"Mr. Crawley, here is the information you have requested on the Duke of Kerry." said his assistant.

" Thank you Elisabeth." said Matthew as he took the file.

There were several documents. one title read "The Lord of Kerry Dead, Or is He?" Matthew picked this up and started to read.

The Lord of Kerry, James Carrey, presumably dead for nearly thirty years has resurfaced in England.

The Lord was on a business trip to South Africa. The ship got caught in a storm and sunk. There were supposedly no survivors. That is, until eight months ago when a man claiming to be him mysteriously showed up in New York. He married a woman by the name of Martha Levinson, and then disappeared to England with his new bride. But is this the same man or is He just an imposter trying to get Levinson's fortune?

When Matthew read this he left with the files and went to the dower house.

At the Dower House...

"Mr. Matthew Crawley is here to see you, My Lady." said Spratt.

" Send him in." replied Violet not looking up from the book in her hand.

A moment later Matthew entered.

" Hello, Cousin Violet." said Matthew as he entered.

" Hello, Matthew, what brings you here." questioned Violet.

" I found something." He replied

Violet quickly dismissed Spratt.

" What did you find?" she asked.

Matthew showed her the files on Carrey, and hands her the specific one he looked at earlier that day.

After she read the file she looked at Matthew with an unreadable expression on her face.

" We must not show anyone else this article until we know more." said Violet.

" There is another file that is quite convincing." replied Matthew.

He then showed her this file:

The Lord of Kerry has been found alive and well. His ship that was in a storm off the coast of Liberia sunk. He fell overboard and lost his memory, until about eight months ago. When he regained his memories he immediately wired his wife Martha, and came to the United States where they renewed their vows. Martha then took the last name Carrey.

"That is very interesting." remarked Violet.

"That also agrees with what Lord Carey says." replied Matthew.

" You sound as if you want him to really be him." said Violet.

" Well, I really do want it to be him. Do you not?" replied Matthew.

" Oh, of course I do. I am just concerned that they got their hopes up to quickly." replied Violet.

"Well, I must be going. It was nice seeing you, Cousin Violet." said Matthew.

" It was nice to see you too." said Violet.

Then Matthew left.

At the main house...

" Cora, you are supposed to be in bed." chided Robert.

" I know, Robert, but I wanted to socialize." she said gesturing to her parents.

" Yes, Dear, but the baby can come any day now. You need your rest." He stated.

" Robert, Cora must move at least little bit so she doesn't get stiff." said Martha.

"" Yes, Martha, but she must not move too much. I agree with Robert she needs her rest." replied James.

" Ah, My dear have you seen Edith." said Robert quickly changing the subject.

" She is in London today." replied Cora.

In London...

Edith was walking the streets of to Michael Gregson's flat when suddenly she saw him running, but she didn't see the police officer behind him.

" Michael!" she called as she started running after him.

He looked back briefly, but kept running. As she was running she tripped. She prepared for the impact with the pavement, but it never came. She felt two strong arms wrap around her waist. Looking up, brown eyes met brown.

" Thank you." she said looking up at the gentleman who had saved her.

" You are welcome. May I ask why you were chasing Mr. Gregson." he said the last words coming out bitterly.

" I was going to meet him. Then I saw him running." she replied.

" Yes, He was always one for trouble." he replied. As he looked on he saw Gregson being cuffed.

Edith saw this as well, and she ran to Michael. Her rescuer right on her heels.

" Ma'am I would stay away from this one if I were you." he said gesturing to the cuffed man..

" Why, What has he done." she asked clearly distressed.

" He has been found guilty of the impersonation, and murder of Michael Gregson." replied the officer.

" Who is he then?" she asked.

The police officer was about to answer, but her rescuer answered for him."

" That is Antony, Michael's twin brother. He would also be the owner of Michael's publishing house after he died." he said.

Edith was now weeping bitterly.

" I know it is not the best time, but I never got your name." The young man said.

" My name is Edith Crawley." she replied.

" I am Bertie Pelham." he replied.

The officer then suggested that they leave the scene at once. At his request they left.

A few hours later...

When everyone, excluding Edith was at dinner Carson came in.

" My Lord, Lady Edith, has got in. She wishes not to be disturbed. If you do not mind me saying so, my Lord, she looked rather upset."

" Mary looked up. " I will see what is wrong." she said and then she made her way to her younger sister's room.

She knocked on the door.

" Edith, may I come in?" she questioned.

Mary heard no reply but entered anyway.

" Edith what is wrong?" asked the older girl.

" He's dead, Mary." Edith cried.

" Who is dead?" Mary asked.

" Michael." she replied.

" What! How, who did it?" Mary asked in utter shock.

" His brother killed him, and has been impersonating him ever since." She said and then she began crying again.

" Oh, Edith that is terrible!" Mary said genuinely.

"Why do you care? You haven't cared what's happened to me since the cake incident." Edith asked.

" Edith, that was twenty years ago. Can we put our differences aside now, and pretend that it never happened." Mary asked.

" Yes, I would like that." Edith replied.

Her sister came over to her, and hugged her. That is how Anna found them the next morning.
