OH MY GOD IT'S BEEN SO LONG!?
THAT WAS AN ACCIDENT!
Okay, so, as select few of my followers know, I've been having a huge writer's block with this story. It's sucky and I want to post more often. I think I'll write a Christmas fic after I finish this chapter just to double time the production of what you guys believe is the greatest thing ever.
I'm so sorry for the long wait, and my writing skills are a bit rusty! SORRY!
Sasuke had never been inside of Hinata's home before, and it was quite comfortable. He entered before her and she closed the door behind her, she then went ahead and turned on all of the lights to bring the house to a comfortable light level.
"Very nice place," Sasuke said, feeling somewhat out of his element trying to be talkative, but attempting anyways. Hinata looked at him softly, and giggled slightly.
"Thank you, Sasuke-kun," Hinata said kindly. "I do enjoy the house, but it seems a bit big for just me." Sasuke nodded and looked about the bit of the house he could see. The small hallway he had come from led to the front door and in front of him was a big room. On the left side of the room there was a kitchen area and on the right seemed to be the living room, complete with couch and small table.
Hinata put her arms behind her head and yawned extensively, complete with a small squeak that she gasped and covered her mouth about. Sasuke looked at her stoically before blinking and smiling, slightly, at the floor.
"So, I'm to sleep on the couch?" Sasuke asked softly. Hinata looked at him, and then to the couch, before nodding her head.
"Yes, if you'd like." Hinata said, more than asked, as she walked down the hall across the room from the front door. She entered her room and Sasuke stood in the main room awkwardly, waiting for her to return. After a few moments she emerged and Sasuke took the blanket and pillow she handed him gratefully.
Sasuke looked at her and smiled slightly, feeling awkward. His social interaction hadn't been extensive since he'd rejoined the village, as most of the villagers hated him and Naruto was his only friend. Hinata didn't mind his bashfulness, she understood what it was like to be bashful and nervous as well.
"I'm going to go to bed now, okay Sasuke-kun?" Hinata asked, looking at Sasuke questioningly. Sasuke nodded, and Hinata left the room to her own bedroom. As Sasuke heard the door close behind her he set up his own bed on the couch and layed down. His heart wrestled with the feelings he was experiencing. This girl, who's village he had tried to destroy, was treating him with a kind of kindness and respect he wouldn't expect. He continued to ponder, as his consciousness slipped away.
He woke up, a time later, with a shock and instinctively drew his sword and swung. When his vision focused he noticed the blade of his sword pressed onto Hinata's neck. Not cutting her, not harming her in any way, but if he had swung a bit faster or farther he would have killed her. The look in her eyes wasn't one of shock or even fear though, but of worry.
"Are you okay? I heard you scream from my bedroom so I came to check on you." She asked him, placing the back of her hand on his forehead. He clenched his jaw and swallowed heavily, withdrawing his sword.
"Didn't anyone ever tell you it's dangerous to wake someone from a nightmare?" He asked, going to run a hand through his hair but realizing her hand was still there. He lowered his hands, staring up at her as she moved her hand from his forehead until she caressed his chin gently.
"I'm sorry, but I just couldn't watch you suffer like that..." She replied quietly, frowning lightly. Sasuke was stunned, he couldn't think of words to say to respond to her statement. "My mother, when I was very young, used to have me lay with her when I was having nightmares." She said, remembering fond memories.
Sasuke remembered similar things with his mother, she'd always lay with him when he'd have nightmares. Sure, it wasn't exactly the strongest or the ninja way, but it had always helped him feel better. "If you'd like to come lay with me," Hinata continued, reaching her hand out to him. He gasped, his eyes widening for a second as he stared at her.
He reached up and took her hand. She gently pulled him to his feet and, without letting go of his hand, led him to her bedroom. It was fairly large, with a queen sized bed in the center against the wall, neatly organized and hardly decorated. She brought him over to the bed, and gestured to it. "Get comfortable," she said, waiting for him to lay down.
He hesitated for a second, before finding his way into a comfortable spot on her bed. When he stopped moving she crawled onto the bed and nestled herself comfortably into his arms, he tensed up for a second, but after a few seconds he got comfortable and wrapped his arms tightly around her, resting his head near hers.
"Good night, Sasuke-kun." She said quietly, as she drifted off.
"Good night." He responded, resting at last.
Sasuke opened his eyes slowly and leisurely. The first thing he noticed is that he'd slept well last night, not a single bad dream. The next thing was that there was someone missing from the room, andm ore specifically, from his arms. He could hear Hinata humming as she came out of one of the rooms in the hall. He watched the doorway of the room as Hinata walked in with only a towel wrapped around her. Sasuke gasped and closed his eyes, not feeling comfortable with the situation.
Hinata heard his gasp and peered at him, seeing his eyes were closed she assumed he was asleep but grabbed herself some clothes and left the room anyways to get dressed. Sasuke continued to lay in the bed, he was content to just lay there for a while. Maybe Hinata would come back and lay with him...
No, he should get up. He pulled himself to his feet out of the bed, stretching and yawning lightly. He walked out of the room, looking down the hallway to see where Hinata had gone. He began to walk down the hallway when Hinata came out of what was obviously the bathroom, and almost ran into him.
They both stopped, inches away from each other, Sasuke could smell the soap she had used to wash herself. Her scent intoxicating him, they both stood there silently, mesmerized by each others presence. Sasuke couldn't explain why he did what he did next. In the spur of the moment, Sasuke brought his hand up to Hinata's chin and pulled her lips to his.
The kiss was short and sweet, and Hinata responded immediately. It was gentle, from both parties accounts, and though short in reality, seemed to last a lifetime to them. They separated, their faces still only an inch apart, and continued to stare into each others eyes. They didn't know what to do, they weren't sure where to go from there.
AND NEITHER DO I!
