Robin had stared down many horrors in his few months of known life. His first night since waking up in that field had seen the first appearance of the ghastly Risen, undead monsters that seemed to live only to kill humans. He had faced Plegian soldiers intent on wetting their blades with his blood, Plegian mages who only cackled in glee at the thought of ripping his skin from his bones. He had even braved that night none wished to remember when somehow both Sully and Lissa were put in charge of cooking.

But never before had he known fear such as what he was experiencing as his wife Maribelle looked down upon him.

The day had started innocently enough. He'd woken up, done some training, done some planning, was actually able to eat breakfast in peace for once. Than as he was making his way back to his and Maribelle's tent he'd noticed something odd in the bushes nearby. Investigating the disturbance, he was shocked to discover his friend and comrade Vaike crouching and hiding in the bushes. Upon further examination, he saw that the blonde fighter was peeking at the woman's bathing tent. Trying to be a moral and upstanding gentleman, Robin tried to stop Vaike, only for another creature to discover the two of them.

Sully's horse.

The demonic creature chased the two of them all around camp, causing quite the commotion and destroying a few tables and supplies (Thankfully nothing vital) before leading them back to the woman's tent where Sully was somehow able to calm the beast down. Of course, Sully had asked WHY Vaike and Robin had been chased around by her horse, and before Robin could defend himself Vaike did the absolute worst thing he could have done.

Opened his mouth.

He tried to sell a story that he and Robin (Robin had tried to deny his involvement but Sully's horse snorted very threateningly) had simply been "picking flowers" in the bushes near the woman's bathing tent only to be chased off by Sully's horse. That story had gone over about as well as one of Virion's flirts, and pretty soon all of the woman were livid at the two for attempting to peek at them. Vaike had been dragged off to suffer Naga knew what fate the woman would cook up for him, but Robin was treated far more cruelly.

They gave him over to his wife.

Once she had heard of his accused deed, Robin could feel the lowered temperature of the air around her, and her glare was more than enough to silence the poor tactician from any attempted defense. Once she had apologized for his "inappropriate actions", she gripped him by his ear and dragged him back to their tent, bringing him in and instructing him to sit on the ground in front of his chair. Once he had followed her commands, she had positioned herself in his chair so that she could look down on him, no doubt deciding his fate in her head.

Robin fidgeted under her stare, wanting to proclaim his innocence but rather scared of what she would to if he tried. Maribelle was in no way abusive or cruel, and the two generally shared a very happy and very loving relationship. But, even if it was a complete misunderstanding, Robin couldn't deny just how horrible this situation must have seemed, being accused of attempting to peek on woman bathing. Putting aside the fact that this was his WIFE, this was also MARIBELLE. Even before the two were married Maribelle had made sure Robin knew of the standards he should live by due to his position. The worst part about this whole situation though was wondering what Maribelle must have thought about him. Robin loved her with all his heart, and the idea she'd think any less of him was worse than any punishment she could give out. He only hoped she'd give him the chance to defend himself.

The sound of Maribelle clearing her throat drew his attention back to her as she looked at him. After a moment, she said words he had not expected to hear.

"You're innocent in all of this aren't you?" She asked.

Robin blinked in shock, only able to give a shaky nod in reply.

Maribelle smiled, sitting back slightly. "Well of course you are. There is no reason why a man of your intellect would ever stoop so low to engage in such an activity."

"You...you mean you actually don't believe I was attempting to peek on the woman's bathing tent?" Robin asked.

"My dear, as I said, there is no reason a man of your intellect would ever do something so baseless." Maribelle said as she reached down and playfully messed with his hair. "Besides, you are my husband. I trust you."

Robin blinked before smiling. "Thanks Maribelle. Though, I do have ONE question."

Maribelle raised an eyebrow. "Oh, and what is that?"

Robin gently rubbed his aching ear. "If you didn't believe me guilty, why drag me so painfully by the ear?"

Maribelle gave a knowing, playful smirk. "Consider it playing to appearances. Besides, unlike that brute Vaike, I'm sure none of the other woman believe you complicit either. I shall tell them that this was all a misunderstanding later, and that I gave you a stern lecture on making sure to avoid the appearance of any evil."

Robin sighed, finally able to relax. "Thanks Maribelle. And for what it's worth it, I am sorry about this whole situation."

"Think nothing of it dear." Maribelle stated. "Just look at it as a lesson of what I just mentioned. Always be careful so as to avoid a situation that could cause others to doubt your character."

Robin nodded, picking himself up. "Yes well, I shall certainly do my best. Just...thanks for trusting me Maribelle. It means a lot."

Maribelle smiled, standing up and kissing Robin's cheek. "You are my love Robin. No matter what, I will always trust you."

Robin smiled, holding Maribelle in his arms as he enjoyed the feeling of knowing that no matter what happened, he would always have one person who believed in him.
