In Mr. Carson's Office...
" Thomas, What do you have against William?" questioned Carson.
Taken aback by this question, Thomas took his time in replying.
" What makes you think I have anything against him, Mr. Carson?" replied Thomas.
"You do realize that your glares across the table are not invisible. Bates told me that his lordship was concerned that you had something against the poor lad." Said Carson.
" I can assure you, I do not have anything against William." said Thomas shortly. He then briskly walked out of the office. "I only wish that I could get him back for dumping that water on my head." he thought to himself.
"I wonder where Mary is." Edith thought aloud.
" Well, Matthew asked for her. She is most likely with him." replied an amused Michael.
As Michael replied the door opened and Cora and Robert, along with Cora's parents entered.
" Mama, I thought Doctor Clarkson told you to stay in bed." said Sybil.
"Oh, he said that I should take it easy. I can walk around as long as I don't tire myself out." replied Cora.
As Sybil was about to reply Mary and Matthew entered. They both had huge grins on thier face.
" What is it?" questioned Edith.
"We are engaged!" exclaimed Mary happily.
" It's about time." said Martha earning a laugh from the entire room while her husband heartily congratulated the couple.
Robert and Cora wished them the best of happiness. Edith and Michael came together to congratulate them. Sybil was the last to congratulate them.
" I am so happy for you both. I cannot wait for you to officially be our brother, Matthew." said Sybil.
" Thank you, Sybil" said Mary.
"I cannot agree more." said Matthew.
Then they all went to eat dinner.
After Dinner in the garage...
As Tom entered the garage he saw a sleeping Lady Sybil in the car. When he moved from the spot he did not know he had been occupying for more than a minute, he noticed that Sybil was shaking.
" My Lady, my Lady!" Said Tom as he gently shook her awake.
" What...Wait... Where am I?" questioned a dazed Sybil.
" My Lady, you are in the garage." said Tom.
"How did I get here, Branson?" Sybil questioned.
" I have no idea, My Lady. You were there when I came in." replied Branson.
" Please don't call me that." said Sybil.
" Call you what?" he questioned.
" My Lady. It is so cold and formal. Please call me Sybil." she said.
" Of course, Sybil, but if I call you Sybil will you call me Tom?" he replied and questioned.
"That will be all right." said Sybil.
They sat for silence for a few minutes, then they heard frantic footsteps.
" Sybil! Sybil!" exclaimed Mary while rushing to her sister's side.
" What is it, Mary?" Sybil questioned.
" We have been looking for you everywhere. What are you doing out here anyway?" questioned a confused Mary.
" I have no idea. Branson found me." she said confusedly.
" How did you find her, Branson?" questioned Mary.
" She was sleeping in the car, My Lady." replied Branson
At this time Mary noticed that Sybil was flushed and shivering.
" Sybil, you are burning up!" exclaimed Mary.
"What do you mean? I am freezing." said Sybil.
Upon hearing this Mary immediately got her sister out of the car.
"Branson, please go fetch Doctor Clarkson." commanded Mary.
"Very good, My Lady." replied Branson.
As he drove away Mary took Sybil into the house.
" Carson, please notify Dr. Clarkson that Branson is on his way to fetch him." said Mary as she helped Sybil up the stairs."
When Clarkson was done examining Sybil he turned to Mary, who had refused to leave her sleeping sister's side.
" My Lady, were you and Branson the only people in contact with Lady Sybil?" The doctor questioned.
" Matthew was the only other person, Doctor." replied Mary.
" I am afraid that Lady Sybil may have the Spanish flu. I will have to examine you to see if you have it as well." said Doctor Clarkson glumly.
Mary gasped and looked at her youngest sister.
" Whatever you say doctor." replied Mary.
After examining Mary Doctor Clarkson went downstairs.
" I am afraid that Lady Sybil has the Spanish flu." said Doctor Clarkson gravely.
