Chapter 13
And another chapter of Legends is here. The high school horrors begin and so do the horrors of training. Enjoy
Normal POV
Monday had arrived and that means the eight teens heroes would begin high school together. It had only been a couple of weeks since they set of on the journey and now they were together and ready to train; so they thought.
The sun had risen and they teens were forced awake by May's mother. They made their way downstairs and to the dining room to where they would be eating breakfast. The girls, aside from Leaf, were all dressed and ready to go, the boys, like Leaf, were still half asleep.
Each had received an outfit from May's mother to wear, even May despite having a closet full of clothes. Dawn wore a burgundy pleated skirt, a white t-shirt with a large black heart printed on it, covered by a beige leather jacket and black high heels. With it she wore a pendent that matched the mark on her thigh, in both shape and colour. Like Dawn, the others had the same type of pendent to math their own marks.
May wore a white long sleeved shirt with the sleeves being red; with it she wore dark blue jean shorts and red high tops. Misty had on a light blue tank top and a white loose tank overtop, jean shorts and orange converse with blue laces. The others, well they were a mess, messed hair and wrinkled pajamas.
"Alright kids," Norman said as he entered the living room with a cup of coffee in his hand. "I know I have already explained this to you, but I'm going to say it again. The reason the Caroline and I want you to attend this high school is so that you for one, still get an education and two so that you could form a better bond between the team, since you are all so different."
"We know dad, don't worry. We'll stick together for as long as it takes." May responded before finishing her cereal.
"Ya no worries Mr. Maple, anyone messes with the team, they're going to be running from a tidal wave." Misty added.
"Oh that reminds me," Caroline said as she began picking up the empty bowls of cereal from the teens. "I want you to keep the powers to a minimum, I mean May had some...troubles, when she was just getting used to her fire and it caused a lot of problems with the other students through the years."
"Mooooom, they don't need to hear about it." May complained with a whine.
"Like I've told May before, I've been there before, many wind storms." Drew said as he put his face into his crossed arms.
"Well, I'll trust you on that, now you go get ready, you need to get walking in ten minutes." Caroline said shooing the teens from the table.
The boys and Leaf went upstairs to change as the other three grabbed their bags. Returning after a few minutes Leaf was wearing pale green jeans with black combat boots and a black spaghetti strapped tank top. On her head she had a black beanie.
Gary was wearing black jeans with light purple converse and a gray long sleeved shirt with the sleeves pushed up. Ash had on blue jeans with a red button up shirt; with it he had black and white high tops. Drew had a green and white plaid shirt under a black vest and gray jeans with dark green high tops on his feet. Paul was simple, black jean shorts with a silver chain on each side, a black leather jacket and black high tops with a skull printed on the side; he left the jacket open to show the gray shirt he wore beneath it.
"Okay, we're leaving now! Bye mom, bye dad, bye Max." May called as she was about to open the front door.
"Wait May, I want to get a picture of the eight of you, you know for memories." Her mom called speed walking with the camera towards the front door. The teens groaned but obeyed what the hostess wanted before heading off to school.
Once they arrived at the school, the teens picked up their schedules and went their separate ways agreeing to meet at lunch in the cafeteria. The periods went by slowly and finally the bell had struck for lunch period. Sticking to the agreement the Dragon Souls made their way to an empty table with their lunches and began to eat minding their own business.
"Well would you look at that," A voice called from behind May. "The flame brain came back to play, and look at that she even made some friends." that voice, the voice that only May knew.
Standing up from her seat, May turned to face the source of the retched sound. "Look Brendan, I don't give a shit that you don't like me, but you can leave these guys out of it."
"Ya right, let's see what we have here." Brendan said walking around the table, eyeing the ones he called May's friends. As he walked he labelled each, "Hm, an athlete, I mean what other girl would have short hair pulled back into a ponytail." He said as he passed Misty. "An idiot with no fashion sense," Ash. "Quiet but feisty," he leaned into Leaf ear whispering, "I like that," with a wink. She went red, Gary taking quick notice; standing up next to face Brendan. "Over protective player." "Hm, green and a vest...gay" leaving Drew with a confused look on his face. "Preppy and sweet," passing Dawn, leading to the last person. Paul. "And what are you supposed to be, a rebel that hates everything because of what, a pet dying?" and there was that big mistake. Brenden made his way back to May, "Some friends you got." He faced back to the group, "You might want to watch out, she might set you on fire, being the flame brain she is." He faced May again but was quickly lifted by the collar of his shirt.
