Chapter 4: Something Lost, Nothing Returned.

Cao pi sat watching Zhang He sleep through the night, he hadn't woken the other up just yet about Sol He. She was stabbed while she was at the stables. Question was why she was there alone and who stabbed her, what would cause anyone to stab Sol He and Why did she seem so cold to his touch suddenly. Zhang He started to make a noise in his sleep calling for his wife before waking up, Cao pi stood and walked to his side slowly and sat down. "Zhang He." He spoke softly as he walked over to him and sat on the floor beside the other.

"Where is Sol He, is she okay..." Zhang He looked around for his wife with a look of fear and concern for his wife which to be honest was good to Cao pi, Zhang He looked at his friend and noticed the somber look on his face and his heart slowed down his chest. "Cao pi? Where is my wife?" He spoke softly to him as he stared at him touching his own wrapped cheek for a moment and noted his wife had to have done it. She was trying so hard to be so good to him, but she knew nothing on how to take care of him, He watched the other as he began to speak.

"Your Wife is being put to a doctor, she was attacked and stabbed in the side before being left at a Stable." He spoke trying to forget the image of the woman just lying there being covered in her own blood. "She is alive though and so is your horse, all of the horses made it which makes me think it was on purpose. Someone let all the horses out and pulled her out of there before lighting the stable a blaze." He spoke calmly as he looked at Zhang He who was confused.

"Why would anyone attack my wife?" He looked at him and tilted his head confused. "Especially her, she hasn't done anything wrong but try to be a good wife and keep beside me." He spoke horrified and confused by the sudden change in his life. "Your face says there's more Cao pi..." The other spoke to him softly as he watched his friends face look away.

"The doctor said that there was another person injured. A child that was coming into the world." Cao pi breathed out shakily as he tried to keep his own self calm at that. He didn't want to tell the other, but he had too, He had to let the other know what was going on and how bad it was becoming for all of them. "I'm sorry Zhang He.."He spoke standing up as he watched the other man stare at his hands in horror, he didn't want to leave the other behind but he knew if he needed to be alone at the same time.

As soon as the sliding doors shut anger came across Zhang He's face as he watched Cao pi leave, he clenched his fingers as he stared before hearing a soft voice behind him.

"She will be fine and don't worry you can make more children." The Short black-haired girl stood behind him, her hand resting gently on his shoulder. "You know that bringing a child into this world would not be safe, my sister is just trying to make sure that your child didn't get brought into the master plan." She spoke softly as she watched him and stroked his cheek gently.

"Why like this though?" Zhang, He spoke angrily as he stared at the masked woman. "Mae Mae, why like this, why hurt her and take a child from this earth. The divines blessed us with a child and you took it from me." He spoke to her and glared as if trying to reach into her soul to make her feel what he was feeling at that exact moment.

Mimi watched him as she turned her hand and slapped him across the face. "Let me answer this, Why not? The process would have been far worse then anything you imagined my sister made it easy for her and that child, that child specifically could not come into this world knowing what it's parents would be going through, that child would be exposed to not just my families present it would be disposed of before it had a chance to breath. We lessened that pain before you could know what happened." She spoke coldly before a cold laugh came from the other side of him and a foot buried into his side.

Zhang He stared up as he felt a foot start burying into his side, a male stood pushing his foot into his already bruised rips. "Ah!" Zhang He cried out as he felt the pressure growing stronger and stronger.

"Trust us Zhang, we are trying to make sure your life is peaceful and not being destroyed inside and out. Now you don't want to make mother angry now do you?" The male spoke before removing his foot from the other side.

Mimi rolled her eyes not happy to see the male pushing his foot into the other side. "He damaged as it is Yun, stop hurting him already I think you caused him enough damage then you were supposed to anyway. Don't make me tell mother your going against her Will." Mimi taunted as she watched him closely and the other stared at her before moving back.

Zhang laid there trying to breath as he watched the two talks over him like he was nothing but a play toy, they nearly killed his wife and killed his unborn child and now were just toying with him. But it dawned on him the more he thought of their words, His wife was alive, and she would be happy, A child would have died if he told them that she can go on the field. "I. Understand." He spoke calmly as he moved to get up.

Yun stared down at him for a moment stoic but inside finding himself pleased the other understood so quickly of what was going on. "So now you understand huh? That this is just apart of a plan to take care of you." He spoke softly to him before moving to leave. "Shall we dear sister?" the other spoke wanting to leave the over whelming smell that was approaching and fast.

