The legend of the true sage

Sun Wukong had lived for millennias serving the vedic gods even now he was the right hand of the king of gods after all. In his vast experiences he had learned truths that the mythos kept hidden for so long. He remembered his encounter with War the red horseman of the nephilim, it was the time when the truth became visible to him.

"Ever since the time of creation the two kingdoms had discovered something very unique, the energy that sustained the two races of being was finite and the energy of creation that the gods used or the chaos energy the filled hell spawn dwindled after every use. No way to replenish their ranks even as wars plagued them. Soon enough the need to find a new power source became over powering"

Naruto was growing bored with all this history lessons,on one hand he would never have believed the odd yokai had it not been for the total lack of negative emotions from him. "Continue a little faster would you?" he grumbled only for the yokai to grin a cheeky grin.

"No one actually remembers who was it that found the third kingdom but soon enough it became apparent that mortal souls hold the power to replenish the divine energy of the creation. From there the secret wars began, gods against children of underworld, eons passed and they found the proper ways to manipulate the mortals. Even now every mythos except the old One eyed draws their power from the billions of mortal souls in this realm, God and Devil may wear different colors but both seek the souls of mortals."

Naruto hadn't expected it, the lines in the sand were blurring, it made no sense to him. "Does it not explain why we couldn't sense chakra among the men, the physical energy merged with soul energy creates chakra if you lose one fraction you lose it all." Kurama's voice was calm in a way he had expected it but even he wasn't ready for what came next.

"These younglings here seek to stop the harvest of souls to give humans back their full power, to fulfil the prophecy" the old yokai spoke once more.

"Prophecy what prophecy?" Naruto asked his mind reeling with all the information that he just received, it made a sick kind of sense. Giving the power back to the humans was appealing to him the return of the chakra was the goal he was seeking ever since his resurrection but with chakra came strife, he was orphan because man wanted more power, thousands were orphaned because shinobi wanted war. Jiraiya once told him the nightmares that haunted him, in an attempt to flush out the enemy shinobi that were supposedly hiding inside the forest he had used the strongest fire jutsu based on the faith on the intel but once the fire died the only corpses were of a family of refugees hiding there to survive the war.

'Maybe the world is better the way it is without us, maybe old man Rikodu made a mistake in creating ways of ninjutsu' Kurama spoke and Naruto had nothing to say. He had seen less than twenty years and yet he had seen rivers run red.

"What of the shinobi Goku, which gods led us to our ruin or was it the whispers of the underworld that filled my land with carnage."

Cao Cao was having hard time following the conversation between two sages scratch that he had hard time believing that the other sage was a human. It was unfathomable how powerful this newcomer was taking on three trained sacred gear weilders who have defeated both devils and angels. Still the last comment drew his attention to the conversation, he had never heard so much bitterness and that made him wonder just what the sage had faced.

His thoughts fled as the blue eyes fixed on him, "you should go now, my friends are coming and I don't want a fight here not now"

Cao Cao nodded before signalling the wobbly mage to activate the teleportation circles. "We will meet again but that time I will have answers" the words reached the leader of the hero squad even as time and space warped around him.

"That was a good choice of words" the monkey king spoke he could also sense the approaching young devils but it was just another reminder that the one standing beside him was much more adept in the ways of senjutsu than he was.

"Why? Why did you save them?" Naruto spoke totally ignoring the previous comment made by the old monkey.

"What do you mean great sage? They never were in any danger at all. You weren't going to hurt humans" Sun Wukong replied cheerfully, "plus I like the boys they are talented a bit misguided but talented, humanity will need them in the war".

"What war?" Naruto felt his heckles rise. Millennias had passed since the age of shinobi and yet the shadow of war loomed still.

"We stand on the edge of a great change, forces older than gods are stirring from their resting places different dimensions are aligning. Agents of both order and chaos move in to places, I don't have all the answers that you seek but in deep of my being I can sense that you will be needed in the war"

Naruto didn't comment to this, shinigami had said the same thing. However he needed answers the entire thing seemed like a big mystery to him. 'Knowledge is power' the late sandaime had instilled the message deep in his being and never before had he understood the truth of the matter. He couldn't go to Azazel or Sirezechs for help they would invariably try to mold his vision to fit his agenda.

The arrival of his friends led by the leader of the fallen angels stopped his train of thought. No sooner had she landed Akeno threw her arms around the blonde shinobi standing in the middle of the roof smiling his infuriating grin. One week he had stayed away from her and she hated every moment of it. She balled her fist allowing mild electric charge to concentrate before punching the infuriating shinobi in the gut.

