The Advent91: Okay I have been literally working with this one in parallel since the last update which was not too long ago. Just warning you all right now in this chapter there is little to no action. There is action and there is insight to how I had planned both Naruto and Light's first meeting before all of this took place. I hope you like it. Also yes the pairing of having Naruto and Light was planned a long time ago in this story when people kept asking who he is going to get with or who they want to see them with. I had already planned out a Naruto and Light relationship in the future being in this stories sequel.
That also brings me to something else. Yes I am bringing over Light from FFXIII into this whole thing. No she is not going to have the powers or magic like in her games at all. She is being brought over into the RE verse and being changed to fit in with it just like what I did to Naruto for this fan fiction. Yes Naruto sounds OC but what did you expect the Naruto from the manga and anime? That would not fit at all and since I am bringing Light over she is going to be put under the same treatment. Also even if both verse of Naruto's actual verse is not merged existing alongside the verse of RE does not mean it's not a crossover. Characters from both verses are in the story and reworked to sound realistic with RE terms of realistic. Having the original Naruto in this would be so freaking stupid it would be cringe worthy so I reworked him into what he is in this story now. In fact I had a reviewer say along the lines that he liked how I made Naruto fit in the RE verse sounding realistic which I appreciated reading from that reviewer.
For instance the change in his hairstyle I made for Naruto. Yes I am a fan of Final Fantasy and yes Cloud is one of my favorite characters and I used his hairstyle from Advent Children to be Naruto's in this story. I think its looks cool on him because I didn't want to imagine that stupid original hairstyle of his ever looking good in an RE sense because most people in the RE verse would probably wonder how much hair jell he was wearing to spike it up like that. This can also be said for his emotions as he is described being somewhat quiet and doesn't smile much these days and once again the reasoning has been told again and again. The same can be said for his voice as I don't imagine him sounding like the current Naruto voice actor still sounding way too young but more mature.
Well I guess you can't please everyone. It still won't change the way how I choose to portray this Naruto or any other character. Anyway that is all I have to say and I am now off to get some rest. Also please don't ask me when the next update is. I appreciate the enthusiasm but please be patient as I like to take my time. Thank you and enjoy.
It's been an hour so far since Naruto escaped VECTOR and Wolfpack once again. It's been an hour since Bloody Mary was hopefully killed and stayed dead this time. It's been an hour since the massive shootout and battle on French Street. Wolfpack found the location of one of Umbrella's safe houses ducking into what looked like the inside of an old abandoned storage closet. LUPO approached the wall placing her hand on it looking for the pad and she found it in one of the bricks tracing the Umbrella insignia before pressing her thumb upon the center of the Umbrella icon. Once those was done and with a light shining out scanning her eye the wall before them parts open revealing the entrance into one of their safe houses. Wolfpack walked inside with the door closing behind them following the hall leading into a small room where some cots, cabinet of rations, fridge with water along with ammo crates as well as a table set up with computers on and ready to use with a lone bathroom.
VECTOR sighting the cabinet opens it up finding a bottle of pain killers and walks over to a cot sitting facing the opposite direction of the team. FOUR EYES dropped down to laying one of the cots with BERTHA simply siting on another as SPECTRE was hungry for some food. LUPO sat in the chair before the set up computer monitors placing her gun aside and taking off her face mask looking at the back of VECTOR seeing him looking to reach for the bottom of his mask. She wished that he wasn't wearing a damn hood over his head as she he now had his face mask off seeing him gulp down some painkillers to drinking down a bottle of water.
"So you want to start explaining?" LUPO inquired.
"Explain what?" He responded.
What caught the rest of the team off guard was the sound of his voice now sounding calm, cool and emotionless as well as young. This made them all realize that VECTOR's mask was equipped with a voice changer to discuss his voice.
"How about you start explaining how you know our target so much more than the rest of your own team VECTOR and I don't want any bullshit this time."
"I don't know what you mean."
"You know exactly what I mean. On more than one occasion you have taken it upon yourself to engage the target solo, he seems to escape from under your watch and not to mention you call him by his actual name. The boy is property of Umbrella so what's with the first name basis and telling him things you aren't supposed to like the Konoha City Incident. You start talking and I am ordering you to take off that mask of yours. None of us even know you real name. I want to see your face…"
"You don't need to see my face LUPO."
"It's an order. Ever since you came into this team you have refused to show your face to any of us and it caused me not to trust you. You grew on us and became a value member of this team. Now with these recent things that have happened I don't feel like I could trust you. So you are going to show us your face!"
"…No."
LUPO made a sigh of frustration as silence followed as she realized something.
"Hold on. I know what this is. You KNOW him."
VECTOR's movements ceased for a moment as he was about to take a swig of his water before he continues drinking the rest down tossing it across the room away opening up another water.
"That's it isn't it. VECTOR and the target are old acquaintances of sorts."
"I have no idea what you are talking about LUPO."
LUPO stood up in frustration aiming her pistol into the back of VECTOR's head putting the rest of the team on edge. Feeling the barrel of a gun to the back of his head caused VECTOR to bring the water away from his lips.
"You are going to show us your face or else I paint that wall with your brains on it!"
"So you're just going to shoot me just like that and all because I refuse to show you my face."
"Tell us who you are VECTOR! Who are you?!"
"…Shoot me."
"W-What?"
"Shoot me. It would actually be a kindness to me. Just make sure you capture him and get him out of the city."
"WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT HIM SO MUCH?! VECTOR?! Reveal yourself to us!"
"…No."
LUPO fired off a shot into the floor but VECTOR didn't flinch not intimidated as he took a sip of his water. However that is when VECTOR suddenly stood up as he parted his hood from over his head turning to the group and all of them were taken aback as to who he was seeing his face and even LUPO as she took a step back.
"Y-You?"
