Legends Chapter 16

Alright guys so I know it's been a while I've been trying to think of how I'm going to put this together, yet I still can't come up with anything so I'm sorry ahead of time if this chapter isn't all that great.

Normal POV

The group of teens sat in the cafeteria at lunch, the current conversation about their training later on that day. It had been a couple weeks since first arriving at the Maple household and the group was settling well; get up and have breakfast then head off to school, head to the gym to work of martial arts finally head home and eat supper and do their homework. Weekends were another story though, sleep in and when they awake train their powers in the backyard of the Maple house.

Currently it was a Friday, lunch was going as usual. Ever since their after school surprise meet with Brenden, they had been left alone by him. Girls would casually make their way passed the table and try to get the boys to notice them, only Gary would actually pay attention. Then when boys from the school would walk passed, then the guys would take notice.

Overall the group was beginning to get closer and that was helping their overall performance as a group. They would chat more all together now that that awkward 'getting to know each other' faze was over.

"Hey, do you think we should try out those combo attacks that Dawn was talking about before? I know it's a crazy thought but think of how powerful that could be." Gary said before talking another bite of his burger.

"I think that it could work, we'd be able to do like water and electric attacks, then dark and light" Leaf stated, before picking up her water bottle to wash down the now finished meal.

"Well what about you, you and Gary could do like a frozen earth thing." added in Dawn.

"So that leaves fire and air." Drew said bluntly, clearly deep in thought.

"We could do an intense fire that is supported by the air? I don't really know, we'll figure something out I guess..." May said before going back to her meal.

Paul watched as the group went on about all the combination tactics that they could do. He waited for the bell to ring so that school would only have two more classes. Once the bell went he picked up him bag and gave a two finger wave to his 'friends' before heading off to his class.

Sitting in the back, he was in peace. The light at the back of his fourth period class was burnt out and he had absolutely no problems with it. The darkness was his peace, his way of being relaxed, like how some people like the bright warm sun on a tropical island. Paul's was a dark basement; absolutely no light what so ever.

The one problem with the back of the classroom was the girl that sat in front of him. Big pigtails on the side of her head, in a weird peach colour; not like he was one to talk about hair colour though. She would constantly try to flaunt herself to him, and no matter how he said no, she would continue.

"Hey Pauly" She said turning around to the Death Soul. "I know its late notice, but I want you and your three guy friends to come to my party tonight."

"No."

"But this is a party by me, Ursula; my parties are always the best. Plus my parents are out of town and my older brother is going to get us some beer, it's going to be the party of the year." She continued to try to convince him but to no avail. He wouldn't respond, only ignoring her and doing the problems that they were assigned.

"Pauly, you know you want to come." She said sweetly covering his hands with hers. He didn't pull away, only looked up towards her with his eyes closed. Once he reopened them, they were pitch black, no white, no pupil. Just black. She jumped back a little seeing this as no one in the school knew of their powers only Brenden and his two goons.

He knew he wasn't supposed to. He knew that he would be bitched at and probably have to deal with Misty and her wrath, but he had no choice. Soon enough he would blow up and the whole class would know.

Darkness surrounded the two. "Paul what is going on...everyone will freak out once they see this."

"No one can see it. Currently we are both doing our work. A nice shadow illusion isn't it." He tilted his head to the left, a large grin plastered on his face.

"Paul...what...what's going on?" Ursula said scared.

"Do you really want to keep trying to seduce me? This is what I am, I am the darkness. I am death." He raised both his hands to the sides as if summoning something from the ground. Behind him a large black scaled dragon with beat red eyes appeared. Its large black wings stretched out, the giant white teeth that could bite through almost everything. "I am the black dragon. And I am the devil himself. I can control the underworld and I can be a shadow."

"P-Paul...please stop..."

"This is what I am. This is what I do. And you will keep your annoying mouth shut about this."

"o-okay, I will...just please let me back to the classroom." In an instant they were back. Ursula spoke not own word to him the rest of class, leaving him in peace. But the little interrogation took longer than expected and the class was over in a few minutes.

Once the bell rang, he began to pack his stuff away as the rest of the class left the room.

"Hey, you ready to go?" a small bluenette stood in front of his desk, book in her arms. Giving a small 'hn' he put that last binder in his bag and stood from his desk pushing in the chair before walking off with Dawn.

As they walked to their shared class, the final period of the day Dawn stopped walking causing Paul to stop just a bit further ahead. "Why are you stopping Troublesome?"

"I sensed something...I think it was Drew or Gary just excited or something I guess." She said shaking her head to rid of the sense. "Stupid powers, this happens to often. I mean I thought I sensed something with you last period."

Paul looked a bit taken back, could she sense me using my powers, she just thinks that they're just nothing so just roll with it.

The walk to class ended soon enough and school was right behind it. The light and dark souls met with the rest outside the front of the school. "We're not going Gary." Misty stated, her arms crossed across her chest.

"Why not, it's going to be sick. Plus I was told that the four of us guys can go and we'll bring you because we wouldn't go without you." Gary pleaded.

"What are you guys talking about?" Dawn asked joining the conversation that was going on.

"Ursula's throwing a sick party tonight, it's going to be great and we were invited." Ash explained saving Gary from saying it again. "Didn't Paul tell you, he was invited to?"

"I uninvited myself." Paul responded emotionlessly.

"Wait did this happen just before last period because I sensed something from you guys?" Dawn asked them, they nodded in response. "So that means my other sense was righ-...Paul. What did you do?"

