A/N: Well here is part 3/6 of the region showdown. Hoenn is my all time favorite region, and I can only hope to do it justice. We'll see if I get to it. Enjoy.
Disclaimer: I still don't own Pokemon.
Ruby's POV
Just breathe. Soon this will all be over and I can go back to figuring the whole Sapphire thing out. I still can't believe I managed to get into this position. Somehow I was unanimously nominated to lead the Hoenn meeting even though Emerald would be a much better candidate. Oh well. Here goes nothing.
As I walked into the class room, I discovered a new found respect for our teachers who do this everyday. Everyone's eyes were on me. Well that part I didn't mind, it was the fact that they were all depending on me to lead them. Stupid fangirls always obsessing over us.
-Ahem, so I guess I call this meeting to order? I began uncertainly.
-Oh brilliant fearless leader. Figure that out all by yourself? Drawled an over-sarcastic Sapph.
-So we need ideas for our contest. No idea is stupid, except for a bike race. We aren't doing a bike race. I pressed on ignoring Sapph's comment.
-How about some sort of battle contest? Asked an over excited freshman.
-You mean like the one that happened today? Sapph said sarcastically.
Seriously what was her problem today?
The poor boy didn't say anything after that. So much for no stupid ideas.
-How about a Pokemon contest like they held in Lilycove? Ask a girl in dark purple, Ariel I remembered.
-Well Little Bow Peep the thing is Sinnoh has those now so unless we want to do something that doesn't diversify us, that idea's out.
-First Little Bow Peep wears pink not purple and second that was a perfectly good suggestion and gets to go on the board. I said icily as I shot Sapph a warning look.
In response she just shrugged like she couldn't care less. I turned around and wrote "Contest Hall" on the white board.
-Anyone else? I asked.
Surprise surprise, no one threw an idea out in fear of being rebuked by Sapph.
Finally Emerald shot me a meaningful glance. In response I nodded while hiding a smirk. Emerald and I had a contingency plan in case people were... Unwilling to put ideas out.
-Well, Hoenn is mostly ocean right? So why not do a water based theme? Emerald suggested.
I turned to wright "ocean" on the board in blue marker.
-Wait, I'm from Lavaridge and I don't dig the ocean. A girl with fiery red hair spoke up.
I looked at Sapph to see if she would have a snappy comeback and was surprised to see curiosity in her deep blue eyes instead.
-Hey why do you look so much like Flannery? She accused the girl with a point of her index finger.
-Oh, I don't know. Maybe because I'm her sister? The name's Fia and you best not forget it! The newly revealed Fia practically shouted.
I almost couldn't hide my laugh.
Looks like Sapph has some competition in the spunk category, I thought to myself as I watched Sapph's eyes narrow.
-Good point Fia, I smiled, Hoenn is known for being the "birthplace" of sea and land.
-What about Foretree natives? Land and sea doesn't cover the skies. A spikey haired boy quizzed.
-And Rustboro is the leading city in technology and advancement into the future.
-Don't forget meteor falls and Granite cave, not to mention Sky Pillar, Cave of Orgins, and Victory Road. Hoenn has the most famous caves in the world.
-And there's the huge dessert in the middle of the region.
-Not to mention the rainforest leading up to Foretree city.
-Safari Zone.
-All the islands in the ocean.
-World's center of trade is in Slateport.
-2nd biggest beach after Undella bay.
-Ash fields.
And my personal favorite
-The Pokemon League is on a freaking island! If that's not awesome then I don't know what is.
-Ok, then I think we found our specialty: diverse habitats. Now the question is: what contest should we make?
-Well that's easy, snorted Sapph. An obstacle race, to test physical capabilities of trainers and how well they can incorporate their Pokemon to the landscape.
Well there's an idea.
-And as far as technology goes we can make it a video game that feels lifelike. The Rustboro girl chimed in.
-Like Spy Kids 3? I like it, I commented.
The next 2 hours passed as we perfected the idea. Then I nominated Emerald to run it to Blaine, who no doubt, was the only one capable of creating such technology. Ironic because he lived in Kanto, but I heard he studied at Lavaridge with Flannery and Fia's father. By the time he got back, only Sapph and I were still there waiting for him, everyone else went to bed.
-So what was that? I asked Sapph. You were acting like a sarcastic ass in there.
Her lips tightened.
-Well I was just reminded of how stupid people can be.
-You attacked some pretty innocent people who did nothing to you.
-Oh, so Fia didn't attack me?