VECTOR quickly puts his hood back on pulling his mask down his face once again with his voice now disguised.
"There…you saw who I am."
"Why would you end up with Umbrella?"
"That is not important. I had my reasons for what I have done. I at least let some part of my past alive."
"I don't care if you knew that kid but understand this VECTOR that we are going to catch him. If we don't we are all screwed here. Whatever attachment you may have had with him just know that he is going to the company after we capture him and if you try in any way to hinder that progress I will kill you myself. Is that understood VECTOR?"
"…Yes ma' me. I don't want to be in this damn hellhole as much as you do LUPO."
"What can you tell us about him to help us in his capture? That is if you would even bother."
"There is nothing to help us make his capture easy. You would need leverage over his head. There is no one that you can use against him."
"What about his mother?" FOUR EYES suggested. "If we captured his mother we can force him to surrender himself."
"You can't forget about the dog." SPECTRE reminded her.
"That's right. That mutt after going AWOL went after and killed all the U.S.S. teams that were dispatched within Raccoon City cleaning up any evidence that could possibly link Umbrella to all of this. What was his dogs name again?" Bertha said and asked.
"Kurama." VECTOR answered. "Naruto would have Kurama guard her of course. We saw it when Kurama fled with Kushina leaving Naruto behind when we chased him out of the sewers."
"Kurama killed all of U.S.S. teams in the city except for us. I know we are the best but how could we do any better? You can be certain that if the target is not with her then the dog is."
"There has to be a way." LUPO pondered aloud as she looked at the computer monitors.
It was then that she began typing away on the computer pulling up Naruto's file. Everything that was pulled up only had the basic information. Basically there was nothing else that could help in his capture right now besides if they had his mother and his father was dead. There was no one outside of his life and the only point Umbrella even took down information or became interested with Naruto was when they learned he had a prototype version of the T-Virus in his veins a couple of days AFTER the Konoha City Incident.
"It says here that he was in the hospital for three weeks in a coma like state. He has amnesia? We didn't know that. It says here that he doesn't recall anything that happened within Konoha City. He's had this amnesia for years on end but it seems the lapse in his memories is mostly everything that happened in that incident and some other random points in his life." LUPO read aloud.
"Meaning?" SPECTRE asked.
"For example say if he got a gold fish for his eighth birthday. He suffers this amnesia for years but he doesn't recall that goldfish for a long time. The same can be said for a friend. He may see that friends face but he won't remember that friend unless he remembers himself, told or something triggers that memory with that individual."
"I wonder if he's had any hospital visits from that point in time long ago. You think it's possible to look up records like that far back?" LUPO asked the team aloud.
"It's possible but that would take a long time even with Umbrella's resources. You're asking for information that's years old. I doubt there is even a trail anymore." FOUR EYES replied.
"Damn." LUPO cursed.
She had another thought.
"What about camera footage? Certainly there would be old recordings like that stored away somewhere in the hospital he was admitted into after the incident. It has the hospital he was admitted into on file here and it was Jutendo Hospital in Tokyo, Japan."
"That could work but once again that could take a while." FOUR EYES answered.
"It's good enough for me."
LUPO made contact with U.S.S. Command.
"Delta Team to U.S.S. Command, over."
"This better be good Wolfpack."
"We require information to aid us in the capture of the target."
"What kind of information?"
"Does the Jutendo Hospital in Tokyo, Japan sound familiar to you?"
"It's owned by Umbrella, why?"
"That's perfect."
"What are you getting at LUPO?"
"The target was admitted into that hospital after the Konoha City Incident. Surely he would've had some visitors."
"What are you scheming Wolfpack?"
"Simply old camera footage dated years back. Besides his mother and father with him in that hospital long ago for those couple of weeks surely he would have had anyone else visit him perhaps someone important to him."
"I see. Even though it was years ago Management would be able to look into and find such footage. You are suggesting finding someone else for leverage over the targets head."
"That's right. Either we capture him before we even get such information or we corner him with such information that he would not be able to refuse surrendering."
"Hmm? It's a cold trail to follow but Management will certainly take in your suggestion. It may not even exist anymore but it's still something to look into. However this doesn't make your chances of getting out of the city any higher. Remember you only have that new strain of virus to help you by a small margin. His capture his priority one. If you don't capture him before Management runs out of patience then you will be on your own Delta Team. Terminating transmission."
"Piece of fucking shit!" LUPO cursed kicking a chair over.
"Command is not playing around when it comes to this boy's capture." SPECTRE said.
"Never heard he and Management be this strict before." BERTHA said.
"It's the Prototype T-Virus so of course Umbrella is going to want it." VECTOR said.
"Didn't Umbrella make it? I assume afterwards was T-Virus." BERTHA responded.
"The company never made that virus. It was a different group altogether that made it, the group that attacked Konoha City long ago. They somehow got their hands on Umbrella's T-Virus and reconstructed it calling it THEIR Prototype T-Virus. From what Intel says there were possibly others with the same type of virus in their bodies. There were NINE of them."
"So there were eight other before him?" BERTHA asked sort of surprised.
"Yeah. When Umbrella and the Japanese government managed to take back the city bodies were found with similar numbers like the one Naruto has on his arm. The bodies were of 2, 4, 5 and 6. They didn't survive. When Umbrella recovered the bodies they theorized that they too had the Proto T-Virus and that it killed them showing they were unsuccessful in bonding with it."
"What about the other ones?" LUPO asked.
"1, 3, 7 and 8 are presumed to still be alive along with our current target, 9. Umbrella has not been able to find the others to the point that they don't even know their names or even identities. Umbrella has only found Naruto."
"So no wonder Umbrella wants him so bad. It's their one and only chance and even more so knowing he runs around this hellhole of a city. If the target dies then who knows how long until they even find the other surviving subjects."
