Legends 26

So I am already updating and it hasn't even been two weeks. In going to try and update ever other Friday starting not this Friday but the next so that I have clear times to update that I know I can manage. Im still looking for any Original Characters if you have them.

Enough of me though. Ill let you read the chapter.

"Night had come and gone, the moon was replace by the dancing sunlight, shining though on the horizon. Birds sang their enchanting song, as the morning see settled upon each blade of grass. It was peaceful, relaxing, and stress relieving, or rather it would be had there not been a war going on. The days went on in nature as they always had but inside the city walls was hell on earth.

Cries for help, screaming children and parents looking for one another through the rubble that had been made from the once perfect neighborhood houses. The sirens of emergency vehicles echoed through the air. A state of emergency was announced after a military base had been attack by unknown creatures. Panic issued not long after that. All citizens were to report to the nearest emergency shelters that were being put up. But many were injured or killed before they could leave the city."

Closing the notebook of yet another entry as everyone sat around the tables waiting for their meal to be ready. Pushing his glasses up causing the light to glean off of it as he readjusted the frames. There were five more people that had made it in this morning. His father along with any other adult makes were sent to defend the area, guns in hands without any proper training.

The food portions weren't enough to really keep them going but as long as they had something who was he to complain. The sleeping arraignments weren't all that great either; he was on the ground with his father while they had given his mother the single person cot that was given to them upon arrival. Water wasn't plentiful but you would get a good amount as you really needed it, though the food and water portions he would spilt with the pregnant woman next to the family cot. It would be her first child and he wanted to make sure that she and the baby would have enough nutrients to be healthy.

With all this going on, his starving body, desperate for a long it shower. All he could think about was his sister. The one fighting for all of the lives in the country along with seven others. How was she doing, was she hurt, hungry, thirsty? Was she getting enough sleep out beyond the walls of this camp? Was she even still alive and breathing?

They had been in the camps for 3 weeks, the last he had heard of anything was about a week ago. Overhearing some of the camp leaders talking about some cities that were cleared and put back together only about an hour drive from their current location. Hope was in his head, the determination that May had was strong. She had told him she would be alright and he believed her. She would be just fine.

"May! Run!" the male voice called to her, running in her direction, away from the swarm of spiderlings chasing him.

She was frozen in spot, poison flowing through her veins from the bite she had received earlier that morning. She was feint but couldn't call for help. "May go!" Ash called as he summoned a lighting strike on his current location. Finally she moved he foot but only to begin toppling to the grass beneath her, seeing. The motion he ran at full speed to catch her before she hit the ground. Scooping up the limp body, he threw her of his bare shoulder, quickly to begin running again. A burning in his right foot caused him to stumble. Looking he noticed the large swell beginning to form from the hit, he couldn't outrun the hoard like this, he could barely stand on the foot it was in so much pain.

"I'll cover! Get Ash up and running!" Paul's voice was front but it was there. And before long he could hear Dawn's as well agreeing to his plan, then the cool feeling of his foot. She was healing him.

"We need to get May to a safer location so I can fix her! What happened?" Dawn's small body helped him stand and get May back into his shoulder. The white cloth she wore was stained a deep crimson showing that she had been hurt many times herself.

The two began to run into the brush beside their location. "She was bit by one of those fuckers earlier then she just passed out." Slowing their speed Dawn pushed the tall grass out of the way to walk into the cover so she could begin to work on May's injuries.

"I'll put up a shield for myself and May but I need you to go help Paul. He hasn't stopped and he won't let me heal his wounds even though some of them are in desperate need of it." He noticed the worry in her eyes. The pair had grown very close in that past few months so it only made sense. He nodded to her and ran out to the clearing yet again.

Paul was no longer there, but the God dammed enemy was hurled into a ball. He was done for. The fact that one of the strongest people he was fighting along side was gone was discouraging to say the least. How were the rest of them going to take this? How was it that Paul could think he was able to fight off all the small creatures with the damage he had sustained? Why would he do it?

Pulling out his kunai, Ash began to toss them as he ran around the swarm. Once six of them were in the ground surrounding the group he let the tension release. The current connecting between the kunai raised up and created a cage of static. With a snap of his fingers the static dispersed into the cage and with a flash all the spiderlings turned to ash.

Upon the settling dust, chocolate eyes found the boy he thought was gone beginning to stand from a cross legged position. He black clothing was torn and stained with blood though Ash couldn't find a single scratch on his body. "Dawn wants to heal you. Let's go." Paul starred at him in a disapproving look. "She's worried that you'll pass out like May, go and let her heal you."

