The next day Klaus spent most of the day going over everything with Maddox. Explaining to him how his brother had sent him back in time subconsciously with this ancient stone. How he had broke his curse and created his hybrids.

"Then I found my very first hybrid trying to break his sire bond. I can't let that happen again" Klaus mentioned. He continued to explain to him how he had got off on the wrong foot with this young baby vampire, Caroline, that he was very fond of. So he was trying to fix that as well.

"So I was killed by a human boy, Matt" Maddox asked trying to figure away to prevent that from happening again. "Yes, but don't worry about all that. We're not gonna let happen. I need you on my side." Klaus reassured him.

By the time Klaus got through explaining everything and filling Maddox in on all the details, the day had already turned to nightfall. Klaus wanted to go see what Caroline was up to. Making his way to her house, he heard her and Matt talking on the porch.

"I miss you" Matt had confessed to her. Caroline didn't know what to say. On one hand she was flattered but on the other hand she had just met Nik. A vampire who was interesting and hot. Who she could actually talk to and be honest with. But she still had feelings for Matt. She was conflicted.

Caroline just smiled with her head down, flattered about his confession. "Matt...I don't know what to say." She wanted to at least tell him that she had met someone else. But she couldn't because she had been compelled. Matt told her that she didn't have to say anything because he understood. Klaus just left them two alone and went back to the apartment. He started to feel his jealousy approaching and didn't want to make himself look like a fool. "Great. Now I have to sit back and watch this play out." He said to himself. Klaus decided to give Caroline some space for the night and help Maddox get settled. Maddox had got the apartment right next to his.

The next day Klaus was going to show Maddox where Katherine was prisoned in the tomb. But they quickly realized somehow Stefan had ended up in there with her. So they couldn't get too close. They decided to go to the grill and see if they could figure out what else was going on in town. Apparently, Mason had been declared a missing person that morning. Some mysterious blonde lady showed up and said that he hadn't came back to Florida yet. Klaus knew exactly who that lady was. "Jules" he said to Maddox. "She will be the werewolf in the sacrifice" he added in.

Klaus suddenly spotted Caroline sit down at a table. He didn't know if he should approach her or not. "She could be here for Matt, the human fella who works here" he thought to himself. It didn't matter anyways because she had suddenly got a phone call. It was Elena telling her that Bonnie and Damon had trapped her in her own house. "I'm on my way" Caroline said as she got up to leave. Klaus just sighed and took a sip of his drink.

An hour had passed and Klaus had notice Jules walked into the grill. He had also notice Damon and Alaric nearby watching her as well. But Maddox had spelled him to where nobody could sense his vampire vibes. "That's her" Klaus said quietly to Maddox. They just sat by quietly and observed Damon and Alaric making a fool of themselves.

"It's a full moon tonight" Maddox mentioned to Klaus. They both just looked at each other and laughed at Damon trying to make Jules drink wolfsbane. "I kind of feel sorry for them" Klaus replied. "Poor lad, is so unaware" he added.

Klaus really wanted to grab Jules now to keep her safe until the sacrifice but knew he couldn't do that.

"You fool" Jules said after she slammed her drink down. Klaus and Maddox started smiling. "Finally, it took them long enough" Klaus chuckled. He knew Jules had to run off to turn into a wolf and decided to let her be free.

On his way back to the apartment he decided to go pass Caroline's house to make sure she was safe. Since Jules was running free and he wasn't a hybrid yet. If she was to get bitten, he wouldnt be able to save her. He seen her getting out of her car and heading her way inside. "Caroline" he yelled out.

"Nik" she said startled. "What are you doing out here?" She asked him. "Legends say, a werewolf bite can kill a vampire. And it is a Full moon" She added as she was getting closer to her door.

"I know, love. I just had to come make sure you was safe." He answered. "Well I'm safe now but if you was to ask me that earlier, I wouldn't be too sure" she blurted out as she thought about the day that she has had.

"What do you mean?" Klaus asked concerned. "Nothing, it's no biggie" she replied. She didn't want to make him worry. "No, really, you can tell me" he said pressing her for the answer. She started to explain how She went to hang out with her friend who was "grounded", she didn't really want to go into detail of how Bonnie placed a spell on a Elena so she just left it at "grounded". And was visited by one of the old creepy vampires.

"He wanted to make a confusing deal with her, it's weird! He told her to do nothing and just live her life. And that he would protect all of us" she explained. Klaus knew she was talking about Elijah. "And to top it all off, he said that he was going to kill Klaus. Which I've heard was impossible! I don't really know what his end game is. Or if we can even trust him" she added in. Klaus hugged her trying to comfort her. "I'm still shaking" she whispered in his ear. "Everything is going to be okay, love" he whispered back in her ear.

Caroline finally calmed down and said "Easy for you to say, you just come and go, whenever you want". As she crossed her arms. Klaus knew she was referring to not seeing her the day before or most of today. "Well I didn't want to interfere with your other "human" friend." klaus replied with a smirk.

"Matt?" Caroline asked confused "That's nobody, I mean he was somebody a while back before I turned. But now I'm not so sure. He doesn't even know what I am. He still has feelings for me and I'm still his friend. I'm trying to let him down easy." she explained. The two laughed at each other having a moment when suddenly they heard a wolf howl in the distance. They both looked in the direction as it broke the moment. "Well let's get you inside where it's safe." Klaus said as he opened the door for Caroline. Although he couldn't go inside, he didn't want to risk Jules coming from out of nowhere and biting her. "Are u going to be okay?" She asked as she was going in. "Don't worry about me love. I'm a special kind of vampire remember" klaus reminded her.

Klaus made sure she was safe in her house before he left her street. He noticed she had turned off her lamp in her room so he started making his way back the apartment. "Elijah is in town" he told Maddox and Mason. "It won't be long now". He added in. Klaus was kind of dreading the fact that he was going to have to get in Alarics body again, but he knew it was necessary for the sacrifice. Because if Bonnie doesn't fake her death, of being exhausted from trying to kill him, who knows what could happen. He needed to keep everything the same as it happened in his present. He was also dreading the day when Caroline finds out who he really is. But hopefully he had already made a good impression on her and she would be okay with it.