"What do you mean Dawn?"

"All I did was convince that brat to stop trying to fuck me." Not lying but not the whole truth. That is the simplest way to answer in Paul's mind.

"Ya I get that but I want the whole thing, how did you do that?" Quiet. "Paul this is serious." Dawn pouted in front of the boy a foot taller than herself.

"You used your powers, didn't you?" May said shyly. Stepping forwards from the group. There was still no response from the boy. "YOU IDIOT!" Her fist engulfed in flames bunch the boy in the face, then there was nothing in the place where the boy stood.

"I'm going to kill him." Dawn spat.

"Where did he go, he's in one of the shadows right? Dawn just use light," Drew said confused as to the Light Soul's growing fiery.

"No, he's long gone. He learned how to make a shadow figure; he put one in his place and then left with shadows. I swear, I'm going to murder him." Dawn began to stomp off to the Maple household.

"AAAHHHHHHH!" all heads turned to the forest that was located a few minutes away from the school and without a word they all began to run towards the loud shriek.

there he sat, leaning against a large pine tree, petting his Houndoom. It was peaceful there, the group couldn't yell at him. I'll just stay here until later and then head back to the house. He wouldn't be seen or yelled at that way.

"AAAAHHHHHH!" his head whipped upwards to the shriek.

"Don't be so loud." He said standing up to face the peach haired girl that stood in terror of the creature from the underworld.

"That's a-a Houndoom...I-I thought t-that they were a myth." Her face screamed that she was terrified. She started to back away slowly but backed into a warm figure.

"You okay Ursula?" that voice was one she remembered well. May. The flame brain as Brenden put it, although she never really understood why. She was new to the school and had never met May until she had returned with the large group of teens.

"I thi-think I'm okay...but that," she pointed her finger towards Paul petting the Houndoom's head.

"Paul, I am going to kill you!" first you do something with your powers and now you terrify her with that damn pet of yours!" Dawn angrily paced her way over to Paul, a ball of light forming in her hand.

"Just because I used them means nothing. Not like I killed anyone, not a big deal." Paul said not looking towards the blue-haired girl.

"Ya but we still have to get used to things, and Mrs. And Mr. Maple said that they didn't want us to be using them." Leaf added into the bickering.

Paul let out a large sigh, opening up a black portal beneath Houndoom causing him to disappear like the first time the group met him. "I'm confused at what is going on right now..." Ursula said to the group.

"We are all part of the Dragon's Legend and each of us have powers that we will be using to fight evil with." Dawn said without hesitation.

"Really, and you're giving me shit for using my powers. Seriously?" Paul spat towards the bluenette, grabbing her shoulder trying to make her face him.

She pulled her shoulder forwards, causing him to let go. "So, you all...you are all...like him..." Ursula managed to say before collapsing on the ground.

"Good, now that that has happened." Dawn said walking over to Ursula's limp body. Dawn knelt down, placing Ursula's head on her lap and her hand on Ursula's forehead. A white hue began to cover Dawn's hand. "I was talking to Hilda last week during about powers and if she is right about this, then Ursula will remember nothing about our powers. Something along the line of memory magic type of thing." Before long, Dawn removed her hand but stayed on the ground with Ursula.

"So, now what?" Ash asked in a bored tone.

"Now we wait," the bluenette replied to her raven haired friend.

The peach haired teenager began to groan, causing the attention to turn back to her and away from the discussion with Hilda and Hilbert, who in turn ran off and teleported back to the dragon's world.

"Ugh...what happened?" She mumbled to herself unaware of the group of teens in front of her.

"You tripped and hit your head on a tree." Gary said, coming up with an obvious lie.

"I never trip on branches...I take this route home every day." She scoffed back to him, clearly offended at something he had said.

"Well there is a first for everything." Leaf tried to back up Gary's cover up story.

"If you didn't where those stupid high heels you wouldn't have fallen." Paul added in, not a care to the conversation. He sat himself on a large rock and was tossing pebbles at trees.

"These heels are a one of a kind. I was lucky to get these, and that means I should wear them. Hmph." she stood up looking at the dress she had worn that day which was now covered in dirt. "None of you bothered to at least move me off of this disgusting dirt?! Look at my dress it is completely ruined!"

"wash it and it will be clean." Paul said again.

"UGGGHHHHH!" she screamed angrily, pushing her way through the Dragon Souls and out of the forest.

"I think we solved that problem well. I mean she doesn't seem to remember anything at all so." Misty said patting dawn on the back. She made her way over to Paul, punching his arm roughly, causing him to look at her and shake his arms a bit to get feeling properly. "I swear to god, if you do that again, I won't hesitate to hurt you."

"Whatever, let's just go train. I'm not going to that stupid party." Paul said standing up and walking away from the group.

"What's with him?" Ash asked, the rest of the group shrugged before catching up to the purple haired boy and beginning to chat once again.

I know, it sucks. I was mostly trying to show you some little power moves thingys that they can do now because of training and stuff, next chapter should focus more on May and Drew, maybe just May...not sure yet. And I know I'm posting this in May but there will be another chapter posted later on this month.

In other news. I am kinda nervous I have a job interview tomorrow and I really want this because I need money. I have like nothing right now. But I also need to save up to get myself a car and uuughhhhhh...so many issues. But for now I can continue to write chapters for you to enjoy even though I will still do that even if I get a job so...don't mind me.

If you have any suggestions or questions, leave a review or message me.

That's all for now. –Quilavamaster-