"She can't." Violet hair was pushed out of the way of his face as he turned and began to walk off. The sudden jolt from his forearm caused him to look back to the other teen. "stop shocking me. She can't heal me. Leave it be."

A disapproving look tested on the usually cheery face. "It doesn't use up too much of her strength to heal up a few cuts! If you let her do it then she won't worry."

"She literally can't heal me. She knows that."

"Then why did she tell me to come help you And that she wanted to heal them?" Ash asked. Why would she ask him to let her heal them if she already knew that she couldn't? Why couldn't she anyways? She could heal everybody else.

Broken from his thoughts by a large sigh, Ash looked back to Paul to find him walking back to his location. He began to undo the tattered cloth that cover his chest. Before Ash could get a word out Paul began to speak. "this scar," a light patch of skin in a rounded shape was located on his left abdomen. The was also a large scar in a line about a centimeter in width that travel right through the circular shape and carried on to his side, almost reaching his back. "back when we were training with the dragons. Senka's talon a caught my side and Dawn was the one to clean it." Beginning to put his shirt back on, Paul continued. "I had passed out but she decided to heal it, knowing I would want to start training once I woke up. But I woke up in pain from the burning.

Her power is light and life while mine is darkness and death. Complete opposites of one another so she harmed me more. We learned through Senka and Luna that I can't be healed by light but rather dark. The ashes that the little fucks we keep killing are me source of healing though I can't kill them myself as stupid as it is. Someone else has to kill them, like you did with the spiderlings, hence why I am completely untouched now."

It took a moment for Ash to take all this in. Their healer couldn't heal a teammate because their powers affect them all that much. It was hard to believe that the little things like that could be overlooked by the rest of the team. Remembering that when May began to get tired Drew would blow the wind in her direction; the fire feeds of the air. When Gary froze the earth, Leaf would shiver slightly; she was one with the earth. If he touched Misty suddenly she would quietly say that it hurt or mumble an "ow"; water conducts electricity. Little things that would affect their live so greatly, he had overlooked them all.

They were actually the souls of the power they possessed.

"With that look I take it your small brain can comprehend it." Paul spoke roughly, a small sense of humour in his voice. He had started to walk to the brush beside where they had been standing, "lets get to May and Dawn, we need to get May over to Drew and he's a couple towns over last we checked in.

Paul had transferred May through the underworld. Since it was a pit of hell he wouldn't let anyone come with them as they couldn't stand the heat, it was even too high of a temperature for him and he technically was from it. Since May's body was made with magma she would be able to withstand the overly extensive temperatures for five minutes.

Having to help her with her walking still Paul had managed to find Drew in the sky. Calling him down with a black slash into the air, it wasn't long before Drew arrived, creating a small whirlwind for May to take in the oxygen. "What the hell happened?" he asked Paul after pulling him away to let May sit and rest for a few more minutes.

"Poison, Dawn managed to get in out of her system but she's still very weak. You have to stay with her for a while." Replying Paul pulled down Drew's hood when he turned back to look at May with a pinch between his index finger and thumb. Drew turned back with an unimpressed look on his face. "I'm the only one allowed to hide my face." Drew chuckled at the other boys odd sense of humour.

"Look I'm just guarding the camp nearby, the people have been stressed out so May told me to keep an eye out for them." Drew explained. "She can stay in the camp for a bit, but have Dawn contact me in a few hours. May needs to be fighting, not watching a camp."

"Guys?" weakness in the girl's voice was present. Once both Drew and Paul's attention was focused on her she continued as she forced herself to stand. "I can still fight. Paul take me back."

"Are you insane? No."

May's cheeks puffed out in stubbornness, "I'm not insane, I can fight. I have to."

Drew's gaze softened with the determination she had. He knew she wanted to be protecting everyone, that she needed to help. "May, you don't have the energy to do this right now. I'll replenish your strength for a couple hours then you can head back."

"I can't wait that long!"

"We you have to May! I'm not taking you back until you are able to battle properly." Paul reminding her that he is the one that brought her to heal.

"Then you know what? Drew kiss me!"

Silence stopped the argument as the boys processed what was just said. Slowly Drew's face turned into a red to match the flames May produced. "Huh?"

"If the air feeds the fire then kiss me and give me more oxygen!" May screamed her own face growing shades of red. But before anyone could reply, May took another stumble. Being caught by Paul within an instant.

"You are staying here and that is final."