"So VECTOR you knew the kid. Does that mean you also knew his parents too?" BERTHA asked.
VECTOR did not answer her question. Instead he walks over to an ammo cache and begins loading up.
"Don't we have a target to catch?" He asked aloud changing the subject.
"Yes we do. Alright Wolfpack proceed to load up. We are moving out in ten."
They were obviously tired. Never had they been on a mission like this or one that was this long before. Actually this was their first mission so they really didn't have any grounds to compare.
"To bad we don't have BELTWAY anymore. He would certainly be making sure that the target wouldn't be getting far every time we catch up to him." FOUR EYES said.
"I never liked him." VECTOR said.
"You didn't? Why didn't you like him?"
"Because he was just bat shit insane. I read his file. The man did some pretty fucked up shit back in Africa."
"And what you did was no different?" LUPO inquired.
This made VECTOR pause as she noticed his grip on his rifle slightly tighten before he turned to her and she can see that she pressed a button in him seeing it in his lone revealed eye.
"You have no idea why I did what I did. You have no idea what I had to go through in carrying out such an act. You all know who I am now and what I did but all of you are no different. Each one of us has done something terrible that we should pay with our lives or be rotting behind bars to the end of our times. BELTWAY was a literal lose cannon as his acts in Africa spoke such. FOUR EYES, you were suspected of human experimentation which you were and cast out of your homeland. SPECTRE, you are a literal criminal who exploited his very own network within the criminal underworld with blackmail being your game, and you were chased out of Russia. BERTHA, you were respected in the field of medicine but you enjoyed causing pain, refusing anesthetics to your patients practically torturing them and as a result you could no longer study the field of medicine, you are a sadist who should be behind bars just like the rest of us."
VECTOR looked back to LUPO.
"And LUPO, you just told me what I did was no different. Isn't what you did somewhat the same?"
"Don't you dare?"
"You married an abusive man. However when he raised his hand to one of your own children your motherly instincts took over and you murdered him with your bare hands. You killed family too!"
VECTOR looked amongst the group.
"So don't you dare go judging me for what I did? All of your hands are just as dirty as mine! We all deserve to die either by the gun, the needle, behind the bars or even to those fucking things out there or hell even against 9 for the things we have done."
VECTOR threw his weapon upon one of the cots before going to the restroom slamming the door behind him with a loud bang.
"…Damn that man."
Naruto was dreaming and this time is was a good dream. It was actually the day he met Light long ago and it was within Konoha City before the attack. His parents presented him with a gift and young Naruto opened the box and out popping its cute head was the then pup Kurama with its tongue hanging out happy to see Naruto. That day Naruto played with Kurama outside in the snow building a snowman with Kurama barking aloud around the snowman as little Naruto built it.
"Do you like it Kurama?"
BARK!
Suddenly Kurama's head turned looking in another direction and he suddenly ran off with Naruto giving chase. Naruto of course gave chase assuming the worst thinking that Kurama was running away. Kushina walked down the steps of their complex building with her winter coat on smiling as she walked after the two.
"Kurama please don't go!"
Young Naruto rounded a corner past a tree and he noticed Kurama was being petted by someone with rose colored hair and she looked to be about his age wearing her winter clothing as well. She was petting his dog.
"Who's that?" He asked himself innocently.
Naruto approached adjusting the red scarf around his neck and when he got close enough she noticed him out of the corner of her eye and the smile that Naruto actually liked seeing on her face turned into a frown with a small glare directed at him.
"Hello?"
Kurama barked as Naruto approached getting closer to galloping cutely around Naruto.
"I'm sorry if my dog was bothering you. You see I just got him."
She didn't give him a response.
"So what's your name?"
"Why should I tell you my name? I don't know you. You are a stranger." She somewhat heatedly responded.
"That is true so it would be best if I introduced myself to you. My name is Naruto Namikaze." He replied with a smile forgetting the tone she spoke with completely.
"I-I didn't ask you for your name." She replied a little annoyed.
"Oh? Well I am sorry if I am bothering you. It's just that…Well first of all I don't have many friends. If I am bothering you I will leave you alone if you'd like."
Naruto turned away but he noticed that Kurama was tugging on the back of his pants. As she saw this she couldn't help but feel like a jerk. It wasn't his fault that her and her sister's parents passed on due to an unfortunate accident and he was just trying to cheer her up. She had no reason to reply with such a behavior to someone like him.
"…I apologize for the response I gave you, Naruto."
"Oh! No its okay."
"No really."
"No its fine."
"No it isn't fine!" She said with authority stomping her foot.
"Oh okay! Apology accepted."
She frowned looking away to the snow covered ground.
"Look I am sorry for sounding the way I am right now. The tone in my response you know. It's just that my mom and dad have…Well they are sleeping now. It's been three weeks since then."
Although being young Naruto knew what she was talking about. Her parents had recently died.
"Oh I am so sorry to hear that."
"…Thank you. I and my little sister are living with our Auntie A for the time being now."
"I can't say that I know what you are going through but I can say that your parents wouldn't want you looking like this."
"What do you mean?"
"It's very tragic but surely even you would know that your parents wouldn't want you living like this all sad and depressed, and without that nice smile on your face."
She blushed at the last part.
"Excuse me?"
"Your smile. I saw you smiling while you were petting Kurama. It was…a great smile. I like your smile."
"Oh t-thank you."
"Also you're very pretty." He said with a blush scratching the back of his head nervously.
Her reaction to that was hysterical. It was the kind of reaction one would give if their mother caught their young child with their hand in the cookie jar.
"D-D-Don't be an idiot and say things like that."
"Hey I'm not an idiot." He responded with a small glare.
"Well your acting like one saying something like that to me." She replied with an equal glare and blush.
"How so? I mean as true as it is I am also trying to make you smile."
"Make me smile?"