"I'm not some rebel. I don't hate everything, but I can tell you, I just met you and I hate you," spitting the word hate into his face. Brendan looked at the purpled haired teen with no fear. "You see I'm your worst nightmare, I can come at you and you won't see it coming." He dropped Brendan, caused him to fall down. "You see this mark on my leg. It's no tattoo. It's a symbol of me being one with the darkness, I just vanish. You say another word about me and so will you." With that Paul sat back at his table like nothing had happened and continued to eat his lunch.
"Ya I take that back, they're probably all crazy. They suit you well." Brenden stood up dusting off his pants before walking away and falling flat on his face. "How the fuck does ice get in the middle of the building?!" he yelled before walking away once again, though this time face to the ground.
"And that is how you ruin an exit with Gary Oak." The table burst into laughter, even Paul had a smirk on his face at the comment. Soon lunch ended and the teens returned to class, waiting for the day to finish.
Once class was over the Dragon Souls had agreed they would go to Norman's gym and train with Norman. The group began to walk complaining about how school was a pain and such when a group of three blocked the way.
"Look Brendan, I thought we dealt with you earlier. I don't need to see any more of that." May said pointing to his face.
"I'm just going to point out, the two scrawny bodyguards you have there, aren't going to do a whole lot." Dawn stated poking her head out from behind Leaf.
"You know what. Grab her and the gay one." Brendan ordered.
"Hey! I am not gay! I'm just fashionable!" Drew stated, distracted the blond teen that had been with Brendan grabbed him, as the blacked haired one grabbed Dawn, pushing Leaf to the ground.
"Seriously, sorry May, I'm breaking my word to your mom." Leaf said as she stood up. Vines grew from the ground grabbing the wrists of the three boys letting both Drew and Dawn go.
"A nature freak too! What the hell, flame brain here is enough!"
"hey you, how long did it take you to do your hair this morning?" Drew asked Brendan.
"Like an hour, dude, this is perfection. Now let me go!"
"Hm be a shame if some wind ruined it." drew smirked before raising his hand, causing Brenden's hat to fly off his head and ruin the gelled hair, followed by Ash socking him, causing the hair to stand on end and then Misty dumping water on his head.
"You know, I think that this is some of the best work we've done." Misty said as she high-fived both Ash and Drew.
"This is the first thing we've done really, other than the Houndoom." Drew said, causing Misty to shrug her shoulders.
"There, I got rid of the vines Brendan. They are now burned to a crisp, the other ones too." May said smirking at Brendan.
"Then why can't I move my feet?"
"oh that, ya I covered them in ice. Hey, where's Paul." Gary said going from a smirk to confused face. Dawn looked down at her shadow putting her hand over it and shining a ball of light, causing Paul to pop back up.
"Really, I just wanted to give them nightmares." The group gave him disapproving glares before waving and laughing at the group continuing on their way. They could hear the calls from the teen boys and Gary decided to call off the ice spell he had casted on them.

"You saw all that right?" the brunette asked looking to her boyfriend. Her ponytail flipped around as she quickly turned her head.
"Yes Hilda, I saw it. I think that's what we're looking for." A boy with the same colour hair responded the girl giving him a pout on her face.
"I'm not stupid; we're looking for eight teens with powers. If that isn't them I don't know who is." She retorted. "Come on Hilbert, we need to follow them, and then report back to the leaders." The girl stood from being crouched behind the bushes and began to jog to keep sight on the group of teens they had spotted.
"Could we at least stop for some food along the way, I'm getting hungry and we haven't eaten since this morning." Hilbert complained, following the girl, though at a walking pace.
There it is, another chapter down, and I am proud of it. I have been looking forward to writing the cafeteria scene for ages. Well since I came up with idea when I was planning how to continue story. Any way's note to Amy there you go. They are officially in the story. There is more to it though.
