and why Drew's his master?"

We all nodded at her so she showed us her pokéballs. May did the same.

"Don't let the exterior fool you. They seemed to be normal pokéballs but they are empty once you threw them. They exist only for the guardians to call out their mentors." she explained.

"The first ever guardian who had successfully is Lillian. The guardian of Unova. Translation: Leaf's ancestor." May explained as she handed Leaf a pokéball that looked like a rock.

Leaf nervously glanced at her. "What will I do with this?" She asked.

Before May could answer, Isabelle stepped in. "Why don't you watch May first?" She asked her.

Leaf just nodded while May reached for her own pokéball and threw it as high as she can.

The empty pokéball opened and fell back into May's awaiting hands, dissolving it with fire and out came Jirachi.

We all were shocked at what happened.

"How-"

May hugged the said pokémon as if they hadn't met for so long. "How have you been, Jira?"

Jirachi smiled at her before noticing us. She looked at us with confusion as May stepped forward.

"This is Jirachi. The wish maker. She is the companion of the former and current Hoenn guardian." May explained. "She doesn't do battles much since she's much peaceful than the others so I only call for her whenever I needed companionship." She then turned to her pokémon. "Jira, these are the new guardians." She introduced.

Jirachi flew towards me and studied my face. She smiled whe. She sensed that I can be trusted like the former guardian.

"Being a guardian meant that you can't actually battle someone on your own. You need help so Arceus brought the legendaries to us as a gift." She explained as she patted Jirachi's head as she flew over her shoulder. "But in order to gain your legendaries, you needed trust, confidence and faith. You need to influence and convince them that you are worth the trouble. That you deserve their protection, companionship and trust. Like what Drew did to his main companion."

"Wait, so we have other legendaries aside from the main ones?" Leaf asked.

May looked at Isabelle before looking back at her as she motioned for her to release the pokéball. "Before you call forth your companion, you need to regain your emotions. You need to show that you are ready to be his or her companion until death consume you."

Leaf sighed as she threw the pokéball the same manner May did and caught it. Instead of flames, it transformed into an ordinary, heavy rock. However, Leaf doesn't looked like she is having a hard time holding it.

Silence.

All of the sudden something white was seen at the sky. May and Isabelle's faces lit up and shouted the name of the pokémon in harmony.

"Reshiram!"

Wait, what?

I looked at Leaf only to have her frozen onto her spot as if she was looking straight into a dream.

'It's nice to see you again, May... Isabelle.' It spoke through our heads as it look for a person.

"Whoa, it can talk?!" Ash asked as he rushed towards its side however, Reshiram immediately released blue fire, preventing Ash from going near towards the thing.

'I am a female thank you very much.' it- I mean, She said.

She turned to the duo. 'You dare to let me reveal myself to these imbeciles?'

"With all due respect, Rei-rei, they aren't...ordinary." May defended us.

What the? Does she always has nicknames for these pokémons?

Reshiram looked at Isabelle for confirmation. 'So it's true then. You found the rightful guardians?' She asked.

Isabelle nodded and looked at Leaf who looked like she wanted to pass out anytime however she gulped and went forward.

'Pray tell, who is this?' Reshiram's motherly voice asked as Leaf started to go forward.

I can pretty much tell that this is the type of pokémon who doesn't want to deal with any humans so I think gaining her trust is very hard.

Tough luck, Leaf.

"My name is Leaf Green. I believe I am the descendant of Lillian. The guardian of Unova."

'Ah... The girl who managed to gain my trust just by looking into her eyes. Yes, I remember her. Being her descendant doesn't mean I can be easily swayed unlike Rayquaza. I may looked gentle but my trust isn't easily gained.' She said looking at Drew who had his smirk on.

Oh Drew...

'So tell me mortal, what makes you think that I will be your companion? Have you gained control of your abilities yet? Have you saved Isabelle from harm? Have you figured out that you are a guardian and had accepted it with your whole life?'

I looked at Leaf, nervous of what will she say. I know Leaf pretty well that she doesn't do polite. She hated being questioned and always getting frustrated at little things. She has anger management issues, for Arceus' sake! How is it that she can be able to gain the trust of this pokémon?

"I'm not special." Leaf started making us gasp. What is she trying to do? Kill us? This is a legendary pokémon! How can she defend herself from it?

"I can't be as gifted as Isabelle or as compassionate as May. I don't have what it takes to gain your trust easily like Drew did and I have yet to figure out what the heck is my ability. I have anger management issues and I don't like to be polite. I hate myself and most of all, I have no interest in becoming a guardian until recentky when May had shown her powers as well as Isabelle. So you see, I have flaws. Flaws that only mortals do, flaws that make me more human. Nonetheless, I have summoned you in hopes to figure out the truth... To figure out the real me. I did not join because of the sake of humanity. I joined because I wanted to seek who I am... To gain fully control of myself. I cannot save Isabelle because I know she's the strongest among all of us but I'm there whenever she needs me." Leaf said as she took a deep breath and sighed. "Yes, I do not deserve you, I don't deserve all of these for I have flaws that make me who I am today."

Her necklace lit as Reshiram's body lit up but Leaf paid no attention to those.

"Belle said that legendaries are our companions... Our mentors. So I called you, I sought you out in hopes of you guiding me. I know Belle had a lot of things in her plate now so I'm asking a huge favor. Though I don't know if you are able to choose me. I wanted to gain your trust because I know that even though I have flaws, I know that I can change them. That I can be a better person." Leaf concluded.

I looked back at Reshiram who is now glowing white... Pure white.

"What's going on?" I asked May.

"Relax, Dawn." She said.

Wind blew all over the place, ruining my hairdo for today. "What the?

"Stand back!" Logan yelled. Making me oblige although I hated it.

'You've proven yourself, child. Not even Lillian had convinced me.' Reshiram said as she nuzzled Leaf with her face.

As the glow died, Leaf passed out completely unto Gary's waiting arms.

Reshiram growled sending stars above us to shower down unto us.

'Let the stars witness what happened tonight. Let it be known that I, Reshiram, ruler of Unova choose this girl to be her companion until death claims her.'

Reshiram looked at Isabelle and May. 'I have chosen well, haven't I?'

The two girls have their proud smiles and nodded.

For a brief moment, I saw the pokémon smile with honor but i think that's hallucinations for me.

'Take care of her, Garrett Oak. She's now under my supervision so if you do anything to hurt her, I'll make sure you won't see the daylight again.'

Gary stared at the pokémon, feeling uneasy. "Yes, ma'am!" He said.

I tried to fight the urge of laughing at his horror-stricken face.

'Very well. I shall rest for now. Are the other guardians ready to face their companions?'

We all mumbled different excuses and all seeing as what she did really frightened all of us.

'Thought so.'

And with that, Reshiram left.

We all looked at the amused lady Hayden and glared at her.

"What?"

"Next time, give us a warning about those pokémon." I said, hitting the back of her head. She grinned at me. "Afraid, Berlitz?"

"You wish, Hayden."

"That's enough." Misty scolded us. "Go to sleep we still have a long day tomorrow. Right?"

May nodded. "Tomorrow's the start if your training and you have to gain the trust of the other legendaries." She said before going to her tent.

I sweatdropped at the possibility then looked at Leaf, who was being carried by Gary.

I smiled knowing that our broken girl had finally made a friend.