It was then he noticed that her little sister was playing with the snow while their Auntie A was sitting upon the bench watching and Naruto even noticed his own mother sitting right next to the woman exchanging small talk with her.
"Is that your little sister over there?"
"Yeah."
"Look at her. She is smiling so why aren't you?"
"Because my parents died you idiot!"
"…I'm sorry. Yeah that was a stupid question. Yes you have a reason to not smile but that doesn't mean you have to deny yourself any hint or feelings of happiness. Your parents passed away, I can't imagine how that feels but you know they would not want you to be unhappy or depressed as you are now. Are you trying to punish yourself?"
"M-Maybe that is what I am doing…"
"But why would you do that?"
"B-Because I was the reason they died!" She shouted.
Returning to the present and waking up from his dream Naruto's eyes snap open after hearing a loud bang against the closed shutters of the door. It must have been some stupid zombie that bumped into the shutter door. Being brought out of the dream he remembered when she told him that. She told him long ago that she was the reason they died which was not true at all. Naruto on the other hand right now being a target of Umbrella with his father practically giving her life for him and Naruto shooting him thought to himself that claim that she gave her self-back then would fit him best.
"...My father is dead because I am a freak. I'm the reason he died…and for all I know Kurama and mom could follow. Light if you were here right now that would be an accusation that is true for me. Stupid damn zombie I was getting near the best part of the dream too."
He looked at his less than fifty percent left power phone saying it was 10:12 AM. He couldn't believe that it was barely this time on this 29th day. It feels like all that he has been through having that battle out of the sewers, venturing through the streets to the arcade, the battle against the U.B.C.S. moments ago as well as against that bitch that was Bloody Mary finding him and his third bout with VECTOR. That was all only in a span of two hours or less? He gave out a yawn before returning to his radio to give Kurama a call.
"Kurama, are you there?"
"I'm here." He responded over communications. "Yes Kushina its Naruto. I am speaking to him right now. I told you he would be alright."
"Where are you both at right now?"
"We are currently safely secured and held up within a garage on Wallace Street. Where are you?"
"On Good Street held up in a convenient store past the Raccoon City Collage. I'm pretty safe right now as much as you two are. I was actually having a good dream."
"That is surprising. Naruto said he had a good dream. Kushina is asking you if it was about Light."
"…No."
"He says no. She says you're a terrible liar."
"Yes I was having a dream about her. It was the day we first met."
"I remember that day. That was so long ago."
"You're getting old Kurama." Naruto joked.
"Getting old is not that bad and it's not going to be a problem anymore with how I am now. I still would've preferred being normal with no worry about dog years be damned. So how do we plan on rendezvous?"
"Well I can't go back to you the way I came. We can't risk that and I won't risk you'll safety. If I am going to get to you two I will be taking a long way."
"Why don't you try traveling along the Circular River?"
"What?"
"You can cut across a couple of blocks and reach the Circular River. You are close by to it and then you can travel up north straight to us on Warren Street."
"Your right I can do that. Good job. Tell mom that I will be seeing you guys soon."
"Alright."
"However if you both become compromised or suspect so then I want you both to move to a different area altogether okay?"
"…As you wish."
"I will see you guys soon."
Meanwhile outside and miles away from Raccoon City we return once more to a Umbrella Base Camp set up where the head of U.S.S. Command sat and waited as those annoying pest in their lab coats walked about and other suits as well doing their parts. Oswald E. Spencer the Umbrella Chairman was still here. With all the setbacks with Naruto escaping the Nemesis to even besting it in battle TWICE to evading the grips of Wolfpack/Delta Team that was said to be the best of the Umbrella Security Service and even responsible for killing dozens upon dozens of the U.B.C.S. With all these setbacks the man still had a smile on his face. On the monitors viewed a layout of Raccoon showing radius of infection within the city being all red, another showing the status of the Nemesis which was still going AWOL by following its previous orders, one with a screen of data of the mutated T&G viruses sent by FOUR EYES and finally one showing SUBJECT 9.
Not even the U.S.S. Commander knew what made this kid so special that the chairman himself would make this kid such a high priority over that creature that was chasing him. Sure he had an alternate strain of T-Virus within him but what was the point? Umbrella has their own T-Virus and it has infected the entirety of Raccoon City. Umbrella had T-Virus and wanted G along with Proto T but then again Wolfpack themselves were in possession of the still pending name of the combined T&G viruses collected from that creature. If cards were played right and everything went according to plan then Umbrella would have three new different strains of viruses under its palms.
"I just thought of a new name for the mutated virus strain collected from the creature." Spencer suddenly said aloud.
"What would that be sir?" A random employee asked.
"The O-Virus. The O standing for Omega."
"As in the end." The U.S.S. Commander said.
"That's right commander. That creature was something to fear and it was a beautiful specimen. While I did want it captured alive we have come upon a greater boon thanks to Wolfpack. Such a creature that inflicts such anxiety and uneasiness would be the perfect description of that creature. Hence from this point on it will be known as O-Virus that is if we get our hands on it."
"Sir if you don't mind me asking what is so special about the boy's particular alternate strain of the T-Virus?"
"Whoever stole a sample of the T-Virus for that organization they managed to make their version supposedly superior to ours? They have accomplished something that no one in the world has managed to do. Think of the young Namikaze now as a super soldier due to his particular virus strain. Just think how much the corporation would be able to boon off of something like that with said virus strain doing what it did to young 9. Our T-Virus assists in the creation of our B.O.W.'s but we could never maintain complete control unless given proper sophisticated programming and commands through parasites. The boy here has no such restrictions with him or even a parasite for that matter. He is completely bonded with the strain within him while still coming to grips with his abilities he will continue to slowly come that much closer to total control and it seems that the more deeper he dives into that power the closer he is to losing himself into another bloodlust rage. If he learns to control it he will become quite an inconvenience to the corporation but at the same time provide Umbrella with precious data."
