Mason decided to stay at the apartment and miss out on the Masquerade. Klaus however, decided to go. He thought he would bump into a certain vampire he couldn't wait to see. Now that he had saved Mason and was preventing the whole Tyler situation, he could have fun and watch the story unfold first hand.

Nobody had told him about the Masquerade in his present time. so he figured nothing significant had happened during the event. He thought if he keeps his distance from Katherine and apparently some witch that she invited, than everything should run smoothly and how it should run. Katherine did tell him that she threatened the Salvatore's to hand over the moonstone at the masquerade. So he kept to himself for the most part. Searching the crowds for Caroline.

Suddenly he had heard Caroline, laughing and giggling. Caroline had just tricked Katherine Peirce and was proud of herself. But Klaus wasn't interested in that. He was only interested in making a good first impression. He followed her giggles until he found her.

"Having a good time? Love" Klaus advanced toward Caroline confidently. Caroline was caught off guard. She knew he was a vampire but didn't know who. "Yeah.. and who is this man behind the mask?" She asked him. Klaus felt her fear as soon she spoke. "I'm no threat, Love" Klaus stated as he held up his hands trying to prove he means no harm.

Caroline still had her doubts but thought she would give him a chance to prove himself. Afterall, she's a new vampire and she knows what it feels like to be judged before having a chance.

"So you're just here to help the homeless?" Caroline said still trying to get information but also to flirt a little. Klaus chuckled, "Yeah, well I love to donate to great cause." Klaus replied trying to flirt back and show his sweet side. Klaus could hear screaming from upstairs and outside. Him and Caroline both looked around. "What is going on?" Klaus asked Caroline calmly. "Nothing" Caroline replied trying to act like she doesn't know anything. But Klaus hadn't forgot what she just did to him in his present time. How she tricked him to come outside so they could try to kill Kol.

He pulled her close and looked in her eyes and asked her once more. "What's going on?" Compelling her to answer him truthfully. Klaus was holding her so close, he took her hands and started to dance with her. "We're trying to kill Katherine." Caroline answered and she didn't know how he was able to compel her. "How did you do that?" Caroline asked. "Do what?" Klaus asked, knowing what she meant but he wanted to play stupid like she tried to do with him. "Compel me? Vampires can't compel other Vampires" Caroline replied quietly so nobody would hear. "Well, I'm a special kind of Vampire" Klaus said with a smirk, still dancing with her so close and lost in her eyes.

Caroline didn't know if he was a threat or innocent. She just kept dancing lost in his eyes until the song was over and he compelled her once more.. "You can't tell anyone about me. Don't worry love, you'll figure everything out sooner or later. You will realize that you can trust me" Klaus said as he vamped away. Caroline still didn't know what to think and she had to keep it to herself. She could hear Matt and Tyler laughing in the distance with other girls. She figured Matt had moved on so she didn't have to feel guilty for crushing on this new guy in town. And who was he? Caroline thought to herself.

Klaus had rushed to see what Katherine had gotten into and hoped that Caroline had no big parts in the event. He might have already messed up. He seen Damon dragging her to some tomb. "I'm sorry mate, can't let you do that" Klaus stared into Damon's eyes. "Close the tomb and remember you left Katherine in there. Also you will forget about seeing me." Klaus said compelling Damon. Klaus grabbing The moonstone out of Katherine's hand. "Go back to the apartment" Klaus compelled Katherine then vamping away.

"Well now you're going to be stuck in this apartment as well." Klaus yelled at Katherine. "How could you let them trick you like that Katerina" Klaus asked. "Never mind, don't answer. I don't care" Klaus blurted out as he was walking away.

Klaus really didn't care, he just hoped he didn't mess up anything. He really needed to be careful. He couldn't stop thinking about Caroline. He didn't want to come across to her as a threat and compelling her already. He didn't want that but he had to stay focused on breaking his curse. He hated being just a vampire. He felt way better being a hybrid in his present time and he wanted to keep it that way.

The next morning Klaus woke up to Mason and Katherine fighting. "Whatever Katherine you're a selfish liar, don't give me that bullshit. Klaus told me everything" Mason yelled. "But you don't understand I started to form feelings for you" Katherine said back trying to seduce Mason. Like she always does when she is bored.

"You really can't help yourself Katerina" Klaus said walking in. Katherine jumped back out of Mason's face. "Why can't we just take her back to the tomb where they were going to leave her anyways" Mason asked. "We might need her, I don't really know every detail that happens yet mate." Klaus answered. "And why don't we just kill Mason like they were going to do anyways?" Katherine asked being sassy like always.

"Because he is very important. He is going to be my first hybrid. I would be more concerned about what's going to happen after the sacrifice, if I was you Katerina." Klaus replied with a smirk and Mason laughing with him.

"Stay here" Klaus commanded as he walked out the door. He was on his way to the Grill hoping to run into Caroline. Even though he knew she was was probably at school. Then He changed his mind and decided to go to the school. He wasn't to going to pretend to be a high school student. Maybe more of a teacher if anybody was to ask.

He was walking down the halls and heard Stefan and Bonnie talking about Elena's disappearance. Klaus was immediately concerned. Nobody mentioned any of this to him in his present. He wasn't sure if this was the way things were suppose to go. He heard Bonnie and Stefan talking about doing a locator spell. He decided to run back to apartment.

"Where is Elena?" Klaus yelled at Katherine. "I don't know I've been here" she answered while klaus was grabbing her throat grasping for air. "Well she's gone" Klaus said dropping her to floor. "And now I have to go follow her bodyguards and make sure they find her." Klaus added in, while Katherine was tying to catch her breath. He pointed at her and said, "This better not be your doing". Katherine was so scared she blurted out "I really have no idea". Klaus left the apartment to go find a car.

After about 3 hours they had stopped finally at some old mansion. Klaus let them go inside before he stepped out his car. He didn't want to be noticed. He just got close enough to listen to the conversation.
