Mortal Kombat II
CHAPTER 8: FOGHORN LEGHORN

Down in the Soul Chamber, Foghorn Leghorn was freezing someone in a chunk of ice.

"A pity you could not have cooperated—" said Foghorn with a shake of his head—"collaborated, that is."

Suddenly, as Foghorn looked to his left, a yellow-and-black-clad Cyborg walked toward him. "You are ordered to the Lin Kuei temple for assimilation."

There was something familiar about that particular Cyborg—the voice behind the metallic sound, his general body shape, even his colors looked familiar to Foggy.

The blue-clad Rooster knew exactly who it was, his eyes growing to the size of saucers. "Raimundo Pedrosa!"

Still walking toward Foghorn, Raimundo pointed at himself as he corrected (in an unwilling, brainwashed sort of way), "I am Lin Kuei unit L-K-4-D-4. You will come with me."

As the yellow-and-black-clad Cyborg stopped in front of him, Foghorn shook his head in pity of his friend. "I am sorry for what they did to you, son—sorry, that is . . ." But then the blue-clad ninja Rooster scowled as he reluctantly crouched into a fighting stance. "But I will not comply—comply, that is."

As Raimundo attempted a first strike, Foghorn performed his Ground Ice move, freezing Raimundo's feet to the ground in a little ice puddle. The blue-clad ninja then smacked his friend away with an ice sword that shattered into pieces. (A/N: I can say "smacked" because it was with the broad side of his "sword.")

As Foghorn Leghorn jumped up, the recuperated Raimundo Pedrosa grabbed him by the foot and threw him down on the ground before releasing a newly-designed bomb from his "chest." Not being the smartest character, Foghorn didn't notice the bomb between his feet as he got back up before it went off and sent him flying in the air for about a second. But as Raimundo ran up to him, the ninja Rooster created his Ice Clone, freezing his brainwashed friend as the latter touched it. Seeing the advantage, Foggy performed his Slide move, knocking Rai down.

The brainwashed Cyborg teleported himself behind Foghorn, which proved to be a mistake. Despite not being well-known for his intelligence (or a really keen joke-telling), Foghorn was no doubt the cream of the crop when it came to fighting and vigilance for he sensed Raimundo behind him before spinning around low and knocking his friend down, ending the fight.

Looking down at his defeated friend, Foghorn put his fists on his hips. "I will face—I say, I will face the Lin Kuei when my task is done—done, that is—not before."

Looking up at Foghorn, Raimundo disappeared. Behind his friend's dissipating cybernetic "aura" were Kim Possible and Boog.

"The readings were getting stronger and now they're gone. I . . ." started Kim before noticing the blue-clad figure before them. "Steelbeak!? But . . . you're dead!"

Nudging his partner in the arm, Boog whispered, "Dead and fat, it looks like."

Foghorn, with a squinted eye, spoke aside to the readers as he thumbed in Boog's direction. "That boy's about as hypocritical as a crooked politician." As the two Special Forces operatives approached him, Foggy removed the mask that covered his beak. "I am not the Steelbeak you speak of, as you can—I say, as you can see by my beak. He was my brother—brother, that is."

"Your . . . brother?" asked Kim.

"Yep, I am Foghorn Leghorn, but you can call me Foggy; most—I say, most people do anyhow. I am only here to learn Steelbeak's fate."

Looking at one another, Boog nodded to Kim.

The S.F. lieutenant reluctantly said, "He was killed by someone named Barnyard Dawg."

Hearing the newfound information, Foghorn stared back in dead seriousness. "Where will I find him?"

"Try the Coliseum. That's where . . ."

Suddenly, a green aura coming out of the maw of the Soul Chamber floated around the three Kombatants. Shere Kahn's voice could be heard. "You have disturbed our regeneration process."

Appearing in front of them, Shere Kahn tightened his fists.

Boog gritted his teeth. "Shere Kahn." The S.F. commander then grabbed him by the throat. "Gotcha!"

But before Boog could bring a blow to his face, Shere Kahn used his telekinetic powers to stop his fist; it was then followed by telekinetically forcing the S.F. commander's other hand off his neck. Shere Kahn then telekinetically shoved Boog away from him before sending chunks of the ceiling to rain down on top of the latter, leaving him buried in the rubble.

"Boog!" exclaimed Kim in extreme concern before using her ring to blast away pieces of the rubble, frantically looking for her friend.

"Stay with me, Boog!" pleaded Kim, hoping her friend could hear her through the rubble.

Shere Kahn then turned to Foghorn, getting into a fighting stance. "We will break you as well."

Crouching to fight, Foghorn glared. "Not if I break you first."

Shere Kahn struck first as he telekinetically picked up the Lin Kuei ninja and threw him to the ground a couple times. A couple times was all that Foghorn would stand for as he performed his Ground Ice move again and retaliated by punching the multiple-souled being two times, followed by smacking him with the broad side of an ice sword two more times.

Leaving him incapacitated, Foghorn looked down at Shere Kahn. "I remain whole, for now."

Having her commanding officer mostly unburied now, Kim turned to her wrist-comm. "Kim Possible to Command. Kim Possible to Command. Do you read?"

Boog grunted. "I . . . I can't feel my arms."

"Kim Possible to Command. Do you read?" the S.F. lieutenant repeated into her wrist-comm.

"Will he be okay?" asked Foghorn in concern.

"Yeah," answered Kim, "but he needs a medic as soon as possible."

"No pun intended on your last name, daughter?" chuckled Foggy.

As the S.F. lieutenant gave him the stink-eye, the blue-clad Rooster shuddered before looking to the readers again. "That girl's about as cold as the character I portray." He then focused back on Kim. "I must—I say, I must go to the Coliseum."