"I see."
"Think about it commander. Imagine our own men flowing with this viral strain of Namikaze's in your troops bodies. Umbrella would have units of literal super or enhanced U.S.S. operatives. Once we have the boy imagine what we can learn as we break that virus within him down."
"Sounds very ambitious sir."
However even the U.S.S. Commander didn't like the idea of having a viral strain within his men. Yes they were criminals too with shady backgrounds but the U.B.C.S. troops had worse backgrounds then even most members of the Umbrella Security Service.
"I want that O-Virus and SUBJECT 9."
"…What if Wolfpack does not manage to complete the mission depending on the situation sir? The target killed BELTWAY."
"If they fail then we leave them for dead. Failure is not an option here anyway. If they need motivation then I can make certain arrangements to influence the Wolf Mother to do her job better. However they have the now dubbed O-Virus. If Wolfpack fails in capturing the target we will just simply have to go in there ourselves and take it from their dead hands. As for 9 we may have to leave him for dead but that is something I want to avoid commander. Let us see that does not happen."
Naruto found himself crossing Good Street heading due west toward the Circular River as he would have to cross possibly three to four blocks to reach it. He did not like how quiet it was right now. The street was empty and it was way too quiet for his liking right now. His senses told him to look to his right and when he did he sighted six or more pair of red eyes glowing within the darkness of an alley and running out after him was Crimson Heads! Naruto fired off his MK pistol hitting just one of them in the head killing it instantly but the rest of his shots just hit their bodies before Naruto was forced to turn and run for his life. He did not bother firing over his shoulder wasting bullets as he turned running down an alley but he wasn't paying attention and he suddenly found himself falling down a manhole hitting his head against the ledge before plummeting down into the depths below crashing into the cement sidewalks below now rendered unconscious.
He was once again dreaming about that snow covered day so long ago with her.
"Why would you say something like that? You shouldn't say something like that. There is no way you would be responsible for your own parents passing."
"…It is my fault because if I never got in trouble at school they wouldn't have had to come to see us in the principal's office. I was only defending my sister from some bullies. I got in trouble, the principal called my parents and I waited, and waited, and waited until my sister was brought to the office and we were told that t-there has been a t-t-t-terrible accident."
She suddenly felt herself in a gentle embrace as her teary eyed eyes were wide in shock from the warm hug.
"Don't say that."
He held her at arm's length giving her a bright smile.
"Why did you do that?"
"You needed one."
"…I don't know what to say."
"How about thank you?"
"…T-Thank you."
"So what should I call you?"
"What?"
"Well I still don't know your name."
"You can call me…Light."
"I wont tell you my real name. I just met you after all."
"That's fair and it may not be your actual name but Light is also right for you. You look like you can be the light in any darkness." He replied with a laugh afterwards.
However she on the other hand actually had a small blush appear on her cheeks.
"Thank you for the compliment Naruto."
"So can we be friends Light?"
"You want to be my friend?" She asked almost baffled.
"Why wouldn't I want to be?"
"It's just that I don't have many friends. In fact you would be my only one."
"Oh really!" He replied almost excitingly. "Then it is an honor my lady." He said with a bow.
She actually cracked a little smile without letting him see it as he made a gentlemanly bow to her.
"You're really silly you know that." She said.
"It's part of my charm is what my mom always says."
"So that's your mom sitting with my auntie?"
"That is."
"…Well I hope she lives a long life."
"I hope so to but even I know that she won't be around forever."
"…They should."
Naruto noticed she was sad once again dwelling on the past and had an idea.
"Hey how about we have some fun Light?"
"What do you mean?"
"Let's have a snow ball fight."
"I don't feel like it."
"Come on! It will put a big smile on your face."
"I said no." She replied almost heatedly turning the other direction away from him.
Suddenly she felt a snow ball hit her back making her take a step forward before she turned to the Namikaze seeing him hiding behind a tree pocking his head out giving her a big smile. She should've been mad with him but instead she grew a smirk as she crouched down and Naruto witnessed her making a rather large snow ball that looked like it would be too much to even pick up. She hefted the snow ball up with both hands to holding it over her head before the weight got the better of her. She falls onto her back in the snow with her own snow ball crash landing on her face with Naruto's laughter heard in the background. As he was laughing it was silenced seconds later with a snow ball hitting him directly in the face sending him into the snow.
What followed was this time Light laughing at him. He sat himself up wiping the snow off his face smiling across to Light seeing her bust a gut having made a direct hit.
"Oh so you think your tough huh?" Naruto asked aloud.
"I'm tougher than you." She said sticking her tongue at him.
"We will see about that." He replied while making another snow ball.
"Then bring it on little Naru." She replied giving him a nickname with a snow ball read in her hand.
Kushina watched her son from afar seeing him have a snow ball fight with the young Light. It brought a smile to her face as well as the woman with short black hair that Light called Auntie A. Naruto threw another snowball but Light dodged it countering with another of her own hitting Naruto in the chest knocking him back on his feet and Light chuckled at him while Naruto gave her a small glare accompanied by a smile. At least she was smiling and laughing.
"I surrender you win."
"Girls rule and boys droll." She replied as she walked over to him now under the tree with him.
Naruto was before her giving her a bow.
"I bow to thy superiority."
She chuckled again.
"Thank you Naruto."
"It's not a problem. I mean what are friends for right?"
"Yeah you are absolutely right." She replied with a small smile forming.
It was then Naruto began to uncurl his red scarf from around his neck and he held it out to her as he saw her slightly shake.
"Here take this. This will be a sign of our friendship."
"You want me to have this?"
"Of course I do. Besides you still look pretty cold to me."
"What about you?" She asked taking the scarf now having it wrapped around her.
