Scenes Referenced: Still during the two year time skip. And, just as a reminder, the Fourth Hokage did write a key (it's a fuuinjustu scroll) to Naruto's seal, and sent it by frog to Jiraya for safekeeping. Naruto doesn't know about the existence of this key.
Incapacitate
Indeed, Naruto's wide cerulean eyes now glowed scarlet. Her round pupils, slashed and slitted. The kyuubi's sinister chakra boiled around the two of them, hissing on contact.
This easy? It was this easy?
Kurama's serrated smile stretched white in the darkness. Delightful. Delightful!
The exit to his prison, right here in his arms. The Fourth Hokage had given Jiraya the key to the Eight Sign Seal? He hadn't seen such through Naruto's eyes, so the Toad Sage must have kept it a secret from even his student. And now the old fool was, hah, fiddling with it! Did the Sage think the monster within the seal would not notice? Kurama's heart fluttered, his skin going flushed and clammy. Had he been this severely underestimated?
Goodness. The demon combed his claws through his subdued jinchuuriki's blonde hair, venting some of his nervous energy. Really, he should . . . calm down. This sweet taste of freedom would not last forever, minutes at best. It wouldn't do to be this . . . excited.
His hands trembled.
Something, perhaps the human-like persona he had cultivated, began to strip away like a second skin. It had been so long.
The girl in his arms stirred. Her demonic eyes blinked slowly. Poisoned and corrupted, it seemed even the slightest movement required great energy. Hmm. Kurama's gleaming grin widened at the sight. Really, he would be disappointed if she had succumbed to him entirely.
"What . . . what's even happening . . . ?" Naruto rasped. Her head nodded off to the side, unable to support its own weight.
Was this her way of resisting him? How cute.
Kurama, drunk on the possibility of his release, leaned in. Her little heart was right there, ripe for tearing out. Ah, wait. Of course, he couldn't kill the girl, but . . . did the kit always look so biteable?
His blood sang for carnage. Naruto was such a small morsel, she wouldn't even amount to a mouthful. Maybe he could-
Naruto's creaking voice cut through the kyuubi's thoughts. "God, you're such a bastard..." The half-delirious kunoichi squirmed, face scrunching into a scowl. Her hands against his chest curled into fists before falling to her sides. More resistance? Perhaps it was time to teach this child to fear him. The monster purred, deep within his chest.
"No no, not now." Kurama soothed the crease between her brows with the pad of his thumb. "Hush."
Would she hate him if he killed her sensei?
Jiraya would only be able to recall what happened next in fragments.
Unholy screeching. His student's skin peeling off of her boiling body. Pain. The building crumbling around them.
Blood. So much blood.
Note: A thanks to my lovely beta zbird. She was able to look over the chapter before it was posted this time. And, of course, a thanks to all of the people who favorited/followed/reviewed. Namely Vaughn Tyler, idea ghette, Freaye, Rubyia, Anon, and the three guests. I'm starting to recognize some familiar faces! On whether or not this story is 'slow burn' depends on your meaning of slow burn. Kurama's fascination with Naruto is only going to escalate from here on out.
