'Let me be a part of this,'
'I have no idea what you're talking about,'
The pitch black dungeon made it hard to look each other in the eye, a perfect situation to avoid contact.
'You're miserable, aren't you? Miserable without her and you will remain to be so. That's why it felt more than right to let them,' The tip of my wand was piercing on the surface from his underarm like a needle. In haste he withdrew his arm but I was too fast, took it with my hand, burying my nails in the exact area I was pointing at before.
'What to do you want from me?' he asked, gritting his teeth at his failed attempt to disappear into the darkness. He tried to conceal his panic, but it was still showing.
'Severus Snape. I have studied you, observed you as you were slipping away during classes and in hallways. I have seen the subtle growth in your skills and now I am here with an offer,' Thanks to the soft light of the candle behind me I could catch a glimpse of his face once I spoke those words and I noticed his eyes narrowing in response.
'I suggest we should get on with our day, Morgan,' he said, almost throwing up on my surname. We may be placed in the same House, it never made us more friendly towards another. The way he spat my name out almost made me sound like a mudblood he'd encountered. I let him go but there's still no way he'd be able to pass me.
'I want you to marry me,' I officially sounded insane, I almost believed myself to be insane just by hearing it roll over my own tongue. But I said it convincing enough to show no doubt in my voice. I wanted to take in every movement he made since I spoke those words. But there were none. Lifeless he'd stand in front of me, as if he didn't hear the utter bullshit I just started.
'Marry me,' I repeated, a bit more clear in case he was waiting for me to confess to a prank. This time I hit the right nerve as he came closer to me, pushing me against the wall with the coldest look in his eyes that I have ever witnessed as a warning.
'Don't speak such words to me ever again,' he threatened, as if I wished someone a death sentence. I sounded insane, no person on earth would doubt that. Completely insane to the core. I pushed him away from me, creating enough space to look each other in the eye as decent human beings holding a conversation, determined to keep it going. I have to convince him, before winter break started.
'We are on the edge of war and we all have a part to play-' I didn't even get to finish my sentence as he tried to shove me to the left as an attempt to leave the dungeons. Immediately I saw right through him and kept him on a distance, blocking the path by holding my both arms against the walls.
'I know that you are about to join him, I know your fears and I know your hopes. I need protection and in order to keep my family in a neutralized position I want to be by your side. I wil have a dark flaw keeping my perfect little life peaceful and you won't die alone,' I persuaded fiercely.
'I am sure you have better options available to you,' Amused by his words I shook my head, as if he the very first and only person I could think of.
'A better option? You mean just the average pureblood student that has no particular use to him, which makes us easy targets to be used as tools to give up names of blood traitors and turning a blind eye when it's the final moments of just another mudblood only out of fear to be treated just like them?' I suggested, raising an eyebrow out of irony towards the idea itself.
'If I have to live in chaos, I will demand to be in control over it,' Spoken as a true Slytherin, I thought to myself. I think I finally got through to him as he lost the desire to escape me and the look in his eyes somewhat changed. He realized that I had thought this through and to be fair, it's not like he would be sacrificing anything by giving me what I want.
'Meet me tomorrow on the forbidden floor,' Finally, he was willing to listen.
