Sybil's driving lessons started that afternoon, and she could not wait to start. She would see Branson again. She decided to go to the garage early.
"Hello, Branson are you in here?" questioned Sybil.
" Yes I'm here, My Lady. She just needed a tune up before the lesson. Are you ready to start?" replied Branson as he came out from under the car.
"Yes, how do I start?" said Sybil eagerly.
"Well, we should drive to a calm place before you start." said Branson.
" Okay, Do you know where the old Inn used to be? It is deserted now." Questioned Sybil
" My, Lady you have just read my mind," smiled Branson.
Sybil laughed as the car drove away towards the old inn, and Branson joined in with a small chuckle.
meanwhile in Mary's room...
"Oh, Anna, I think I am in love with him." sighed Mary.
" With who, My Lady?"
" Cousin Matthew. I know Mama and Papa wanted me to marry him even if I did not love him. Now if he asked me today I would surely say yes." Smiled Mary
Mary smile was so big Anna thought her face would split in two, but she smiled as she thought of herself and Mr. Bates.
" That is just lovely, My Lady." smiled Anna as she finished Lady Mary's hair.
" That will be all. Thank you, Anna." said Mary as she went down to the drawing room to await the arrival of her grandmother and her new grandfather.
Meanwhile at the old inn...
Tom braced him self as he went to the opposite side of the vehicle letting Sybil take the wheel for the first time. He let out a breath that he did not know he was holding.
"You drive much better than your sister, My Lady." said the shocked chauffeur.
" Do you really think so?" questioned Sybil not ready to believe him just yet.
" Yes, the first time she drove she bumped into that tree." said Tom as he pointed to a young tree that was growing on a tilt.
"Oh my, Did Papa know about that?" asked Sybil.
" No, It was only a scratch. I painted over it." said Tom.
"Oh, okay." replied Sybil
They then continued their lesson until Tom decided that was enough for the first lesson.