Naruto knew the punch was coming but he didn't try to dodge the attack Akeno needed to blow off steam just like Yugito used to do and he could always take the hit.Soon everyone of the group joined the reunion of the two lovers. Well everyone except Koneko and Azazel but for two different reasons

Koneko's budding abilities with senjutsu could sense a font that drew in natural chakra, powers so vast that it made her sister seem insignificant like an ant. One quick glance at Naruto sensei proved that he wasn't tapped into the flow of natural chakra and that meant there was someone else here. She focused on pulling the flow of senjutsu in herself in a minute her nekomata heritage displayed it self. The hidden presence of the Sun Wukong revealed to her enhanced senses.

Azazel stood near the center of the roof his senses taking in the various aura still present in the air. The place had been a site for skirmish and the unique energy signature in the air revealed the opposing sides. However the trail was so faint as if someone tried to cover it up, it seemed that Naruto was doing some digging on his own and he needed to be the one providing answers. The vast powers of youkai kings on the side of khaos brigade would bring devastation and he couldn't allow it.

Cao Cao paced restlessly as the inner circle members of hero squad stood silent. Three days of scouring the documents of three worlds and yet he had no clue whatsoever on the Naruto guy. All he knew was that this one guy had the potential to completely derail any plan the khaos brigade have. He wasn't even sure that the power boost from Ophis could be enough to beat Naruto.

If Sun Wukong one of the strongest warriors in the creation treated the man with respect and fear then it proved how dangerous the man was. "What's the plan then, we have blood of Anubis with Vali, blood of Ares with us but still we need more at least the blood of one of the asgardians and the ichor from Michael." Siegfrid spoke, the swordsmaster was nervous at seeing Cao Cao so tensed. He had never witnessed something spook their leader before not even when he faced the blazing eyes of greek god of war. The battle had been devastating even he failed against the skill and rage of the red god. Without Cao Cao stepping in he probably would have been torn to molecules by the rage of Ares but then Cao Cao joined the fight.

Being a mortal he was both weaker and slower than the god they faced but even that made no difference the skill was high enough to block all the strikes from Ares driving the god even angrier. It took time but finally one mistake and the spear sneaked in through Ares's guard the divine armor provided no difference to the strongest longinus in creation however that merely was the beginning as the second form of the holy spear came to play.

The power of the seven treasures were incomplete but still it was strong enough to stall a weakened god long enough for the whole squad to pull out and while everyone else was more or less injured Cao Cao was without a single scratch to see him defeated and that too by a mortal sent a cold chill down the norse swordmaster's spine.

"We must draw him away before we move to our next target, so far we know that he cares about the peerage of the lucifer's sister so using them would be absolutely needed, call upon Ophis's forces we need a big distraction to draw them in." Cao cao had his mind made up, he couldn't risk the chance of his plans failing the third kingdom had suffered long enough now it was time for them to rise. "We need to open the dragon gate to great red his power would call upon all the dragons in the vicinity and the call of the dragon lord would force them to come. The gathered power would be enough to move into our next phase but this would be a huge undertaking, I will talk to the reinforcements but you Georg have the most important task of them all. That is why you must stay back, the energy from the spot will be redirected to you and you know what to do."

"Who are you thinking of having as reinforcement" Arjun kept his voice calm, hiding the excitement behind a cool facade, the other squads of Khaos brigade rarely interacted with each other and even rarely did they interact with this division, even so things were different from how they appeared from the outside for one thing Ophis the great dragon god on whose name the enterprise operated was merely a figure head the division leaders were mostly independent with their own agendas and that led to the question who was behind it all.

Naruto stood alone in his dojo as his students left the facility one by one all of them except for Joey. Being orphan and homeless Naruto allowed him to stay with him. The young thief wasn't the most gifted among his students but there was something in the boy that reminded Naruto of Jiraiya now watching the future shinobi he had to rethink his plan, it was unfair that humans were robbed of their potential by the beings who weren't even capable of understanding them in the first place but power led to corruption and war. War always led to death and destruction and enough blood already stained his hand.

"Don't think that you alone know everything kid, the hubris has always led to ruins. Obito, Madara they all wanted the same thing to end all warfare but at the cost of your freedom, have you forgotten it so soon." Kurama roared in his mind.

