Sasuke stood where he was for a minute, still processing exactly what it was he had just done. Hinata had a blush on her face about the same shade as a rose in full blossom, her hands hanging delicately at her sides as she inspected Sasuke's strong jawline and facial features. He stepped back, his hands jumping behind his back as he stood nervously. "I'm sorry, I I don't know what came over me." He said, an uncharacteristic stutter in his voice. Hinata watched him intently for a second before giggling gently, her blush becoming several shades deeper. Sasuke looked at her with a bit of shock and a hint of insecurity. "What are you laughing at? Is there something wrong? Again I'm sorry," he said, looking at the floor, trying not to get angry at the situation.

"I'm laughing at you apologizing as if I didn't want you to kiss me," Hinata responded, pushing through the nervous stutter and shyness she normally had. Her blush got deeper again, and if Sasuke didn't know any better he'd think she was ill. "I've been... Interested... In you for a while..." She muttered. Sasuke watched her, dumbfounded. He'd never really let himself become interested in a girl because he'd always had something "better" to do. Kill his brother, end The Leaf, become Hokage. But now that all he had to worry about was his life in the village, this woman had become an interest to him. Something he knew nothing about.

"Forgive me for being, dense, but what do I do now? I've looked into how courting works a few times, but those books and research pieces never went into how it worked for someone you already knew and had kissed... Does it work similarly? Or do I have to follow a whole new set of regulations?" He said, going over the things he had seen in his head. Hinata's head hung a little bit, watching him ask, himself mostly, questions that most people knew as common knowledge.

"Why don't we just start with what you want, from this." She responded, gesturing to him and herself. "If you know what you want, the rest comes easily. To most people, that is." She explained, stepping closer to him. "Before that, let's just start with what you feel. I feel c-care, and closeness..." She said, trying not to sound like she was obsessed about him like she had been for Naruto, because she had learned quite a bit since then.

Sasuke, still trying to sort things out within his head, watched her as she talked and let out the breath he had held in unintentionally. "I feel... Content. I feel happy. I feel like I want you to be happy. I feel protective, and scared?" He said, lowering his shoulders as he relaxed a little, as though with saying those words he'd released a weight from his shoulders. Almost like the sound of Lee's ankle weights could be heard in the distance.

Hinata smiled at him, taking another step toward him. "Those are all good feelings, fear generally is more worry, you're probably worried about how this all works, or if it'll work at all but..." She started, stepping closer again and putting her hand on his cheek. "I have a feeling it'll work out well.." Sasuke felt his skin burn as she touched him, his breathing becoming heavier as he looked at her.

He lifted his hand, putting it on her hip gently. He'd thought about things like this several times, not sure exactly if it worked out the way he thought. He pulled her by the hip closer to him, her body almost pressed to his, and lowered his face to hers again. This time she lifted her lips to meet his, kissing him as he kissed her. She moved her arms to wrap them around his neck as he moved his other hand to grab her other hip. She pressed herself to him, deepening the kiss and wrapping her arms tighter around his neck. The kiss lasted a bit longer than the previous, lasting almost a whole minute as they stood in her hallway. When he finally pulled away from her he looked at her with a whole new look. Admiration and care twinkled in his eyes as the looked at her, and hers reflected them almost perfectly.

Sasuke stepped away, remembering he had been looking for Naruto the day previous and was going to do that again today, as well as tell him about the new development between himself and Hinata. "I'm sorry Hinata, but I have to go... If it's okay with you, I'd very much like to come back here again tonight." He said, trying his best to summon a smile that was convincing. She smiled at him and nodded.

"I'd love to have you back here. Would you like me to prepare a dinner plate for you as well?" She asked, looking to the kitchen. Sasuke looked in that direction as well and smiled easily.

"Thank you, that'd be wonderful." He said quietly, before walking past her and toward the door. She followed him, passing him to open the door for him. "Thank you." He said, turning to look at her. He paused for a minute, before letting his better judgment leave him and leaning in to kiss her again gently before jumping away quickly. Hinata closed the door behind him and sighed, leaning against it and sliding to the ground.

"The clan will never accept this..." She muttered, letting her head fall into her hands.

Naruto had stayed at his house for the majority of the previous day and night, thinking Sasuke would come back to talk to him eventually. He was eating some ramen, a meal that he still ate frequently, when he heard his window open. He threw a kunai at the "intruder" without even looking in that direction.

"Nice try Dobe," a familiar voice said, the sound of metal hitting metal resounding at the same time. Naruto chuckled, before appearing behind Sasuke outside of the window, kicking Sasuke into the room.

"Not as nice as that though. It's almost like you weren't even watching!" Naruto laughed, before reappearing in the room, across from his bed and Sasuke. Sasuke chuckled, shaking his head as he dusted himself off. Naruto tilted his head in surprise, Sasuke seemed... happy?

"I've got some stuff to talk to you about, Naruto." He said, looking at him seriously. Naruto nodded and sat back down at his table behind his bowl. Sasuke went around and sat at the table, across from him. "There are far too many memories, for me to stay at the compound would be hell to say the least."

"I expected as much, considering how much happened there, and to you in general." Naruto responded, before slurping up several more noodles. "However, considering what you just went through, you seem very happy. Something happen?" He asked.

Sasuke smiled again and Naruto got very confused. "Yes, something happened. I do have somewhere to stay, at the very least for another night." Sasuke replied, crossing his arms, "In the home of a young Hyuuga." He finished, causing Naruto to choke on his noodles a bit.

"You stayed at Neji's house! Man that's messed up!" Naruto exclaimed idiotically. Sasuke shook his head, sighing heavily.

"Yes, that would be messed up if that was what I did. I do have respect for the dead you know. No, I stayed with Hinata." He explained, putting his eyes in his hand in disappointment. "And to think, she once liked you."

"Ohhhhhhhh! That makes a whole lot more sense! Wait, are you two like... A thing?" Naruto asked, skimming right over his final comment about her. Sasuke looked at the table in thought, before shrugging his shoulders and nodding a bit.

"I don't know much about it all, so I was wondering if you'd give me some tips because apparently you have something going for you." Sasuke said, his voice overflowing with distaste. Naruto laughed heartily, before leaning forward.

"Alright Sasuke, I'll tell you everything I know!"

start writing daily, and posting at least every other week but hopefully at least once a
