Legends 29
Her eyes had grown fierce once again. Too many things began to cloud her thoughts, though trying to put all of them to the back of her head was impossible. She would need to use them to her advantage. The thoughts of bloodshed on her side, she wouldn't let her comrades blood be spilled. Not after what Drew just went though. Max was still in the hands of a psychopath though; he was still in danger.
With the fresh wound being sealed, Drew had become weak. He had lost too much blood and was forced to sit on the sidelines, May's orders. Though he watched her carefully, ready to join her at any moment in case of need. They had been told not to take on these 'gods of the dark army', as they called themselves, only by his or herself. They needed someone with them, to have their backs, to see what they wouldn't be able to see. They needed help or they would end up dead.
May's body had began to be engulfed into her flames yet again. Though it was her whole body this time, not just her arms. "So the fire shall live on," his head flashed over to the girl that stood opposite of the blazing brunette. "I am Eclipse, the third god of the dark army. My winning is certain." Her voice seemed so sweet yet hearing it sent shivers down his spine. She had yet to show them any of what her powers were.
She stepped to the side suddenly, tossing Max into the nearby fence. What Drew took as a sign she didn't want him to be leaving the battlegrounds quite yet. A fireball shot to where Eclipse once stood.
The process repeated, May was making no ground. She was wasting her energy, and she hadn't landed a single one of her attacks yet. "Stop fucking moving!" May screamed as she ran at Eclipse, her flames leaving behind scorched grass. Her fist went to Eclipse's face though the hooded girl was able to move out of the way yet again.
"You won't hit me, I know every on of your attacks before you even perform it. The impossible will not happen." Icy blue eyes peered out from beneath the darkness of her hood; it was as though they were glowing within the daylight. May launched another burst of flame at Eclipse. Right before the flames hit, the vanished at if they had been extinguished. "Burn." Eclipse's right hand quickly shot out and swung to the side sending a slash of fire in May's direction.
Letting out a laugh at the incoming attack May spoke, "Flames don't work on me imbecile." Awaiting the chance to engulf the flame into her stomach, she planted her feet in her fight stance yet again.
The flames hit, and screaming ensued. The feeling of burning was a new one, one May had never been able to feel it before. She had always considered the fire to be her friend, it was the only thing that hadn't hurt her…..but now. Her friend was burning all the memories they had with one another after a silly argument. Her screams of pain could be heard from what seemed like miles away. The pure agony of her burning flesh and Drew sat there unable to help. He could see the red fluid coming from her eyes, she was crying and he couldn't comfort her due to the amount of fire around her body.
This was the danger that they faced, their own element had began to betray them in this war.
How Eclipse had managed to do this was unknown but Drew knew he had to fight with May. She wouldn't be able to fight with the fact that Eclipse would kill her before another attack was launched. Eclipse's full attention was on May, grinning devilishly at the pain she had caused. She wouldn't notice if he took the battle to the sky. Standing shakily, he balanced him self on the fence before spreading his armored wings. Pushing of the Earth he let himself glide through the air and decide on a striking method.
Surprise.
That is how he would attack. Eclipse wouldn't be able to dodge an attack if she couldn't see it coming. He positioned himself so that he had his chained sickles, one in each hand, with blades extending outwards. With a deep breath he began to plummet towards the Earth as though he was falling like a meteor.
Once close enough, Drew threw the sickle from his right hand towards Eclipse's body, grabbing the extending chain to help support his left hand once the sickle landed it's mark. Just as planned the weapon at hand wrapped itself around Eclipse's torso and thighs, hooking the end of the blade into one of the links. Drew came to a stop and pulled the chain back allowing for the dark haired girl to fall forwards.
May had managed to get the flames off of her own by taking away her cloud of fire. Her arms were splotched with red from the damage the flames had done. She watched as Eclipse fell, catching herself with her forearms. Looking to where the chain had come from she found Drew, wings spread with the sun shining behind him. Even if it was just a silhouette due to the bright light from behind, she could see him and his stupid hair flip as a sign as "I know I'm awesome". Pulling a smirk to her lips she summoned her arrow once again quickly pulling the arrow from quiver and igniting it like a match stick.
The arrow launched from the magnificent bow, striking the target in the shoulder. A yelp of pain was heard before a growl. With her free hands she pulled the arrow from her shoulder, allowing the wound to pour crimson.
Gripping the arrow that still burned, Eclipse propped herself onto her left forearm. She flipped herself onto her back, facing the figure in the sky. Throwing the arrow that had once punctured her through the sky. The flames grew larger as the single arrow approached Drew. May's attack seemed like nothing to the one that Eclipse had just thrown. The flames growing larger with each passing moment.
"Drew! Down!" The command from the voice of the leader of the group shouted. Following command he flew downward quickly. The blazing arrow that once was coming at him, dropped as if it had lost all will to continue on. Looking at May down on the ground, she was poised bow in hand. She had just knocked down one arrow with another, her face relieved that she had managed to.
Taking advantage of the distracted chain holder, Eclipse pulled the chain that bound her body, causing Drew to jerk towards her more. With the extra bit of chain that she now had she was able to slip from the grasp. With the notice of her escape, Drew recalled the chain scythes, once both were in hand they glowed a golden colour as they changed to a pair of daggers.