-Well she attacked because she, with good reason, thought you were going to attack her.
-Why am I the bad guy? We're suppose to be friends and friends stick up for each other not watch idly while the other gets attacked, then defends the attacker.
-You're right. Friends stick up for each other just like you were suppose to stick up for me in that classroom instead of leaving me out to dry and uprooting my authority every chance you got!
Sapph narrowed her eyes.
-Then I guess we aren't friends.
Something inside me broke and I had to ignore the lump in my throat as I put as much steel in my voice as I could and said,
-I guess not.
Then I stalked off the opposite direction Sapph did. And every step seemed like a canyon between us. But neither one of us realized that we left Emerald in the middle.
The next day.
Emerald's POV
Before we begin this part of the chapter I'd like to introduce myself seeing as how the author has thoughtlessly excluded me in almost the ENTIRETY of this story to this point *glare*. Hi, my name's Emerald. And yes that is a weird name. I'm about 6 foot 1' with white hair. But wait! Emerald is suppose to be a midget with a Napoleon complex who gels his huge blond hair straight up! Nope, sorry to disappoint. I'm just a guy who was kidnapped as a kid and was raised in a whacked-out school. And just so there is no confusion yes, I have all my limbs and they are all normal size. My favorite hobbies are moonlit dinner, long walks on the beach, and breaking the fourth wall. Now back to the story.
Well, that went exactly as expected. Sapph's to strong headed for her own good. And Ruby's logical approach can come out condescending plus I'm pretty sure he has a superiority complex. So now I have three choices: pick a side which is suicide, stay out of it which is lonely, or try to be the bridge which is nearly impossible. Guess which one I chose. 3rd option. Oh yeah this is going to be SO much fun.
While I was thinking this, the teachers were announcing our contest. At worst, people at least looked curious and at best *ahem Gold ahem* they were practically ecstatic.
-Lifelike video games! This may be the greatest moment of my life! Ow Crys! I'm still healing from your last kick!
Like I do so often, I was taking in all the action but not participating. I felt detached as I witnessed White and Blue sharing a high five and Red share a quip with Yellow and Green. Ruby was chatting up some fangirls just for the benefit of pissing Sapph off who was trying to ignore it by having a one way conversation with Silver. Black and Grey were going over blueprints for their next project and I was thoroughly alone.
Finally the teacher told us to grab a headset that logs us into the game and head to our dorms so we could lay down while our consciousnesses were transferred to the game. I thought about heading to the dorm I shared with Black, Grey, and Silver, but I decided to go to Ruby's instead, as I kind of promised Ruby that I would. When I opened the door I realized why he invited me. All the furniture was moved to the sides and in its place were a very varied selection of hammocks, bean bags, rolly chairs, and trampoline chairs. And why the heck was Gold sitting in a throne? In front of each was a name in very neat scrawl. I found one that read Emerald in front of a trampoline chair. I was one of the first people to arrive, so I was able to watch as everyone filed in and found their spot. Ruby was on my left and Sapph was next to him. I almost felt sorry for him when Sapph shot him a look that was pretty damn nasty. After everyone was seated, Blue stood up and said
-Thank you all for coming, special thanks to Greenie for letting me throw this party in your dorm. So here's the logic behind this set up: when we get game over we wake up can and still monitor the game from the other's view with a super special TV Black and Grey made!
Ok, so far I have so many questions. Like special TV? Or why does it appear that she's trying to not so subtly pair Red and Yellow together by seating them on love seat. Also why does Crys' throne resemble Gold's. And last but not least, Greenie?!
I decided to to leave the questions for later and slipped on my headset then flipped the on switch. The following feeling was... Unsettling. It felt like I was jerked from my body and woke up at a friend's house. That is if my friend was a squirrel who lived in a tree. Yes, I was stuck in a tree. I carefully climbed down and assessed my surroundings. I was in a grassland almost like a neighborhood park. The grass was overly green with big trees dotting the land scape. There was even a crystal clear creek running to my left. Everything looked and felt so real that it was hard to believe it was a game. then Blaine's face appeared in the sky.
-Hello students! Welcome to the virtual world of Hoenn-like landscapes. Each different section is modeled after either a rout or city in Hoenn. If you look at your right hand you will see a Pokétch that displays a compass. Your objective is simple head north until you reach the Pokemon league. Be warned, because this is all virtual, you cannot actually die, however if you suffer enough bodily harm, and yes you will feel pain though considerably less than usual, you will get a game over and be removed. You have exact virtual copies of your actual Pokemon. They are programmed not to battle, however, they can assist you in the course. Be warned, there is a maximum Fly limit and after you break it, you will fall from however high up you are and the HM won't work the duration of the game. The first person to cross the finish line ends the game and wins for their region. Begin!
