"Drink of despair, drink of despair, drink of desperation? No that's not right. Agh, drink of despair where are you?" Cas groaned, smacking her face off of Moody's bookcase.

She had been pouring over all of Moody's books all morning, and yet there was no trace of a drink of despair. Feeling hopeless Cas slumped to the ground, kicking a stray book with her foot.

"This fucking drink doesn't exist!" Cas moaned, blowing a strand of hair from her face.

"What kind of drink you looking for? I brought tequila and fire whiskey, lady's choice." Remus drawled, leaning against one of the bookcases.

"Oy! Where the bloody hell did you come from?" Cas shouted, jumping up to her feet.

"Just got here, aren't you a tad jumpy today." Remus commented, picking up the book Cas had just kicked away.

"Dark objects and elixirs." Remus read, cocking an eyebrow at Cas.

"Just some light reading is all." Cas lied, snatching the book back and putting it back quickly, her eyes glancing at the other texts surrounding her.

"Bit dark for light reading, don't you think Morris?" Remus asked, chuckling under his breath slightly.

"Oy! You don't come into my house throwing judgment Lupin. What are you doing here, Moody is at Molly's, something about constant vigilance and how he hates the Marauders." Cas joked, trying to change the topic off the book at hand.

"You take that back! Moody only hates Sirius, everyone knows that!" Remus scoffed, sitting on the empty desk across from her.

"We- wait what? Moody doesn't hate Sirius?" Cas asked, confusion evident on her face.

"Well sure looked that way the other day. Ripped Sirius a new one." Remus argued, laughing slightly at Cas' confusion.

"Ripped him a what? Why? Why is this the first I'm hearing of it?" Cas wondered, looking over the titles in the bookcase.

"Well, I thought it was obvious Cas. He is making a move on Moody's god daughter, Moody just figured since your dad isn't around to threaten your boyfriends he would." Remus stated.

"Oy! First Sirius is not my boyfriend, and second Moody shouldn't be doing that! My dad would never do that in the first place, at least I don't think he would." Cas stated, blushing slightly at the word boyfriend.

"First up, yes he is, despite what the both of you deny. Secondly, yes Moody should be, Sirius needs a good scaring. He can be quite the dog." Remus laughed, more than Cas thought was necessary.

"Whatever you say Rem. Are you going to sit there looking pretty or are you actually going to help a lady out?" Cas asked, raising her eyebrow at him, sass laying on her features.

"Calm yourself woman, what book you looking for? Library Man to the rescue." Remus joked, jumping off the desk.

"Um, well heres the thing. You have to be willing to help me, without any real answers as to why I need this book." Cas stammered, her face flushing as she tried to keep it cool.

"Morris, what the hell have you got yourself into." Remus asked, shaking his head in disbelief.

"Nothing too crazy, same old same old. I swear I'm being safe about it, and it'll be completely useful toward our goal of bringing down Voldemort." Cas smiled sweetly, her hands behind her back as she rocked on her feet.

"Okay stop that creepy ass smile, I just got shivers. I'll help you, Merlin knows why, but i'll help you." Remus agreed, holding his hand up to block Cas' 'charming' smile.

"You will? Oh, I don't care what they say about you, you're alright Lupin!" Cas laughed, hugging Remus slightly before releasing him quickly.

"Whatever Cas, get on with it. What are we looking for?" Remus asked, pushing her away jokingly.

"I need information on the Drink of Despair." Cas muttered seriously.

"Merlin Cas, what did I just agree too."

xx

"Alright, I'm going to say two things. One, this bloody drink of despair is not in any of these texts, and two, you better clean this up if you don't want Moody to know about this." Remus exhaled, looking around the destroyed library.

They had spent the whole day searching through any promising looking book, to say they were discouraged was a understatement. Blowing hair out of her face, Cas slid down to the ground.

"Why is there no information on this bloody awful drink?" Cas groaned, rubbing her face roughly.

"Hey, maybe the drink isn't awful! Maybe the person who named it thought they were being funny!" Remus suggested jokingly, trying to get Cas to laugh.

"I guess that's one way to look at it." Cas laughed, laying on top of the pile of books.

"Only way to look at it. Too much gloom in our world right now. Merlin! Is that the time, I've got to go. Promised I'd meet Dor soon!" Remus muttered, grabbing his jacket from the desk before going to leave.

"Alright Rem, thanks for the help today! Have fun with your lady-cub!" Cas yelled, winking slightly at the word lady-cub.

Shuddering slightly at the thought of lady-cub vs. man-cub, Remus went to leave before decided turn back around.