May had managed to run up to Eclipse, body engulfed in her own flames yet again. Striking to hooded female with a fist in the back of her head. Another to the top of the hood caused Eclipse to drop on her back. Her hood had fallen off and hair framed her porcelain face. She was beautiful though that gave May no reason to stop the attack. Pulling her fist back once more she stumbled backwards at the impact of a foot to her face. Flames once again burning her skin. Eclipse was using fire against her again.
Pain wouldn't stop her this time though. She would bare with it and fight. She had to. Watching Eclipse stand as May regained her composer. Drew lifted his hand as a small wind gusted its way at May. Her flames grew much larger completely surrounding her body. From her back the flames separated, expanding off of her body. He watched as she fought Eclipse again ending up catching herself on the dirt coming to a skidding stop. Her back exposed, she looked like a monster, attacking its prey. The flames that had taken over her body had formed wings on her back as though she was a dragon.
Steading his daggers, Drew plunged into battle alongside May. He couldn't be support any more, even with his injury. He sent out a tornado, which May then added het flames to. Eclipse had still yet to get up from a previous upper cut May had landed. The flaming tornado had managed to hit Eclipse just as she stood back up.
Her screams of pain sent chills down their spines. They were torturing this girl now and couldn't stop or else it would be them. "Your thoughts are gone!" she screeched, stumbling to stand once again. "They've disappeared! What have you done to them!" staring at the girl before them in confusion. Had she just snapped?
Eclipses black leggings were now torn and holes covered them. The baggy hoodie she wore was charred and tarnished. She was a mess and here she was screaming at them about their thoughts. "You've killed them. Now you must pay their lives with yours." Launching both her arms back and then rushing them across the front of her body a large slash of air was rushed at May and Drew.
The duo had jumped out of the way to dodge but it still clipped their sides slightly. The fresh wound dripped but it was ignored by the couple as they focused themselves on battle. Eclipse's fighting style had changed completely. She was calm and fearless before but now with the claim of their missing thoughts she had gone wild. Her attacks made no sense but they couldn't get close enough to counter attack.
"Drew! Take us up!" May called soon being grabbed by the emerald haired man to float in the air. "Now drop me down and do your roar!"
"I'm not gong to drop you! The fall will kill you!"
"Just fucking drop me!" her sapphire eyes glossed with red. "please trust me." Her voice cracked. Without a second thought Drew let his grip go on the girl allowing her to begin he plummet to the ground below.
Following May's orders Drew launched his roar in the direction of the enemy. Watching as it began to cause her to stumble though it disappeared not long after, even though he hadn't stopped it. A trail of flames was below him. May had made herself into what could only be described as a comet as she flew towards Eclipse before striking a blow to the girl's stomach with out any flames on her hand or arm.
Drew dropped down to where May now stood above the collapsed girl. "She can take our attacks, using them against us with more power than we can muster into them. So a regular punch that just has a lot of force cant exactly be taken since its not really element related."
"Then why use my roar? If you figured all that out, what was the point of it?" Dree asked as they walked away from the girl's body to rest on the grass.
"if she saw me all flaming towards her she might have taken my fire and then I would've fallen."
"so in other words I was a distraction, and if I failed my part you were dead."
"Pretty much. I need to just sleep for a year I'm exhausted. Also how's your side….it got hit by that air slash she tossed at us when she first started going insane?" The question caused both teens to loom at his bare torso at the wound that was bleeding a fair amount compared to May's which had stopped due to the heat of her body.
"Shit. I forget about it. I'm going to need to call Dawn over before we re group later. You arnt burning me again roght now though. That shit hurt worse than the actual fucking gouge."
Dropping her head, May began to apologize profusely. Although with some attempt from Drew saying it was that or he would be practically dead from blood loss. Deciding to get Dawn to heal him sooner rather than relaxing for a little he walked off to get her attention.
"Why hello there my good sir, Dawn's health care here to help." Apparently Dawn had been quite bored over that past hour or so since they lost connection with her. It was good to know that she was fine but he wasn't quite in the mood for the happy go lucky personality at the moment.
"Hey Dawn, May and I were able to take down the third leader. It took a hell of a lot of effort but I could seriously use some medical attention." Lifting his hand off of the fresh cut, he frowned at the sight that in was still bleeding even with the pressure being kept on it for so long. "The sooner the better, May cauterized it earlier then it got sliced again and I think I need you now."
"Fuck, I'll get there as soon as I can. I'm with Paul and Ash so they'll be with me. You guys are still at the camp right?" her voice changed tones to a more worried one. Telling her their exact location and saying the goodbyes.
Heading back over to where he and May once stood, he noticed that she had disappeared. Quickly looking around he noticed that she now sat over with Max. His head on her kneeling lap as he wasn't conscious due to the earlier toss. Joining her he sat down still holding his side though lifting his other hand before dropping it back down to his side. May smiled at the gesture as she realized that he did the same barrier he had done for her earlier though this time on Max. Lifting his hand to her head, he patted the top softly before putting another barrier up for her as well.
"Rest up a bit would you? I'll stay up and wait for the others. I don't think I would be good to sleep right now." For the first time, May listened to reason and without a fight rested her head on his shoulder letting her eyes shut.
Alright. There another chapter done.
Eclipse belongs to AdorableSkitty639. I honestly love this OC and all I could do with her. I just hope that I was able to portray her well enough for you taste hun.
I did my best with the whole fighting thing but honestly I can't judge myself because I feel its terrible but at the same time good.
