Hello, everybody! I would like to start out this chapter by introducing the first submitted and accepted OC for Wings of Mist! Give it up for, drumrooooll, please! *Drumroll* WILDFANG!

Wildfang Muse: You DO realize that your first sentence was a run-on, right?

Me: … Um… Ome

Wildfang Muse: And you misspelled drumroll.

Me: I-I-I just-!

Wildfang Muse: AND that twitchy eye emoticon is grammatically incorrect.

Me: …

Wildfang Muse: And "I-I-I" is ALSO incorrect.

Me: …

Wildfang Muse: Not to mention all of the grammatical, spelling, and continuity errors in all of your previous chapters-!

Crystal Muse: EVERYONE HIT THE DECK, IT'S A GRAMMAR NAZI!

Clementine Muse: Oh come on, I think you're overreacting a little bit. I mean, come on, he's just trying to be helpful!

Wildfang Muse: You forgot a comma after the "Oh", by the way.

Clementine Muse: … *Sighs* Excuse me for trying to be nice.

Me: *Had been banging my head against the wall for a while now. Quietly to myself* I just wanted to have a nice intro and introduce the first OC that was submitted, you know, just have a fun time, but no, I had to get the one who would correct my every little mistake that I already notice after rereading the chapters in search of new ideas…

Wildfang Muse: You're killing your brain cells, you know. Oh, and also, that was another run-on sent-!

Me: OKAY, THAT'S ENOUGH! DISCLAIMER TIME!

I do not own Wings of Fire OR Wildfang as a character. All rights go to their proper owners.

"I STILL think that ignoring Orchid's advice like that was a little rude," Clementine frowned disapprovingly, walking alongside her friend on their way to the music room. "You could have at least stayed behind to explain your painting to her, instead of just walking off like you did." Mist shrugged in response, trying to bite back a defensive reply.

"I really didn't mean to make her feel bad; honestly, I felt as though keeping the rainbow hidden in the spray from the waterfall symbolized how you have to open your eyes and actively search for hope. Even though it's always there, somewhere, if you don't look for hope and try to keep it in sight? Then you'll be missing what's right in front of your face." She replied instead, a faint pink mixed with blue-gray seeping into her scales as she continued. "In my personal opinion, if everyone simply made an effort to look for the good in others rather than focusing on ONLY the bad that's clear to see, then the world would be a much happier, brighter, and safer place." Mist hung her head, her wings slightly drooping. I just wish that everyone else could see that… We may all do horrible things in our lifetime, but that shouldn't define who we are… There's always a spark of goodness in everyone if we just have the courage to find it… Turning back to Clementine, Mist was both shocked and overjoyed to find that her friend was smiling, her eyes and her scales shining with understanding.

"Yeah… Everyone has some spark of goodness in them, even if their actions say otherwise. We really don't know why other dragons do what they do; we just have to do our best to show them kindness, in any way that we can. Right?" She turned to face Mist again, her former knowing expression replaced by a goofy grin. A warm mix of soft pink and bright yellow cascaded through Mist's wings, flowing over her scales and washing away all traces of blue-gray.

"How is it that you always know what I'm thinking?" She laughed, mirroring the same bright smile of her closest friend and giving her a light shoulder bump. Clementine's eyes and scales shined with mischief and humor, her voice dropping to a rather humorous interpretation of Webs. Or Fatespeaker. Mist thought, stifling a giggle.

"Because I'm… PSYCHIC!" She murmured, before erupting into howls of laughter, to which both friends heartily took part in. No matter what happens, Mist pondered in between her bursts of giggles. We'll always be friends… And nothing can change that. However, both the light-heartedness in the air as well as her train of thought vanished like morning dew against the scorching desert sun when she came across the RainWing from the Bismuth Winglet.

He was reading the scroll that had been destroyed before Mist and Clementine could finish it.

"Hey! That's the scroll we were reading last week, the one that got ruined!" She exclaimed, swirls of orange and hints of deep red swirling through her scales like wildfire, so she could not hide the trace of accusation in her tone. The RainWing- his name was Wildfang -looked up to her with a puzzled expression.

"It just came in today. You two can read it if you want, but I honestly wouldn't recommend it. It's just chalk-full of grammar errors. Not to mention the continuity mistakes… I had checked it out because I was interested, but you can read it if you want. I'm finished with it anyways." He smiled genially, rolling up the scroll and handing it to them. "Be careful though; this scroll just came in, and part of it was apparently torn somehow or another. Plus, it's still checked out under my name." He added, cracking a joke at the end with a half-confident-half-nervous grin. In response, Mist cautiously accepted the scroll, her suspicions fading, yet at the same time germinating into a sapling of doubt. He's giving us the scroll, even though it's checked out under his name, slightly damaged, and if anything happens to the scroll he could get in serious trouble… Guess I can trust him for now. Smiling, Mist accepted the scroll, tucking them under her wing. Glancing over at Clementine, she saw from the corner of her eye that, as was the case with Inferno, her friend was acting unlike her usual self. However, rather than being less cheerful, a soft rose-pink was beginning to spread throughout her scales and along her wings.

"Th-Thanks, Wildfang…" She mumbled, shifting her talons and cracking a smile. "We were actually to blame for the original copy of this getting destroyed… What with Inferno's small little sneeze-fire a while back, we ran out of the library and left it unattended…. When we came back there was some sort of inky blotch on it, and it was RIGHT where we stopped reading! Pretty frustrating if you ask me." She rambled quickly, stopping only after Mist discreetly nudged her friend with her wing. To her surprise, Wildfang nodded in amused understanding, a small breath of a chuckle escaping his lips.

"You can say THAT again," He asserted, his smile twisting into a semi-frown. "I guess that's part of why I was a bit skeptical and annoyed with the scroll, since when I first got it, it was damaged. Just PLEASE don't let the whole thing tear, or Starflight will KILL me with lectures." Letting out a jovial laugh, he turned down the corridor to some of the other new caves and waved at them. "See you both later! Bye!" He chirped, most likely going back to his room. Huh. I guess I can trust him, at least a little bit. Mist mused with the beginnings of a mischievous grin. And it looks like now I have some ground to get back at Clementine for all that teasing about Furytalon.