"No problem, I'll check the Potter's library next time I'm over. They're used to me just being in their library. Oh and Cas?" Remus called.

"Yeah man-cub?" Cas smiled, turning around to face him.

"Be careful, with whatever this is. I've grown quite fond of you." Remus muttered, blushing slightly before leaving quickly.

Hearing the apparition pop, Cas sighed. She wished this was easier and that she could tell her friends what she was trying to do. She would if Regulas wouldn't freak out, they would understand that she needed to do this for herself and her late parents. But Regulas would never see it done, Sirius will never know his brother's true self and true potential. It's crazy to think about their relationship, and how all Sirius wanted over the years was for Regulas to realize he had other options. And how it finally happened, but she couldn't even tell Sirius what he was trying to do, and how much he was risking to try and get rid of Voldemort.

Sighing again, Cas brushed her hair from her face before facing the mess that was laid out in front of her. Checking her watch she realized she had a half an hour to clean all this mess up. Sighing, Cas got to work.

xx

Slipping slightly on the ice, Remus landed roughly outside of Dorcas' flat. Looking around in the shadows, Remus deemed it safe to enter. Making his way to the lifts, Remus nodded a hello to the security at the front desk. More for appearances than anything, Remus found himself in this lift a lot.

Ruffling his hair slightly, he waited for the lift to reach his floor. Sighing, Remus tried to think of his approach for tonight. For tonight, he had a serious matter to discuss with Dorcas, and he knew she would not handle the news very well.

Today was a big day all around, after stopping in at Molly's, Remus ran into Moody and Dumbledore. Which is why he knew Cas was at Moody's by herself in the library. Before he left, Dumbledore had pulled him into the office, asking something very great of him. A very big risk, but if executed properly could bring the order vital information. The issue? He would have to leave for long periods of time for these missions, and he wasn't allowed to tell anyone. Not even his closest friends, for Dumbledore feared there was a spy in the order.

Sighing again, Remus entered the lift, pressing Dorcas' floor number. Dumbledore wanted him to go underground and undercover with the werewolves, trying to read their motives. Dumbledore feared that Voldemort had been collecting werewolves on his side, and Remus' job was to figure out who was on his side, and who could be potentially brought to the order. Which could only mean one thing really, that the order was falling in numbers as Voldemort only grew stronger and stronger.

Which is why Remus helped Cas today, they needed a miracle, a one up on the death eaters or everyone was going to start disappearing and being terrified. They needed some sort of hope to hold onto, and if Cas had figured something out that could bring hope, he had to give it a shot.

Reaching Dorcas' floor, Remus walked slowly to her door, dreading the conversation that was about to happen.

Knocking slightly, Remus could hear Dorcas shuffling around in the living room before he heard her voice.

"Remus? Is that you?" Dorcas asked, clenching her wand tightly in her hand.

"Yes, it is me, Remus John Lupin, your boyfriend." Remus responded automatically.

"Your favourite thing in my possession?" Dorcas asked, looking in her peep hole.

"Erm- your red knickers" Remus stuttered, blushing slightly as he looked up and down the hall.

The door opened slowly, showing off Dorcas in her robe. As the door opened Dorcas dropped her robe slowly to the ground.

"Permission granted." Dorcas smirked, very much nude.

Remus' breath caught in his throat as he took in the sight of his beautiful girlfriend. His face beat red, Remus rushed into the apartment, shutting the door roughly behind him before tackling his girlfriend into the nearby wall.

"Permission granted huh?" Remus growled, picking Dorcas up so she had to wrap her legs around his waist.

"Always." Dorcas purred, dragging her nails down Remus' back, causing him to moan slightly.

"Lucky me." Remus smirked, before grabbing Dorcas' face and roughly putting his lips on hers.

Tugging on her lip slightly, Remus ran his hands down her sides, before landing on her arse. Slapping her slightly, Dorcas moaned before working on Remus' belt.

"What's wrong love?" Remus asked, grinding into Dorcas slightly making her moan.

"These, bloody, trousers." Dorcas panted, working off the belt before pushing his trousers down, along with any other material keeping her body from his.

Panting slightly, Remus bit back a moan as their naked bodies finally touched, his member pulsing at the feeling of Dorcas. Her body radiating heat, Remus moved them from the wall, kissing her roughly once more. Pushing parchment and objects off her desk, Remus laid Dorcas down on the desk before entering her finally.

"Merlin, you feel amazing." Dorcas moaned as Remus started to move above her, panting as she cried out in pleasure.

