Hello everyone! Sorry for the wait, but I've just been stuck. I hope this short chapter will tide you over until the next chapter.

It was getting late and Emily wanted to go to bed.

"Alright, Nick. I'm going up." Emily stood up, trying to move past her brother on the couch.

"I'm going, too." Nick stood.

Emily sighed and made her ways to the stairs. She took a couple of steps and then her legs froze up and she stumbled forward, using the wall right by the stairs to stop herself from falling.

"Emily!" Nick rushed to her side. "What's wrong?" He asked, concerned.

"My leg." Emily huffed. She turned and leaned back on the wall. She pulled her sweatpants off and dropped them on the floor, standing in her spandex.

Emily poked the stab wound with a finger. "Yeah, I shoulda fixed that." Emily chuckled.

Nick rolled his eyes. "For a second there I thought you were in danger."

"I am in danger, Nick!" Emily held on to Nick's shoulders. "I need to get up the stairs and I only have one leg!" Emily half-joked, half-spoke seriously.

"Well, I ain't carrying you. You have two arms." Nick replied.

"What? So?" Emily let go of Nick.

"Three-point climbing." Nick explained.

Emily glared at him.

Nick shrugged and started climbing the stairs.

"Oh, get back here, you!" Emily threatened. She spun and held onto the banisters with both hands. She propelled herself up and forward with her two arms and leg. She paused and playfully kicked Nick in the leg.

"Hey, watch it, sister." Nick joked.

Nick got to the top of the stairs. Emily came behind him moments later and hopped onto his back.

"Onward, my trusty stead!" Emily commanded, pointing a finger.

Nick groaned and gave Emily a piggyback ride to her room. He sat her down in a rolling chair in her office, which was connected to her bedroom.

Emily snapped off her leg and put it on her desk. "Can you grab that?" She asked, pointing to a tool box.

"Anything else, princess?" Nick asked, handing Emily the tool box.

"Um…" Emily started to think.

"I was joking!" Nick threw his hands up.

"Just go to sleep." Emily waved him away.

"Goodnight, Emily." Nick ruffled her hair.

Emily elbowed Nick in the stomach. "Goodnight."

Nick sucked in a breath. He was about to say something, but stopped himself and left Emily's room.

Emily got to work on her leg and within a half hour, she had fixed it and put a new layer of skin on it. She plugged all her synthetics into charge in her closet.

She pushed on the wall with her one hand and the rolling chair propelled itself towards Emily's bed.

Emily hauled herself into bed and fell asleep within moments.

"Rise and shine, gorgeous!" Nick walked into Emily's room and threw open her curtains, letting the light in.

Emily groaned through her blankets and pillows.

"Come on!" Nick brought her arm over as Emily sat up. Nick snapped it into place. Emily rubbed her eyes. Nick brought over Emily's legs and handed one to her. After getting her legs on, Emily stood up.

"I'm taking a shower." She announced.

"Yeah, you smell." Nick remarked.

"Hey!" Emily yelled, throwing a pillow at her brother.

Nick batted the pillow away. "I'm going into work early. Will you be alright?"

"Yes." Emily left the room, a little annoyed.

"Just checking." Nick peeked his head into the bathroom, where Emily had turned the water on.

"Bye, Em." He waited for a reply.

"Bye, Nick." Emily replied.

Nick left the house.

Emily stepped into the hot water of the shower. She washed yesterday off of her, scrubbing any remaining fake blood off of her.

After getting out of the shower and drying her hair, Emily got dressed. She ate breakfast and drank coffee.

Then, she remembered something extremely important.

"House, call Maldonado." Emily ordered.

"Dialing." The house responded.

"Captain Maldonado." Maldonado answered her phone.

"It's Officer Clark." Emily informed her.

"Emily." Maldonado cheered up. "What can I do for you?" She offered.

"I was hoping Dorian could be transferred to my custody for after hours." Emily asked.

"Oh?" Maldonado was a little shocked at the proposal.

"It's just that he doesn't like being the only DRN with all the MX's." Emily explained.

Maldonado smiled on her end. "I'll get right on it. I'll send his charging station to your house today, if that's alright."

"The sooner, the better." Emily replied.

"Excellent." Maldonado answered.

"Thank you, for this." Emily meant it.

"Anything you need. Remember that." Maldonado informed.

"Of course." Emily hung up.

Then, Emily heard a car horn. She grabbed her house keys, even though she didn't need to lock up, and rushed out of the house.

John was waiting in the car, alone.

"Hey." Emily smiled as she got in the car.

"Hey." John replied.

Emily leaned forward and gave John a quick, but soft kiss on the lips. "Sleep well?" She asked.

"Yeah. You?" He asked.

"More or less." Emily shrugged, buckling her seat belt.

John drove to the precinct.