"I'm fine. This cold will not kill me."
It was then that they both looked up after hearing some rustling from above and what they both saw was a mistletoe while a certain red hair woman was hiding behind the tree having almost been caught. She then popped her presence into the scene with the two kids.
"Awe would you look at that. Do you want to know what that is and what it means son?" Kushina asked Naruto.
"What does it mean mom?"
"It is associated with Christmas as a decoration under which lovers are expected to share a kiss."
It was then that both Naruto and Light looked at one another putting two and two together. Their faces turned red with Light looking away.
"B-But we just met?!"
"It doesn't matter. Luckily for you two there is only one berry. If there were more than one you would have to share multiple kisses. So come on you two and share a sweet little kiss." Kushina said with her phone out to take a picture.
"Do we have to?" Naruto asked.
"Yes!" She said quickly and with authority.
"I-I don't mind." Light said.
This caught Naruto off guard.
"I mean it's just a silly little kiss and all. Not a big deal kind you know."
"Right."
"I don't think so." Kushina said in a sing along tone. "The kiss must be lips."
Now both of them were more embarrassed than ever.
"So which one will make the first move I wonder. Come on Naruto!" Kushina inwardly cheered.
The two of them took a step closer to one another with the red in their cheeks retained.
"There is absolutely no way out of this?" Naruto asked nervously.
"Naruto let's just do this." Light said with confidence and bravery. "It's just a dumb little kiss. It's no big deal."
"You say that now."
Kushina saw her son and Light stare both still obviously nervous.
"Well come on son and put your hands on her shoulders!"
"But I-,"
That is when suddenly the opposite happens. His shoulder were grabbed and Light was the first one to close in and gives him a kiss on the lips to which she was blushing mad with Naruto doing the same with wide open eyes. Kushina wore an O expression on her face completely shocked as well but at the same time was smiling. Light had her eyes closed while Naruto slowly closed his placing his hands on her shoulders and Kushina took the opportunity seeing the money shot with the flash of her phones camera going off.
"I got it!"
Kushina noticed that the two had yet to separate and when they did both of them were looking at one another eye to eye in complete embarrassment with both of them taking a step back from one another. Light was looking to the snow covered ground as if finding it interesting rubbing her left arm while Naruto was looking away to the air scratching the back of his head with a nervous laugh. Kushina even noticed that Light cracked a small smile.
"That's one for the photo album you two! Oh I can't wait to share this with EVERYONE!"
"Mom!" Naruto whined.
Kushina ran away waving her phone about laughing aloud like an evil witch leaving Naruto behind with Light.
"I'm so sorry Light."
"That was my first kiss."
"Yeah i-it was mine too."
There was a silence between the two for a couple of moments.
"But like you said it was just a dumb little kiss."
"Yeah that's right."
The two chuckled.
"Actually it's about that time that I have to go now Naruto."
"What already? I was hoping to spend more time with you."
"Maybe next time though…we can hang out more."
"Sure how does tomorrow sound? Do you by any chance go to Konoha Elementary?"
"I do but I am going to be absent from school for a good while."
"How come?"
"Well we are leaving out of town for Tokyo."
"Oh well when do you get back?"
"We won't be back for about maybe a week."
"Oh…Well we will be seeing one another again right?" He asked with a smile.
"I reckon we will." She replied with a smile of her own.
"Okay then. Goodbye Light."
She gave him a node before turning away walking and Naruto watched her walk until he noticed her stopping. She turned back around with another but rather small blush on her cheeks. She walked up to Naruto and she suddenly gave him a hug catching him off guard.
"Thank you, Naruto."
She then released him and walked away leaving behind a goofy smiling Naruto as he watched her rejoin with her little sister and he Auntie A. She gave Naruto one more look over her shoulder with a smile with Naruto giving her a wave goodbye. In the background Kushina was standing there with a devious smile.
"She was something huh son?"
"Yeah she was."
"Well I am glad you had fun with your little girlfriend."
"S-S-She's not my girlfriend!" He nearly shouted turning to his mother with a blush.
"Naruto-Chan's got a girlfriend!" Kushina sings.
"Mooooooom! She's a girl and she's a friend but she is not my girlfriend!"
"Light and Naruto sitting in the tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G! First comes love. Then comes marriage. Then comes a baby in the baby carriage, sucking his thumb, wetting his pants, doing the hula, hula dance!"
"What's going on over here?" A male voice asked aloud.
It was Minato dressed in his winter coat joining his wife's side oblivious to what just happened. He just heard his wife singing that playground kissing song.
"Kushina you can be such a kid sometimes." He said.
"Sweetie our little Naruto met a girl."
"Oh is that right?"
"It was the eldest daughter of the Farron's." She replied.
"Oh…"
They both knew they passed away in a terrible accident.
"So what's your girlfriend's name?"
"Daaaaaaaaaaaaad!"
"I'm only poking fun at you son." He replied with a smile at his son's pouting face. "What's her name?"
"She didn't tell me her real name but she told me to call her Light."
"Huh that's interesting."
"You should've seen it. Both of them were having a snow ball fight. Then they were both under a tree and just so happened to be under mistletoe!"
"Oh boy." He replied with a chuckle.
"Yes and it grew from that tree right over there." She said pointing it out.
Minato looked but he looked perplexed when looking at the mistletoe in the tree.
"Oh it was so sweet! You should've seen it honey but I did get a money shot of the picture with the two sharing their first kiss. It's going in the photo album. Heck I will make it my screensaver!"
"That's strange I didn't know mistletoe grows on that particular tree?"
"What do you mean dad?"
Kushina was now sweating bullets.
"Is that a prop?"
Kushina stomps her boot down on Minato's making him grab his foot in pain now hopping about on one leg.
"Dad what's wrong?" Naruto asked aloud concerned.