I wasted no time in finding north and started a mild jog, no sense in tiring myself out. The first thing I should do is try to find either Ruby or Sapph so we can tackle this together, assuming they would work together. As I jogged along, I started picking out humanoid shapes all headed the same direction that I was. No point in changing my current course, while the way north was still clear. And the path continued like that for about 10 minutes of brisk walking/jogging, when I caught the first sign of a city landscape. It was like some bizarre artist wanted to paint a park landscape then suddenly changed his mind and started painting a city. You could actually see the line where it went from nature to urban. After I crossed the line, the only sound I heard was the clicking of my shoes on the cement. It was really eerie as I have never been in a city this big that was completely quite. I pressed on. So far there hadn't been any challenges and I wanted to make it as far as I could before they kicked in.
BOOM!
I silently cursed. I just had to jinx it. A giant meteor crashed into the city block next to the one I was currently on. Debris was thrown into the air as a small mushroom cloud formed over the ruins of the said block. Well so much for avoiding the challenges. Meteors, albeit smaller than the first one, rained down on the city. Some were big enough to destroy part of a street, others a small building. It soon became clear where they wanted us to go. A giant dome building stood taller than even the skyscrapers. It was in the only part of the city that wasn't getting the fiery shower from the heavens. In fact, it was SO obvious that I decided NOT to go. Instead I kept heading north. I did this for 3 reasons: 1. we all wanted to go North not West. 2. When the game wants you to go somewhere, it probably isn't in your personal health's interest to go. 3. If I knew Sapph at all, then all she heard is:
-Blah blah blah go North. Blah blah blah to win.
And something as simple as a Meteor shower wasn't going to stop her. This was probably my best chance to meet up with her. So going against all my instincts I kept heading North, into the thick of the meteors' destruction. Hell was crashing all around me, but I wouldn't be stopped. I don't half-ass anything.
CRASH!
Another huge meteor slammed into the building across the street from where I currently am. Debris showered down, but I had already gone prone and had my head tucked in. Still rocks raining down on you doesn't feel good. After I felt safe enough (safe being a relative term) I started to sprint North. No use in holding back as there was a pretty good possibility I wouldn't get past the meteors. Meteors were hitting all around me tearing up the street ahead of me and behind me. Buildings were on fire and about to collapse, but I kept pushing on. Suddenly, I heard a huge whistle behind me and I foolishly turned around. A meteor the size of a king size bed was headed straight towards me, and I froze unable to move or look away I just stood there like an idiot as I accepted my fate as I finally managed to close my eyes.
CRASH!
Wait a second? Wasn't a meteor in the head suppose to hurt? I opened my eyes to see a Blaziken landing with Ruby in its arms and meteor fragments landing all around it.
Saph came running into view grinning.
-See Ruby told ya Emerald wouldn't be going to that "safe building." He knows to keep his eye on the prize.
Ok, so they were at least talking to each other again... Even if they were only arguing.
-Whatever. Next time you send Blaziken to save him, tell him to set me down first. Ruby shot back clearly annoyed with the humanoid fire pokemon and its owner.
-How about. "Thanks Sapph" or " I owe you one for pulling me out of the way of a falling buildings!" Sapph retorted.
-Maybe I wouldn't be there if you didn't stop me from going to the dome building.
-Ya realize that was a trap right? Only idiots will go there.
Meanwhile Gold's POV
-So glad we're in this safe building right Black and Red?
-So much calmer in here, Red agreed.
Back to Emerald's POV
-Guys cut it out. We need to keep heading North if we want to stay in the lead assuming we have it. I interjected before Ruby could say something.
Then I marched onward hoping they would follow me.
-"thanks for the save Sapph" Oh no problem Rald. Sapph grumbled as she started following.
-Hey Sapph you can tell Toro to let me down now! Ruby called.
But the Blaziken had an evil smile that matched Sapph's as he jumped in the air to kick more meteors out of the sky's still holding Ruby. And I had probable cause that Sapph wasn't anywhere close to letting go of the grudge.