"Oh Merlin Dor. I've missed you." Remus whispered seductively in her ear, before crashing into her once again.

Her words lost, Dorcas nodded frantically as another wave of pleasure hit her. Her hands found Remus' shoulders, her nails digging in slightly she began to trace his back as his pace quickened.

"Oh merlin Rem, fuck me." Dorcas pleaded, holding him tighter and tighter as he pounded further into Dorcas.

"Keep that up and I'm going to cum baby." Remus groaned as Dorcas bit into his shoulder.

"Cum for me, Rem." Dorcas purred, pulling him closer as she sucked on his neck hard.

Moaning loudly, Remus pulled Dorcas closer, tugging on her hair slightly before his lips found bodies moving together, Remus forgot all about what he came here to do that night. About the mission Dumbledore had given him, about the war going on around him and about anything that would force Remus to leave Dorcas' side. That night, the only thing that existed to Remus was Dorcas, her knickers and her tiny flat.

Cas groaned, pouring herself a glass of fire whiskey. It had been two days since Remus left, and she had yet to get any information from him about the Potter's library. Adding more fire whiskey to her glass, Cas shrugged. It was the weekend after all.

Tossing the drink back, Cas poured herself another one as she looked around her apartment. She didn't have much stuff, her apartment basically bare. But she never minded before, but for some reason it was starting to bug her now. There was nothing personal really here. Nothing to be left behind if she died. No one to really miss her presence and no one who would really remember her after a couple years. Sighing, Cas tossed back another glass. Those kind of thoughts always got Cas in trouble. Especially the year she was under cover, it was hard not to feel alone when you didn't have close relationships with anyone. Sighing again, Cas realized that now she did. She was finally on a good page with Moody, she sort of had a boyfriend and she finally had a group of friends who weren't hanging out with her because they pitied her. Smiling Cas poured herself another drink, popping a bagel into the toaster before sitting up on her counter.

Twirling her wand casually, Cas heard a pop in the living room. Startled, Cas almost dropped her wand.

'Smooth. Drop your wand when potential death eaters could be in the next room. Real smooth Morris.' Cas thought, tip toeing to the living room.

"Stop! Before you kill me, it's just me! Remus!" Remus called, covering his face slightly.

Sighing Cas tossed her wand onto the nearby table.

"Damn Lupin! You don't sneak up on people these days! I could've killed you!" Cas snapped, running her hands through her hair before going back into the kitchen.

"Missed you too!" Remus called, following her into the kitchen.

"Whatever Remus, you know I missed you. How is Dorcas?" Cas asked, buttering her bagel before sitting across from him.

"Oh sweet, is this coffee?" Remus asked, grabbing Cas' mug and taking a large gulp, only to choke on it seconds later. "Bit early for fire whiskey, don't you think? And Dor is fine." Remus trailed off, blushing at the thought of the past two days.

"Pervert." Cas scoffed, reading Remus' face. "And as for my drink, mind your business. It's five o'clock somewhere isn't it?" Cas laughed, pouring another glass.

"I'm good thanks, and don't you think you should tone it down? We have a meeting soon." Remus scolded, taking away the bottle and the mug.

"You used to be fun Remus, I understand why they call you the boring Marauder now." Cas smirked, leaning back in her chair slightly.

"Oy! Nobody says that! I am the most fun, I have loads of fun, all my friends always say so!" Remus defended, puffing his chest out jokingly.

"What friends?" Cas laughed as Remus' chest deflated.

"You really know how to make a man feel great Cas. Sirius is a lucky man." Remus stated flatly.

"Oh shut up. Anyways, what is this pleasant visit about?" Cas asked, hoping he brought her news on the drink of despair.

"Always the charmer, anyways! I looked into it and they had one book that mentioned it. The drink is usually used to guard something, and from the looks of things there isn't really a way to get around it. Some sort of living beast must drink the liquid, to the very last drop. Which will eventually kill them." Remus stated factually.

"Great! Thanks Rem!" Cas beamed.

"Someone potentially dying is great? Aren't you sadistic this morning!" Remus chuckled, stealing the other half of her bagel.

"Oy! Not what I meant, i just meant that it was so gr-" Cas started,

"A simple thank you will suffice Cas." Remus stated, holding his hand up to stop her rambling.

"Thank you." Cas responded.

"Also if you want to add that I'm your favourite Marauder and that I am oh so sexy, that couldn't hurt eith- OY! What was that for? That's it Morris, you're done for." Remus yelled, chasing her into the living room.

xx

"Alright let's be quick, there are some people outside that I would like to avoid." Regulas stated, sliding into the booth at the back of the Three Broomsticks.

