Klaus made it to the Mystic Grill. He didn't see any of his little doppelgänger's gang, not even Matt, who Rebeka was very fond of. Just the average unaware towns people.
Suddenly he heard a familiar voice. It was Tyler, he spotted him walking through the grill. He was still angry at Tyler. He felt betrayed. "After I took his curse away, How could he try to break the sire bond?" Klaus thought to himself.
Klaus took a chair at an empty table and started reading the menu, so he could keep an eye on Tyler.
"Have you seen Mason?" Tyler asked the bartender.
Klaus remembered Katerina mentioning a Mason when he had first came to Mystic Falls and was in Alaric's body. Katerina had told him that Mason was Tyler's Uncle. Who she was going to oringinally use for the sacrifice, but that plan had failed through when Damon killed Mason.
Klaus started to realize that he was deeper in the past than he expected or wanted. But this could be a good thing. Tyler had sat down at the bar and was playing on his phone, trying to find his uncle. Klaus felt another vampire in the room.
"Katerina" Klaus said calmly after he vamped behind her in an instant. Katherine slowly turned around in shock. "Klaus" she finally could whisper out. Katherine was too afraid to move or even blink. He snapped her neck and vamped her out the grill so fast nobody even noticed.
Klaus had got an apartment in the same building, Alaric lives in. He had Katherine tied upside down already draining her blood to get rid of the vervain.
He kept making deep slashes to hurry up the process. He didn't want to waste anytime.
Katherine finally woke up and was scrambling around like it was her first time seeing Klaus after all this time.
"Klaus, I...I...I'm trying to help you lift your curse. I've got a plan! Oh and a doppelgänger, she's alive and I've been trying to get everything in order for you. Please! You have to believe..." Katherine was trying to explain until Klaus interrupted by grabbing her throat to turn her back around from hanging upside down.
"Oh Katerina, You forgot I know everything" Klaus said with a psychotic smile. "I just need to know what's going on at this very point in time." Klaus added in. He looked in Katherine's eyes and compelled her to answer. Katherine explained how she has a werewolf named Mason, who currently has the moonstone. And how she turned Caroline into a vampire. She also had a witch that he could use named Lucy or she could use the local newbie witch, Bonnie.
Klaus was curious of why she was at the grill spying on Tyler. "The Salvatore brothers are starting to brainstorm my plans and they're getting closer. I was looking into a backup werewolf, that's all." Katherine explained.
"Mason has the moonstone" Klaus said out loud thinking to himself. " He is bringing it to me tonight" Katherine mentioned. "It might just be a little too late" Klaus replied. Katherine looked confused. "But maybe I can do something about it" Klaus said as he looked into Katherine's eyes compelling her to not leave town or tell anyone that he was there. And to check in and be his little spy.
Klaus headed straight for the Salvatore house hoping to find Damon and hopefully he hadn't already killed Mason.
"I love her" Mason had spoke out. "Oh I know, I've been where you are" Damon replied. Klaus came vamping in. He stood in front of Damon and looked into his eyes. "You killed Mason, and you just got rid of his body. You are cleaning up the mess and you don't remember seeing me at all" Klaus told Damon.
Klaus grabbed Mason and took him back to the apartment.
"Who are you?" Mason asked, as he was cleaning all the wolf's bane off his face. "I'm all you have, mate." Klaus replied. "I'm going to tell you everything, so listen closely." Klaus added in.
That's exactly what Klaus did. He explained that there wasn't no sun and moon curse. It was just a curse placed on him. He told Mason everything that he needed to break the curse. How Katherine was just using him as a pawn to be placed in the sacrifice. Even though Mason didn't want to believe that Katherine was just using him, he did. He believed everything Klaus was telling him.
"Katherine didn't tell me any of this" Mason said shaking his head, heartbroken.
Klaus even told him that he came from the future and all this has happened before. That he successfully broke the curse and was able to create hybrids, making werewolves be able to not turn during a full moon. Mason really liked that and wanted to be the first on the list. He hated turning.
"Damon killed you today, so you have to stay hidden. It could interfere with the rest of the events that has to occur." Klaus explained. Mason understood and after Klaus explained how Katherine activated Tyler's curse and got him mixed up in this, he was ready to do anything he could for Klaus.
Around that time Katherine walked in. She saw Mason with Klaus. "Katherine" Mason called out. He didn't really know what to say. "You told me to check in" Katherine said ignoring Mason and looking at Klaus. "Ah yes, what do you have?" Klaus asked. "They got the moonstone out of the vervain well" she replied. "I'm sorry, man" Mason apologized. "That's okay we eventually get it" Klaus replied. "But how?" Mason asked curiously. About that time Katherine's phone started to ring. It was Mason's number. "Remember not a word about this" Klaus reminded Katherine.
It was Damon telling Katherine that Mason was dead. "Great! Everything is on track" Klaus said after Katherine hung up. "You just have to do everything you was going to do, If Mason was dead for real." Klaus added.
"Except for messing with Tyler!" Mason yelled out at Katherine. She stepped back surprised that he would yell at her like that in front of Klaus. Demanding things and acting like an Alpha male. she knew Klaus and obviously Mason did not. "Mate. Okay calm down. mate" Klaus said trying to calm down Mason. "We are not going to mess with Tyler" Klaus added in.
"We're not?" Katherine asked curiously. Because if Damon had killed Mason, Tyler would be the first one she would mess with. But Klaus didn't want Tyler to get involved either. Maybe later on. But for right now, he didn't want Tyler to activate his curse and get close to Caroline. "Don't worry about the werewolf part. I've got that covered. Jules, another wolf will be used in the sacrifice." Klaus explained looking at Mason, making sure he knew that part.
"Jules... you can't" Mason said, confused that Klaus even knew who she was. "A werewolf has to be sacrificed mate, it's for the greater good, it's for the pack." Klaus explained trying to appeal to Mason's werewolf side.
Mason was sad about it but understood it was for the pack. "Okay so now what?" Katherine asked looking at Klaus. "Now go be Katherine and get me that moonstone" Klaus said with a smirk.
Katherine picked up the phone and called Jenna. She wasn't going to let her doppelgänger or her Salvatore bodyguards think they have the upper hand.