Thanks to Ruby's and my fiery friends, we were able to keep a good pace and made it to the next arena in no time. Unfortunately the next area was a desert. And it looked pretty damn big considering it was all we could see in the horizon. We wasted no time gawking and started walking at a brisk pace. The dessert wind has sand in it which was uncomfortable against our exposed skin and it was a nightmare for our eyes. Not to mention our trio was very aware of the scratches, bruises, and in Ruby's case small burns from the doom city. Sapph had to return her Blaziken so it didn't get knocked out.
About 10 minutes into our uncomfortable walk, I started to get thirsty.
10 minutes after that and I was drenched in sweat and uncomfortably hot.
30 minutes later and I was starting to get dizzy, but we pressed onward.
I began to lose track of time as my new purpose in life was was to put one foot in front of the other.
-It had to be a desert. Sapph was mumbling. Ice no problem. I love the sea and the jungle is my second home but it had to be a freaking desert.
Then she promptly fainted.
Ah, what the heck. It's not like I have anything better to do, my addled brain thought as I joined Sapph in dreamland.
Ruby's POV
Great. Stuck in the middle of a cruel albeit admittably beautiful virtual desert and my friends get heatstroke and faint. Well I guess I could go for a rest. That city really did a number on me, but this desert... I don't know why but it feels like home. We've been walking for two hours and I feel totally normal. Not even thirsty and I definitely should be.
-Alright Garchomp. Sorry but you're going to have to be a glorified umbrella. And Swampert, use mist around us to keep them cool.
After a couple minutes they started coming to.
-About time you two. We need to keep moving so tell me when ya'll can stand. Rald, you can ride on Swampert and Saph can ride on Garchomp. I haven't seen anyone else so that means we're in good shape.
I gave them a minute to digest what I just said.
-Wait Ruby, how are you ok? This desert is intense and you look no worse for wear. Saph accused.
-I guess I'm just made of sterner stuff. I said smugly.
Truth be told I had no idea why. This desert just felt familiar. Almost like home.
-Please. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. But what I want to know is why this desert gives off a really bad aura. Like its evil or something.
-Well either desert or home, you kept us in the game so this works for us. Rald said.
-We need to keep moving, I said while bringing us back to virtual reality, ignoring Sapph's insult.
We started moving again, I was walking, Sapph was being carried and looked like she wanted to punch sommething, and Rald was riding my Swampert. After about an hour, we start to make out our next destination in the horizon. The flat dessert gave way to ridiculously tall trees. We were still at least another hour away when Sapph's sharp eye and high vantage point caught site of something.
-Three objects coming up FAST! She warned. Crap! It's Red riding his Archanine, Black is surfing the dunes on a Gliscore?, and Gold seems to be on a Tyflosion-powered skateboard. We have to move.
-They'll get to the forest first, but we'll have the advantage because we have Saph, I speculated. Right now our goal is to get out of here ASAP so we can win for Hoenn.
I hopped on my Garchomp who could go considerably faster than I could even with two people on its back now and told it to beeline for the forest. 20 meters to go, the three black haired boys raced passed us only pausing long enough for Gold to shout something about the finish line. I doubt he realized that part of his shorts were singed away leaving his not so manly heart boxers exposed to the public. For his sake I hoped Crys wasn't around.
When our group reached the forest we were forced to dismount due to the trees growing so close together. I quickly thought of an alternative solution.
-Sapph release your Blaziken and Rald let your Sceptile out as well. They're giving us a path through the forest canopy. I said with only a hint of reluctance. This was going to be dirty.
My plan was simple and not at all well thought through. The gist of it was we climb to the forest canopy and the two Pokemon would assist Rald and me through the branches while Sapph does what she does best: go wild.
After about 5 min of wading through branches and managing not to fall to my virtual death, we saw Red, Gold, and Black below and slightly ahead of us. It seems they took the blast a path method as they had their fire types continually using flamethrower to make a path. Regardless we were making better time then they were. What worried me is that they were paving a path for all the other contestants.
-We need at go faster. Sapph called.
She had caught sight of the competition as well and couldn't resist adding.
-Love the boxer choice, heart boy!
I swear Gold's neck snapped 90° around to look at Sapph and his face was scarlet.
-Come on put more ummph into it! Gold cried desperately.
With Sapph's encouragement (which consisted of mostly verbal abuse and some physical prodding) we managed to not only pull ahead but also put some good distance between us and our competition.
By this time we made it out, the three of us were a well-oiled machine. Sapph led us as she was able to pick the best path through the treetops and Rald and I kept our eyes out for any competition that might try to sneak attack.
-Nope, nope, nope, nope, and nope, I said rather emphatically. I chhose life!
Before us was a series of floating islands which were suspended over nothing. All that we could see was a dizzying white both above and below the islands.