"Scared Black?" Cas smirked, crossing her legs.

"Ah, so you found out who I was. I figured you would after I ran into my dearest brother the other day. Very quick to put two and two together. I was surprised you didn't recognize me from the start. I thought every one knew me at Hogwarts as Sirius' kid brother." Regulas stated, ignoring her comment about being scared.

"Wasn't at Hogwarts long." Was all Cas said.

"Right, parents died, all that shit. Anyways, give me everything you found out. Like I sa-" Regulas started.

"There are people outside you want to avoid, I heard you the first time Black. To get on with it, I found out that the drink is usually used as a protective guard for something, or some sort of force field. To get past it, from what I could find out, isn't too easy. Some sort of living creature, be it man or otherwise, must drink the full liquid, to the very last drop. Without doing this, you cannot reach whatever the drink is guarding. But in doing so, the person or whatever who drank it will die." Cas concluded, her hands shaking at the thought of possible information.

"Great, just as I feared. Alright, that will be all then." Regulas muttered, sliding from the booth.

"Oy! What about the other half of the deal? You promised me names!" Cas demanded, already out of the booth and in between him and the exit.

"And you will, be patient. This has to be handled carefully. So for once in your life, stay the fuck out of it and shut that big mouth of yours before it gets you in trouble. You may be fucking my brother, but you will not fuck with me. I will contact you when I find out more." Regulas sneered before exiting quickly with his hood drawn.

"Fuck!" Cas cried, slamming herself back down in the booth.

Calming her breaths, Cas tried to remain positive, she would just have to trust him to give her names. Trust the death eater. Great.

'How the hell do I find myself in these situations.' Cas wondered, raising her hand to order another butter beer before downing her previous one.

For now she will wait, as patiently as she can. She will give him two weeks. If she doesn't hear a response by then, then she will go out and find him herself. After all, a deal is a deal.

xx

Three Weeks Later

"I hate all men!" Cas cried out, crushing the letter in her hand.

As promised, Cas had waited the two weeks before sending multiple letters. All of which were ignored, until this one. Rereading the letter again, Cas had wished she didn't get any letters at all. No news would be better than this.

"Stop owling me. I will be in touch ASAP. It is too risky. Fuck off." Cas read out loud before crushing the letter into a ball and pitching it into the fire.

"IT'S TOO RISKY HUH? SO WAS CREEPING AROUND MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS FOR INFORMATION. SO WAS BETRAYING THE TRUST OF MY GODFATHER TO EXPLOIT HIS LIBRARY. FUCK YOU BLACK. FUCK FUCK FUCK YOU." Cas screamed kicking over her end table.

The shards of glasses smashing in all directions.

"FUCK YOU CHEAP ASS TABLE. FUCK ALL THIS GLASS." Cas yelled, kicking the table away from her before tripping to the couch.

"What the bloody hell happened here?" Sirius asked, walking into the destroyed living room.

"The god damned table got what it had coming, that's what happened!" Cas huffed, sitting roughly on her couch.

"I always knew that table was a sketchy bastard, great job at getting the asshole out of here!" Sirius joked cautiously, walking over the glass to reach his girlfriend "not girlfriend".

"Damn straight." Cas sighed, her anger leaving her as she slumped against Sirius. "Sorry, I am just so fed up with nothing changing, despite all the bull shit we have to go through. I just wish things would start going our way for once." Cas admitted.

"I know you do, I do too. But for now, we have to deal with our shitty ass lives, and try to make the best of it. Like for instance, at least we still have each other, and our friends and of course fire whiskey. Where would we be without fire whiskey lass?" Sirius joked, tickling Cas' side slightly.

"Sirius! Cut that out!" Cas laughed, squirming away from his hands.

"Did you say 'Sirius, keep tickling me'? Cause that's what I heard. Well if that's what you want, that is what you'll get." Sirius laughing, pinning her down.

"I think I kind of like you Black." Cas admitted, staring up at Sirius from beneath his legs.

"Well that was out of no where, I kind of like me too." Sirius smiled, rubbing the side of her face slightly.

Bending down Sirius brushed his lips against hers, pulling away slightly to look into her eyes.

"Tosser." Cas breathed.

"Twat." Sirius threw back, kissing her harder this time.

"I kind of like you too Morris." Sirius whispered, kissing her again before getting up. "Want more butter beer?"

"Make it a double. I need to wash down all that mushy feelings bull shit." Cas replied cheekily.

"My thoughts exactly lass. Doubles all around."