"Oh he's fine sweetie." She replied with a sweet smile before looking to her husband. "Isn't that right honey?"
Minato can be seen sitting on the ground cradling his foot.
"Yup! Don't worry son. Your old man's fine!"
"But…?"
"Listentoyourmother!" He replied quickly.
Unfortunately the dream was once again cut short as we return back to present as Naruto wakes up from the world of unconsciousness finding himself someplace wet and damp. He managed himself to his knees before bringing a hand to his forehead where he hit his head and luckily it was not bleeding but it hurt like hell. He looked around and realized he was in the sewers once more. That's right he fell down a manhole having not been paying attention. He looked up seeing the daylight shine down from the open manhole above and he begins to climb back up. He didn't feel like going through the sewers again while although it may be that much more safe then above there was still that large alligator and there was that snake. Yeah he would take his chances above.
He climbed the ladder and when he reached the top propping his hands pulling himself up he felt the end of a barrel pointed into the back of his head causing him to freeze.
"Hands up!" The voice demanded.
Naruto knew that was not a voice of anyone of Wolfpack. However Naruto did as told slowly bringing his hands up and he was demanded to climb out and then demanded to turn around. What he found himself looking at were more survivors. Four of them in fact and he knew who these people were affiliated with or rather he had a suspicion. They were wearing gas masks like those scavengers he was forced to kill. Naruto inwardly cursed to himself. They held pistols aimed at him looking over his gear.
"I am not one of those things." Naruto replied.
"Yeah we know. However you are the one that killed our friends."
"What makes you say that?"
"We split off from Rain and the others to search for food and water but then one of us said he saw some guy with a sword on his back and the others decided to split off to grab his gear. Well you're the only one right here with a sword on this back and I am also willing to bet in this whole fucking city too. We found their bodies…and we found Sam's body too. You little fucker you killed her too!"
"She was bitten. I tried to help her but it was too late. She asked me to shoot her. She didn't want to turn into one of those things nor would you rather seeing her as one of them right now? As for your friends they tried to kill me. My instincts to survive just kicked in. I didn't want to kill them but they gave me no choice. It was kill or be killed."
"Crane…he's just a kid." The other one said.
"Shut up! You fucking piece of garbage you killed Sam!" He sounded like he was on the verge of sobbing. "I-I loved her." He brought his pistol up into Naruto's face. "And now I am going to kill you for the person you took away from me!"
"Then do it! Go on and pull the trigger. Just know you are blaming the wrong person. It was your leader Rain's decision to try and kill me. He's the one that made you all split up so that he can come after me with the woman you loved. If there is anyone that is ultimately responsible for her death it's him. So go on and shoot me right here and now as you must be so sure that she would want you to do something like this in her name."
Naruto can see the man's rage boiling within him but Naruto knew he was going to pull the trigger so before the man can even pull it Naruto swatted it away from his face with the back of his left hand as the gun fires off a shot into a building wall. Naruto then delivered a palm thrust sending the man across the air landing in a pile of garbage. Naruto turned tail and run taking advantage of the distraction he caused as Crane's comrades looked to him in the garbage.
"SHOOT HIM!"
They rest took notice of Naruto running away and the other two fired at Naruto's back but one of them didn't. Naruto turned around with his eyes morphing back to their demon like ones giving off a red glow and the next thing he did was twirl himself horizontally in the air spinning as one bullet went under and the other over him. He then landed on his feet to performing backward cartwheels evading away from the bullets that trailed after him before he performed a back flip to landing behind a dumpster now using it as cover. Naruto sat against the dumpster fighting against the threat of madness slamming the back of his head against the dumpster before the gunfire ceased.
"It's crazy with what this virus is doing to me. I move faster and even bullets seem to move a little slow enough for me to even dodge but only if I dodge precisely. One misstep and I could be hit by one. If I succumb myself too deeply I will just lose control again."
"Did you just see that?" One of them asked aloud. "Did we even hit him?"
"Yeah the way he moved. That was just…"
"Unnatural." The hesitant one finished.
Naruto saw an opened window to his right that was about twenty feet high and from his position he leaped up shocking the onlookers seeing him jump so high before he disappeared through the window. Naruto did not have time for another encounter like this so he ran as quickly as he could for the nearest exit breaking down a door finding two zombies inside. He quickly dispatched them with his sword before he leaped forward crashing through a window flipping down to landing upon one knee on the street. At least this short cut, if you can call it that, saved him traveling two blocks and he had two more to go seeing the Circular River far ahead but he had to get past all the zombies that infested the streets.
"All I got to do is follow along the river and I will reunite with mom and Kurama."
Naruto suddenly ducked from gunfire and noticed that it was from those four that were now chasing him with Crane having been the one that fired at him. Naruto inwardly cursed since it did attract the attention of the zombies in the street and these guys were a problem. He couldn't afford to let them catch on to his plan and risk them following him. Crane once again fired upon Naruto who ran across the street past zombies using them as moveable shield as Crane's bullets penetrated the walking dead coming toward them. Naruto had a plan as he ran for the complex door running up its steps before kicking the door open breaking away the automatic lock and him sprinting up the spiral staircase for the roof. Naruto was sure that they would give chase and he was right on the money as he got higher up he can hear their footsteps echo about the stairwell.
Finding himself emerging on the roof he continued on his path toward the roof he saw a fire hydrant on the wall and grabs it on his way up. The door to the roof is suddenly kicked open by Naruto as he quickly places the canister beside the door. This should do. He ran forward to then leaping across the gap between the two buildings before quickly moving behind some ventilation structures hiding waiting for them. He hears the door forced open and thus he reveals himself taking aim catching them by surprise before turning his aim on the fire hydrant next to them firing off a single shot forcing them apart and sprawling across the rooftop. In fact one of them was sent flying off the rooftop but he saved himself by grabbing the ledge saving himself from a twelve stories drop.