-Somehow I don't think I've ever seen this place in Hoenn, said Emerald, attempting some dry humor.
-I have... Once. It's called mirage island... And it just about killed me, I said dramatically.
Sapph's POV
This is the best game ever!
Aside from that stupid desert everything has been going swimmingly. And now we get to cross floating islands that are hovering over certain death. That's pretty awesome.
-Why did I agree to this? Sissy boy complained for the umpteenth time.
-Because we want to win. I snapped back.
I swear he thinks he's the only one who can say anything intelligent, yet all he's doing is complaining. Sometimes I want to knock the condescending smirk off his face.
-Just do it for Hoenn, Ruby. Emerald advised.
-I'm from Johto, Ruby grumbled under his breath.
Ok, that was too far. Of course I know he didn't mean it, but still fury washed through my veins.
-Then why not just go to their side and ditch us "barbarians" like I know you've been dying to do since you met me! I exploded at him.
He physically flinched at my words but quickly regained his composure. Where there was shock and hurt, even if it was only for an instant, hard steel and an impenetrable poker face quickly moved in.
-Fine maybe I will, he said as spitefully as he could manage.
Uuugggggg! Why does he have to be such a major drama queen!
Tense was a nice word for the mood after that exchange. When we came to the end of the island there were two more floating just jumping distance away from the one we were currently on, one to the left the other the right. Ruby glared at me and I could see fire in that stare. I matched his glare's intensity with my own. With neither of us giving an inch in our deafening silent argument, we had no choice but to continue. I jump left and he jumped right.
Once again we failed to realize that we had left Emerald in the middle.
Emerald's POV
And this is what I was afraid of, they're making me choose a side. Neither side was safe. If I chose Sapph's then Ruby would be furious considering I would put her, a girl I met just a few months ago ahead of my best friend. But if I chose Ruby, Sapph would feel betrayed by one of the few people she felt comfortable enough to be around. And she is stubborn enough to never talk to either of us again.
Figuring it would be easier to convince Ruby to forgive me than it would for Sapph, I jumped to the left.
Blue's POV (In the room)
-So much drama! Isn't it just so exciting Greenie!
-Tch stop calling me that. *Pesky woman*
-Are you still mad about that? Geez you shouldn't take it so hard. I mean it was in the name of love.
I swear this guy doesn't have a romantic bone in his body. No time like the present to change that.
-You know I actually wanted to play the game, but I guess you ruined that for me. So I'm soooo sorry for not being happy about your stupid obsession.
-Aww you're no fun! Oh look! Emerald chose Sapph's path! The plot thickens!
-You realize that these are real people that you're meddling with. You can't just use them as your entertainment.
-Of course I can! It's my job to make sure things stay interesting.
-Oh and who gave you this job, he asked while raising an eyebrow.
~That would be meee~ I sang cheerfully.
-Tch why do I even try.
Emerald's POV
-Look Sapph, all I'm saying is that there was just a misunderstanding, I tried reasoning with her.
-How many different meanings does "I'm from Johto" and "I guess not" when I asked if we weren't friends!
-Ok, yeah, he screwed up. But everyone does and so do you. You accused him of not being your friend. And let me tell you, as his long standing friend, Ruby hid it well, but that broke him, I warned her.
-Why on earth would that break him? He can't handle rejection? He must be weaker than I thought, Sapph sneered.
Did she really just said that? To think Sapphire Birch would call Ruby weak.
-Wow you really don't know. Ruby said you didn't recognize him, but I guess it never really sunk in.
-W-What do you mean, she stammered.
-It's really not my place to say, but I will tell you this: No matter what you think, Ruby will always be your friend. And the fact that he hasn't given up after all these years ,especially considering how much you've changed, is astounding. Don't mess it up.
-What the Hell are you Talking about! Start making sense! She pleaded.
In response I just walked past her and rode off on my Rapidash. We lost too much time, and we still had to win for Hoenn.
I had my Rapidash going full speed and using Bounce to get from island to island. Technically it isn't fly so hopefully it won't drain my timer. I also noticed that Sapph was running alongside her Blaziken, who was aiding her in island jumping.
I was so caught up in my thoughts and wasn't paying enough attention to where I was going. All of a sudden Rapidash bucked me off his back sending me tumbling forward… off the island. Shit.
I reached for my Pokeballs instinctively only to realize that I left my team in the saddle bag. So an endless drop into oblivion without Pokemon. Fantastic.
Then the impossible happened.
