Klaus was making his way through the woods to meet Caroline for their date. He was passing the tombstone when he heard Stefan and Elena chatting with Katherine.

"Because when Klaus shows up to kill us all — and he will... I'll be in the tomb, where no vampire will enter, because they can't get out. I'll be the safest psychotic bitch in town." Katherine explained.

Even though she knows Klaus needs Elena to stay alive after the sacrifice, for her blood to create hybrids. She just wanted to scare them because she wanted out of the tomb. And it wasn't fair that her doppelgänger got everything. Klaus just sat there til Stefan and Elena left. "I wouldn't say the Safest psychotic bitch in town." Klaus said as he stood there at the entrance of the tomb. Katherine came around the corner. "When can I come out?" Katherine asked. She was so bored in the tomb by herself. "Soon" Klaus answered as he walked away. Katherine just shook her head and rolled her eyes.

He was in front of the school in a flash because he had vamped there. Waiting on Caroline and hoping she would show. After a few mins, He noticed her making her way over to him. "You showed" he said in disbelief. "Yeah, I'm here" Caroline replied happy to see him as well. "It's gonna have to be short date though. I've got school tomorrow" Caroline added in. The two locked arms like earlier and decided to just go on a late night stroll.

"It's so nice out tonight. Quiet and all" Klaus said trying to start a conversation. "Yeah must be the calm before the storm" Caroline blurted out not thinking. "What storm?" Klaus asked curiously. Caroline didn't know if she should answer that. She barely knew this guy Nik. But for some reason she felt safe and comfortable with him. She figured that he could just compel it out of her anyways. Just like at he ball and he didn't really seem too interested when she had told him they were trying to kill Katherine. So Caroline figured there was no harm with sharing.

"My friends and I are kinda in a situation." Caroline said trying to say the least. "Oh? Anything I could do to help?" Klaus asked. "No...no we're fine." Caroline said trying to make Nik not worry. "Unless you know how to deal with very old ancient vampires and werewolves" she blurted out not thinking again. She really hated when she did that.

"I might know a thing or two" Klaus replied. He knew exactly what she was talking about. He just wanted to know how much she knew right now. "Well, there's this curse. The sun and the moon curse." Caroline explain. Klaus acted like he was surprised and this was new information to him.

She explained how Katherine had came to town wanting this moonstone to break the curse. If werewolves break it, it will free them from turning during the full moon. But if vampires break it, they will be free to roam in the sun.

"Honestly, I just wanted to give her the moonstone so she would just leave. I mean we already have daylight rings. What's the big deal?" Caroline continued to explain. Klaus chuckled a little, remembering when he had made that whole rumor up.

"And now there's this very old, like 1,000 yrs old vampire after my friend...Klaus or whoever. I don't really know, we're still trying to work out some of the details." Caroline said looking at Klaus, waiting for him to respond. "Well that is a situation" He replied. He didn't really know what to say. He wanted to help her and explain to her that everything was going to work out. But he couldn't without spilling all the beans. She might still be needed in the natural order of him breaking the curse. He didn't want to risk messing anything up.

"I'm sure everything is going to work out." Klaus said to comfort her. He couldn't help it, But it was okay because she didn't ask why or how he knew for sure. "This is nice" is all that she said. "I've been feeling so alone lately. You know I'm new to being a vampire" she said to Klaus. He looked at her surprised like he didn't know that either. "Could have fooled me, love" he replied. "Well I have a lot of self control" she explained to him. "But honestly I'm still figuring everything out and with this situation. I don't feel ready. I feel helpless." She added.

"Well you have me" Klaus said as he walked her up to her door. "Sorry for the short date and me just blabbing away." Caroline said as she stood in front of him debating how to end this conversation. She didn't want the date to be over. She wanted to talk longer and maybe get to know him. He was finally a guy she could date, without wanting to rip his neck off. "It's fine love, We have plenty of time to talk later" Klaus said while brushing a little peice of hair out of Caroline's eyes. She jumped up and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Thanks Nik, I had a really nice time" She whispered in his ear.

Klaus was so happy how things were going between him and Caroline. He was in the best of moods. He came back to the apartment where he found Mason bored. "I've never been a caged animal" Mason said. "Well let's go out for a little while. Nobody's out. It's quiet" Klaus replied, he was still in a good mood. They ended up at the grill, drinking and playing pool. "Now this is more like it" Mason yelled out in excitement. About that time Klaus spotted Maddox across the restaurant. "I'll be right back mate" Klaus said to Mason as he grabbed his shoulder.

"Maddox, where have you been? You've been missing out" Klaus said sloppy because he had caught a buzz. "I had to do a locator spell to find you" Maddox replied. "Well I've been here and I have a really wild story to tell you mate." Klaus explained.