Naruto would take advantage of that situation knowing they would help him or at least Naruto hoped they would as he turns tail and continue in his flee. However one person amongst their group didn't stay to help and it was Crane as he continued his chase after Naruto leaping across to the next building as he sees Naruto leap across to the next ahead of him. All the while he was chasing Naruto he fired off more shots at him with Naruto slightly ducking his head as the bullets flew over his head. It was then he found himself running out of roof but he did see the river across the street from down below. He then dives behind a structure just in time shielding himself from the bullets from Crane as his other three comrades joined him by his side.
"There is nowhere for you to go now!"
"Funny, Rain said something similar." Naruto responded aloud cocking and loading his MK.23 pistol.
Crane signaled for them to move forward and as they all did getting closer and closer to where Crane was sure Naruto dived for cover they all discovered that he was no longer there. Where did he go? Naruto came dashing from the blind side swiftly that was not natural for a human to move while on his feet. He delivered a kick to Crane's spinal section sending the man sliding across the gravel of the rooftop as his three comrades turned as quickly as possible to counter the teen. As they turned to the sixteen year old they can see his eyes were completely different being demon like. Naruto kicked his right foot up disarming the man to his right sending his pistol through the air before he delivered his right fist across the one on his left's face sending him into the roof's gravel. As he did this action the third that was beside the one he just punched pulled the trigger of his pistol but Naruto leaned the top portion of his form to his left evading the bullet! The man to Naruto's right that he disarmed came forward to counter with a punch but once again Naruto delivers a kick into that one once again but in the stomach sending him sprawling on his back across the rooftop.
The other that he punched into the ground was getting back up and while he did the third man that fired at him was pulling back the trigger once more firing off his second shot but Naruto was to unnaturally quick as he rolled over the second one's back with the bullet going over his stomach barely missing. The one that fired did not see it coming as Naruto flipped himself toward him in the air delivering his right foot into his face sending him back flipping before landing front first into the gravel. The one that Naruto punched into the ground and just rolled over turned facing Naruto bringing up his pistol to fire but Naruto lowered his form to his left while moving forward evading the scavengers bullet before Naruto counters with an uppercut disarming the scavenger. Crane had finally gotten back up after Naruto's sneak attack having just seen the way this kid moved on his feet as he recovered from the little monsters powerful kick.
The way he moved up behind them was as if he had some sort of super speed while still visible but super-fast on his feet. Also the way this kid literally evaded those shots leaving a lens flare of his form behind as he did showered that he either had some sort of spider sense like that comic book hero Spider-Man enabling to sense impending danger. That or this kid had a ridiculous high level of hyper awareness. However seeing the glowing demon like eyes was the definitive proof this teen was not human at all.
After Crane saw his comrade upper cut he dashed at Naruto swishing out a knife but Naruto seeing this coming counters by maneuvering his hands to clasping Crane's stopping the blades path for his heart to twisting his assailants hand disarming and throwing the blade away. After he was disarmed Crane felt a series of six punches delivered to his chest before letting Crane be able to counter back with a kick but Naruto caught Crane's leg twisting it forcing Crane to spin within the air while at the same time as Naruto forced this he managed to turn Crane's form to allowing him to deliver yet another kick into Crane's lower back sending the man tumbling across the roof again.
Naruto then just stood there listening to their groaning all around him as they laid there beaten and as they did Naruto was once again fighting back from falling to deep into this virus's power. His eyes flickered between demon red and normal sky blue as he falls to a single knee punching his fist into the gravel grunting aloud in pain as his free hand shot up to grabbing his head. Crane saw Naruto in pain and took the opportunity crawling for his gun and when he finally grabbed it taking aim at Naruto the teen glared his way with those demons like eyes making Crane freeze in fear as Naruto snarled at him. What happened next was the teen leaped up into the air dropping down on him with his fist reared back and Crane thought that this was it. He was going to die right here and now and soon he would be with Sam. However instead of the sound of crunching bone what was heard instead was parting gravel as Naruto's right fist slammed right next to Crane's head.
Naruto removed his fist standing up stepping back away from Crane taking in huffs of air as he eyes glowered red.
"Don't follow me!" He warned in a threatening and chilling tone.
The next thing Crane witnessed was seeing the teen run and leap off the roof. Crane thought he committed suicide as that was a twelve floor drop! However he knew that what he just saw what Naruto can do, what he is capable of, that he most likely can survive such a drop. Naruto came to a hard landing on the street below on his feet before he suddenly sprints across the street leaping over cars and over the ledge coming to a landing on a sidewalk along the river. He once again falls to his knees and he begins to slam his forehead into the cement and after about twelve times he seemed to have stopped the madness from taking over. His eyes blue and now blood leaking from his forehead and already his wound was healed.
"…Damn it Naruto you are going to deep." He told himself crawling to the edge looking at his face in the reflection of the rivers flowing water.
All of the dirt he can see on his face and the dried blood along with his now recent blood coming from his forehead he just looked terrible and he can see the deprive of sleep in his eyes. He quickly cleaned off his face before looking down the river. Down here there was little to no activity so he should be safe if he traveled along this route straight back to Kurama and his mother. Besides with the recent recall of one of his most cherished memories he wanted to know if his mother still had that picture on her phone.
He stood himself up leaning up against the concrete wall smiling looking up into the sky.
"I got to see that picture…and please God let me dream like that again."
Wolfpack was once again back on the streets patrolling and looking for any clue of their target and as they were walking LUPO happened to be walking by VECTOR. Ever since their little dramatic session at their safe house the group had been silent not having said a word.
"So why did you do what you did? Did you do it for Umbrella or was it something else entirely?"
"…I already told you all that I had my reasons and reasons that don't concern any of you."