A Bisharp and Shiftree both jumped off and started diving after me. They seemed to be tied together by a large vine that looked suspiciously like one made with vinewhip.
The Bisharp caught me first. Although I have to say that it was an interesting catch. To avoid cutting me with his blades, he caught me by hooking his feet underneath my armpits. And man that hurt.
As soon as the Shiftree saw that I was caught, he opened his leaf fans as far as they would go and created a parachute making us slow down significantly.
Good slower is better.
Then the Bisharp extended his knife hands as far as the would go, revealing butterfly knives. Then he started spinning them, fast. He rotated them faster and faster while keeping his hands pointed up. He started spinning his knife hands so quickly that a current of air was pushing the parachute up. Pretty soon we were actually raising back toward the island. Ruby and Sapphire were there to greet me with crossed arms.
-You idiot! I can't believe you went skydiving without me! Sapph complained.
-Believe me it wasn't my choice, I commented.
-What were you thinking! Next time you plan on dying, clue me in so I can go with you. Sapph without you to calm her down is terrifying, Ruby chuckled dryly.
I knew this was each of their way of trying to shake off the heart stopping situation, so I gave them a pass for the poorly timed jokes.
-Wait, Ruby, where did you come from? Sapph demanded to know.
Ruby's face turned his namesake and he began to stutter.
-W-well y-you s-s-s-see, um the uh p-paths umm in-tersected...? Yeah that's right they intersected! And its a good thing too, otherwise Rald would be history. Am I right, buddy?
Sapph just stared at him with an unbelieving look in her eye, but amazingly she didn't pursue his obvious lie, or comment on his poor tactic of changing the subject.
-We need to keep going if we want to evem stand a chance to win, I said reming the duo.
-Right, they said in unision.
We made our way across the floating island with our various Pokemon's assistance.
-What. The. Crap. Ruby's less than eloquent expression pretty much wrapped up my thoughts as well.
Before us stood a giant laboratory area, filled with different machines. As we wondered through the maze of gadgets and showy computers, Sapph caught sight of a door at the far wall. Naturally we all raced towards it. The door was plain gray metal sealed tightly against the wall. Beside it was something that looked like a hand scanner but there was not template to put your hand over. And perhaps the strangest thing of all was a sign that read:
Enter the Trick House if You Dare!
The Key is Right under Your Nose!
-We don't have a choice. Its the only way to keep going north, Saphh said earnestly.
She's as focused on winning as ever.
-Question is how do we get in? Ruby wondered aloud.
-Isn't it obvious? Sapph asked.
-No not really.
-Of course not!
Ruby and I said at the same time.
-It's under our nose. It means its a sensor that detects lips, she explained a little smugly.
Ruby's expression lead me to believe that he wished what she said didn't make so much sense. Ahhhh lovers feud. Kinda makes me sick, but it's also really entertaining.
Sapph pressed her lips against the sensor and the door swung open automatically, without a sound.
-Well come on. Get a move on! Sapph demanded when she saw our stunned faces.
-Right! I said as I ran through the door with Ruby on my heels.
-Whoa.
Sapph's reaction was spot on. The room in front of us was beautiful in a very shiny sort of way.
Sapphire's POV
Before us stood a beautiful nature scene that had a very dizzying effect. Everything had a surreal effect, which made focusing kinda hard. But something seemed… off.
Emerald didn't seen to think so, as he started marching forward when I realized what it was. There were random articles of clothing on the floor, and the smell of smoke in the air like something had been singed recently.
-Hold it Rald, somethings not right here.
-What are you talking about? This place looks great! He said carelessly.
-Take a look around. Things don't look right, there's an odd smell, and it's called the trick room. There's definitely something big going on here.
-Are those clothes? Ruby asked, appalled by the destruction of his passion.
-Yes, and worse, I recognize those heart boxers, they were Gold's. Either he decided to take a very abrupt step outside of everyone's comfort zone or he's been eliminated with only his boxers to tell the tale, I said rather darkly.
A/N And scene. Well so much has happened since the last update. Sun and Moon are out, Z never happened, and I am still a terrible updater. Well consistency is key so at least I have that going for me. I'll try harder to get more updates going to prove that this story isn't dead. Until then enjoy the first half of the Hoenn chapter.
I also appreciate feedback. Am I the least bit funny? Did you like my OOC Emerald or hate me for making him that way? Is my lazy dialog confusing and annoying, or did it even phase you? I won't know unless you tell me.
Until next time,
Exzachary is out!