"But I need your help to get Boog to—" started the Special Forces lieutenant before being interrupted.

"There's a portal to the south—south, that is. You can use it to transport yourselves back to Earthrealm. If you'd—I say, if you'd stop talkin' and hear what I say and go—to the portal, that is—you'd be halfway there by now." Walking off, Foghorn muttered to the readers, "That girl's talkin' is just like taxes—there's just no end to it."

As Foghorn went off-screen, Kim glared. "Why that miserable . . . that portal better be close."

In the Coliseum, Kimiko was practicing her fighting moves with some unknown Outworld trainer. It was at that moment Foghorn Leghorn walked into the field. He stopped, standing alongside a gray-clad ninja and Francis, as the ninja Rooster watched the blue-clad princess practice, with Aku, Freakshow, Walter Wolf, and Randall Boggs watching as well.

As for Kimiko, she knocked her opponent to the ground, took out one of her fans, and extended its blades.

The Outworld trainer looked up, ashamed of himself. "I have failed. I deserve death."

The princess paused. I have failed my father. You must kill me. As her words from earlier played back in her mind, Kimiko looked uncertain—reluctant even.

"Kill him!" ordered Aku.

Kimiko just looked at the emperor, the latter grunted as if to say "ah, forget it." With his hand, Aku then absorbed the writhing trainer's soul as he screamed in agony. All the princess could do was stare in horror and disbelief.

"Kimiko!" exclaimed Aku. "You will join me."

As Kimiko obeyed her "father's" order and a Tarkatan dragged her trainer's lifeless body away, Foghorn stepped up to the evil emperor. "Aku! I challenge—I say, I challenge Barnyard Dawg, the murderer of my brother—Steelbeak, that is." The ninja Rooster then pointed at the emperor angrily. "You will bring him before me!"

"No one makes demands of the emperor!" snapped Walter before turning his head toward his Zaterran associate. "Randall!"

Snarling, Randall Boggs walked up to Foghorn, both Kombatants ready to fight after a reptilian-sounding bark came from Randall.

After a while of blocking Randall's fists and acid spit, Foghorn performed his Ice Blast move and defeated the Zaterran by striking him in the gut with an ice ball, followed by a head-butt.

"I would kill you," Foghorn glared down at his incapacitated opponent, "but that is not my purpose here—purpose, that is." After Randall picked himself back up, Foghorn went right back to Aku. "Your followers hold—I say, hold you in high esteem, warlord. They fight and die for your amusement—pleasure, that is. My brother participated in your folly, I only do so to face his killer!"

Aku looked taken aback by the ninja Rooster's audacity. However, a sly smirk spread on his face as he leaned forward in his throne. "And you shall."

Smirking, Freakshow summoned his wraith.

Barnyard Dawg appeared out of the flames, appalled by what he stared at. "What's goin' on here?" The fallen Shirai Ryu ninja pointed at his opponent. "Yer not Steelbeak!"

"I am his family and clan—" glared Foghorn—"brother, that is. I fight for his honor."

"He had no honor!" roared Barnyard Dawg. "And you will die as he did!"

The first to lash out, Barnyard Dawg shot his chained kunai out (unaware that his weapon buried itself in the wall of the Coliseum's arena). Foghorn Leghorn, however, dodged in time before performing his Ice Blast move on the canine ninja wraith. Striking him with his fists and ice sword like he did earlier and sending him flying into the wall that the kunai got buried in, Foggy then picked up his still-fallen opponent by the tail and created an ice paddle in his hand before paddling his opponent on the back side several times before shattering.

With Foggy comically running away from him, Barnyard Dawg ran after him, roaring, "Come here!" Soon, however, the wraith reached the length of his chain and his feet slipped from under him.

Despite the mask covering his beak, Foghorn looked like he was smirking at his enemy.

"Get over here!" snapped Barnyard Dawg.

"AAAAAHHHHHHHHH, SHADDUP!" snapped Foghorn before knocking his opponent out with an ice mallet. As the weapon shattered and as he laid dazed and defeated on the ground with miniature figures of himself seemingly orbiting around his head, a welt grew out of Barnyard Dawg's noggin.

Despite the cartoonish humor, Foghorn became serious again as he pointed at his unconscious foe. "For my brother!"

Before the final icy blow could be struck, Foghorn Leghorn found himself surrounded by a handful of gray-colored Cyborgs.

"No, you—" started Foghorn before being shocked by the gray Cyborgs.

Hannibal Roy Bean and Raimundo Pedrosa then appeared as they approached the emperor.

"Who now interrupts the emperor's tournament?" glared Walter Wolf in annoyance.

It was at that moment that Samurai Jack, Ron Stoppable, and Danny Fenton appeared, but they were too late as they watched what was going down.

"Foghorn?! No!" exclaimed Danny, attempting to save his friend.

But Samurai Jack stopped the Lin Kuei Enera. "You cannot save him. Stay here or they will take you as well."

As he and Raimundo stood with their hands together and bowing before Aku, Hannibal responded, "We only request we may return him to our temple for judgment."

As the two Cyborgs slowly rose up to meet his gaze, Aku leaned forward in his throne, suspicion in his voice. "And what do I gain in granting this bold request?"

Raimundo put his right hand over his heart with a bow of his head. "The Lin Kuei's loyalty and service."

". . . Very well. He is yours."

In response, Hannibal and Raimundo bowed the same way as before.

Samurai Jack looked distraught. "The flow of time has been changed. I spared Danny Fenton the fate, only to watch Foghorn Leghorn fall."

"No!" exclaimed Foghorn as he was pinned by the lackey Cyborgs. "I will not be turned!"

Much like Raimundo, Foghorn's reluctant complaints were in vain as Hannibal, Raimundo, and the gray lackey Cyborgs teleported him and themselves elsewhere.
