Rabbits Die From Loneliness Chapter 3
First and foremost seeing some notification on response to this work has inspired me to attempt to continue the work. Sorry to those whom have been waiting for more chapters to be written. With this being said my usual disclaimer I in no way own Tokyo Ghoul nor the characters all credit goes to Ishida.
The aroma of freshly ground coffee beans filled the atmosphere of the small cafe uplifting the mood of the dreary morning. Yoshimura stood behind the counter with Kaneki tutoring him in the Anteiku ways of brewing coffee.
"Now with a slow and steady hand pour the hot water onto the filter Kaneki-kun" the old man replied, while showing the raven boy the way to do it with that trademark smile on his face, and handing him the cup to taste. A smile crossed the raven's face as he took the cup in hand taking a sip of the elderman's masterfully brewed coffee, and thankful for the one thing he could still enjoy from his previous life.
"Yes sir", he responded trying to replicate the old man's motions to the best of his ability. The taking his completed work to sample, and compare only to be greeted with a strong bitter flavor drying out his mouth.
Suddenly the bell at the front door of echoed through the interior of the cafe with a silhouette of a person stepping through the door.
" Yo kanekers,"blurted an exuberant Hide waving towards his companion, and taking his usual spot in front of a working Kaneki.
He then turned towards Touka's direction whom was tending to a table in the back " Hey Touka-chan are you ready to fall for my dashing charm today" the blonde shouted to her and giving finger guns with a big grin on his face toward the dark short hair girls direction. She glanced around the cafe double checking it as empty as it was a slow day.
"Noisy customer-sama you better order something before decide to feast on your innards this is a business not a hangout" she retorted back cause the blonde to burst in a fit of laughter.
"So you like it youma style from claymore I see. Kinky!" Hide responded between his laughter. Touka was about to retort back to this, but was interjected by Kaneki.
" I would not do that Touka-chan Hide might give you indigestion, and she is right Hide you should order something." the raven said with a smug look on his rarely not being the butt of his best friend's jokes, but this time the tables were turned. Hide turned around caught by surprise of his long time friend's remark, but then grabbing his friend from across the counter with his arm around his neck in a hugging embrace.
"Oh Kanekers your suppose to be on to be on my side" he responded with a face pretending to be hurt then continuing " Although I understand the sentiment of your jealousy by losing this grade "A" steak diner. Also I will take a coffee made by my bestest buddy ever please" all the while wearing a huge grin on his face as he turned the tables back onto the raven. This flustered Kaneki who was in the process of making Hide's coffee.
He sat the cup in front of HIde then said " Don't joke like that I could never eat you" reject the thought of the possibility, and the memory of when it almost happened when Nishiki attacked them both causing Kaneki mood to go down.
Hide took a sip of the coffee in front of him "Man Kaneki you have really improved this tastes great!" the bonde exclaimed as he laid the empty cup on the counter. Freeing the raven from his sulking and causing him to blush a was on her way into back parting with a simple " You two need to get a room. I think i'm going to be sick" then the door closed behind her.
Kaneki then exclaimed " Hide are you crazy where do get the confidence to talk to Touka-chan like that. She will totally kill both of us" giving his friend a concerned look.
"Kaneki my good ol buddy confidence is not gained, it is who you are" Hide claimed as he struck what he thought to be a cool pose. Cause the raven to laugh at his friends childish antics ,and a smile to creep on his face.
" There we go you finally smiled kanekers buddy ol pal it has been forever since I last seen that!" Hide was saying while jumping for joy at his friends first sincere smile since the Rize incident. Suddenly Touka peaked from the back wearing a menacing look.
"What was that you two were saying about me don't think I didn't hear you both back there" she said while looking ready murder the two boys and dispose of their bodies.
"Oh nothing we promise Touka-chan" the two said in unison backing away from Touka as far as the could. Then suddenly the bell in the front wrong with a tall figure standing within the entrance.

Forgive me as I am uploading this without editing and only spent an hour writing this chapter. But I truly do hope you all enjoy this and I will try to see what I can do about uploading more and turning this into a more concrete FF with direction and character development.