"I have forgotten nothing old friend but somedays I have to wonder if I was right. This mess is getting more confusing by moment devils, gods and other supernatural beings plus the emissary of chaos all it proves is just how out of depths I am. I need information but everyone I have met so far has their own agenda. I need someone who is neutral but in this great mess I don't see anyone who is without his own agenda and the ones I can trust are too young to know the truth."

The truth in his words gave even the mighty fox pause, he was tied to the heart of the world the raw primal energy of the planet coursed through his kind but even as a sage his host was not ready to join the heart. He needed to grow a lot more before he could hope to feel the beating heart of the earth mother her self.

"The need is dire Kurama, we can not wait till Naruto matures the war is coming, you felt the power in Cao Cao's spear one strong hit from that can kill even us." As always Gyuuki's words were full of wisdom but Kurama refused the advice. Being the eldest and strongest of his brethren had its own advantages but that didn't solve the problem of Naruto's lack of knowledge with the impending war. It was almost like being trapped in a spider's net only the spider had no idea that it wasn't just a harmless fly trapped in this mess.

"May I interject here?" The new voice was so surprising even the normally calm Son Goku had a hard time controlling himself. Kurama however didn't even try for control, his claw passed harmlessly through the body of the fallen asgardian god of lies.

"Even you cannot harm the dead dear fox, I am merely a fragment of Loki's mind that latched on to the nearest mortal stave off hel. You can call me Ikol" there was no aura in the phantasm that Kurama could sense and without the aura even the strongest immortal being was as weak as an infant.

"What do you want from the kid?" Kurama spoke his temper now under control. "To point him towards the only avenue that can provide him some of the answers that he seek." Ikol spoke with a big grin on his face.

"Speak, we are listening"

"In the beginning of Norse mythos Odin and his brothers searched for a source of power to beat the sons of Surtur and they found a fragment of the Nature's essence it was spread throughout nine realms touching the edge of dreams and nightmare. The life energy of the three Aesir elders allowed the essence to grow through the nine realms forming the Yaggdraceil. That tree holds all the knowledge of the universe ever since nature allowed life to grow in this rock"

Odin gazed in to the murky depths of fate, the haze that began with the arrival of Naruto really limited how far even his eye could see in the time line but it was still clear enough to show him the imminent attack on Asgard. The spawn of Lucifer and his group was going to lead the attack on the golden city accompanied by a veritable army of the old devil faction and golems as well as monsters he had never witnessed before. The war that was coming was going to be fierce but what interested him even more was the flickering image of Naruto Uzumaki.

Some future showed him battling for the asgard troops but some showed him tearing through the army of the valhalla as well, that wasn't something Odin was willing to take lightly.

The power he helped create via the Yaggdraceil was titanic in proportion dwarfing even strongest of aesirs and Naruto had the power to draw on that source.

He stood up from his throne, he needed counsel and there was only one being he trusted to give him that counsel. In more than a millenia he was going to visit his uncle.

Vali Lucifer was sparring with Arthur when the message reached him. A new battle beckoned him a chance to test his mettle against some of the strongest being in existence in their very own right. The command from Ophis came just a few hours ago and it fulfilled one of his wildest dreams to invade the golden realm of asgard but he knew it was going to be tough even with his juggernaut drive. Asgard was realm of the slayers of dragons even the strength of the Albion was going to fall short against the strongest of the Aesir, he needed to master the power of the heavenly dragon to the fullest to merge its power with the heritage of the lightbringer. Only merging the destruction powers of the lucifer with draconic power could even hope to kill the god of thunder and the all father.

"You are far too weak to control my powers totally, your arrogance would cost you dearly. The dragons are not a joke to deal with, you think being the descendant of Lucifer gives you power to succeed where no other wielder has ever succeeded." The voice of Albion was mocking in his ears but Vali didn't care he didn't intend to confront the power of Albion alone. He knew he was strong enough to maintain the Juggernaut drive for a day that would be enough to subdue the souls of the previous users and add their strength to his own prodigious one. However he knew with the mission he was being handed he couldn't do it that meant having a trump card to nullify the problem.

"How is the specimen coming along Kuroka" he asked nekomata sitting in the sun just ahead lazing like the cat she was.

"It is going well, Bikou is now feeding the culture sage chakra to hasten the growth at this pace we would be done by the next few hours after that its just a matter of fusing enough life soul energy to his heart to get it beating." Kuroka explained

Vali grinned it was really a stroke of brilliance when he had dragged the corpse of Hati the son of Fenrir to the hideout. From there the two magicians did their thing to create the very own god slayer for the fight.
