we where scared from being captured, adreneline flowed thought our veins. We ran throught woods and throught fences. Danny's eyes where filled with pus from them trying to heal. Those damn scientists. They had taken his eyes in an experiment. those bastards. Danny fell to his knees, crying out as his knee cracked against a rock. Danny was helpless. He was nothing without his sight. " Raven" he said, his voice cracked from dehydration" I want to go home". I was forced to look away, His eyes where slowley reforming but the glow of sight wasnt there. He was blind, "Danny, we cant go home. Im sorry" I started to walk away, not wanting to be there when he realized that we could never make it on our own." We need to stick togeather" Danny muttered "at least until I can see agian. It may be years but I need you until then. Please Ra-" I cut him off "Shadow". "What?" he asked " Im done being human, Im Shadow now. I will protect you until my life force diminishes to nothing and then I will give you my energy." I say, laying my hand on his cheek." Shadow, will you really keep me safe?" I smile. It was the begining of a beautiful relationship.
End Flashback
I turned to growl at the Titans East when Danny shifted and stiffened. There was a disturbance. They soon left after seeing that we where fine. I personaly liked the normal titans better than those weirdos from the east. Danny was still shaken from the encounter with the freakshow lard ass. I shifted back into human, shaking a bit myself. " Danny." I say " I dont think that Im going to last for very long. I think I have about three monthes left." Danny whiped around, his eyes searching for me in nothing. " Shadow, you cant be serious. Thats no time at all." I sigh, nothing will give me the time I want. But if I can get Danny a few more years. The issue with being half ghost or a Chimera like me is that we dont get a long life. We life for a fifth of a human lifespand if we are lucky. Danny will get up to twenty years more if I give him my energy force. I was fated to die at six. Its been two years since then. I was lucky to live this long. I was like a nineteen year old but... I would never see the real drinking age or the age to vote. I sighed again and grabbed a book of the shelf. The book was bright orange and smelled new, harry potter and the sorcerers stone by JK Rowling. I smiled, a good book I hoped. Nothing said that your life had to end on a sour note.