Mimi nodded as she looked down at the other male. "Zhang I do like you, I hope you don't upset mother it would be terrible of you to do so." She spoke softly to him as she slipped out leaving the man alone to be in his own thoughts. She walked with her brother down the hall as servants ran by them like they weren't even being seen. "Power makes people do, such stupid things." She spoke walking with him as they hid behind a podium as Cao pi walked by before leaving through the same door he was coming in from.

_A week later_

Sol He woke up feeling hungry and thirsty as she let her eyes adjust into the dark room, she sat up slowly before hearing a small noise and looked up, seeing a woman with short white hair and dark ebony skin staring at her from her seat at the window. "Mother?" Sol He spoke in awe seeing the woman in front of her for the first time, since she heard of the plan from Mimi who spoke of the elder so highly.

"Good morning Sol He, Sleep well?" The voice spoke as dark purple eyes stared at her with the moon just showing the women's face whose smile was just as deadly as her teeth in her mouth. "Hungry?" The woman spoke who walked over to her slowly. Before stopping a foot away from the bed her hand held out to Sol He who scrambled quickly to get out of the bed. "Now now, Sweet child brought to me by the sun. My sweet ingredient." The woman spoke gently grabbed the woman and held her to the elders' body. She laid the girls head onto her chest and sat petting her head gently and lovingly.

Sol He felt so honored and felt so welcomed in her new mother arms. "Mother." Sol He spoke before feeling something warm, no.. hot even be brought to her lips and looked up to the deep purple eyes glowing into her own before opening her mouth and accepting the embrace from the elderly woman who made her feel so happy. She had everything she's ever wanted and the promising of more to come, she drank from the other woman as she felt so comfortable.

"Now Sol He, there's much more to the story I'm going to tell you that I didn't tell you before." The woman spoke to her and began to tell her a tale of a woman who was taken from her love before finding the true betrayal and pain that love really offered before having her children who was raised to love the mother and hate the father and begin a dynasty of happiness, tranquility and love while destroying those who didn't understand what love and beauty really was. "And you my dear will be one of my Generals, or better yet one of my prefects." She spoke softly as she stroked her hair. "Now Rest my love, tomorrow begins your first show." She spoke softly to her before laying Sol He back down and kissing her head like a mother would do for her child. "Sleep well." The woman spoke before disappearing into the shadows like she had appeared to her.

Sol He closed her eyes and allowed sleep to take her again before morning came, Morning came like a blur to her people screaming for someone to get her husband who to her was now useless, but the show must go on. She laid there as her husband finally walked into the room with that stupid limp of his before going to her side and instantly whispering sweet words to her.

Zhang He sat petting his wives' hair before blinking. "My love does you remember anything that happened to you?" He spoke as Cao pi walked into the room and stared at her with worry and tilting his head wondering what words were going to come from her mouth.

Sol He blinked and tilted her head. "It was blue. Two people holding weapons demanding for me to come with them, then I was stabbed, and they poured something into my eyes. So, I couldn't tell their faces. I couldn't tell anyway cause their faces were covered." She spoke her voice came as a hiccup before blinking and looking at her husband. "My love..Why?" She spoke crying finally as she held onto him and tried to keep her strength from showing.

"How is your side?" Zhang He spoke wanting to know what was wrong, he didn't know what the true extent of the mothers was.

The elderly doctor walked in and smiled. "She will be fine; her stab wound was small enough to cancel the baby however. She was able to heal quite well with one of my herbs." The doctor spoke slowly and sat beside the woman as if checking her out.

Cao pi blinked remembering the pool of blood around her before shaking his head. "Are you sure?" He spoke curiously as he walked closer to the bed and looked at her curiously.

"I'm fine. I want to join the next battle. If they are to show up again I want to be able to get revenge for what they did to my child. To me." She spoke glaring at Cao pi wanting him to deny her fake revenge.

Cao pi couldn't deny the woman that all and shook his head slowly wanting to tell her know before sighing, he knew the extent of a woman's anger but not to this point. "As you wish, but I want you to know you could- "

"I know the costs but that was my child that was taken from me." Sol He spoke to him as she tried to get up slowly and stared at the other closely.

Cao pi nodded as he looked at Zhang He who stared at his wife before nodding. "If she wants to fight for our goal then. Let her. I will be out of commission for a while." He spoke softly to him.
