Author's Plea:
Originally for the LJ community 7spells, though I had to drop my claim after I could get no more than these two drabbles from my muse. This one is for the theme ribbon. And that's really all I could manage. Maybe later I'll finish it… maybe. For now, please consider this series complete.

A Subtle Step

Subtlety is the game she plays because she feels it will be the one most successful. After all, while it is common belief that Weasley men are all loud and a bit opportunistic, she knows her target is more staid than anything. He will not respond well to a quick seduction, or rather he will not respond well after a quick seduction; she wants to make sure he knows exactly what he is getting into as she takes him deeper into temptation. She wants to make sure he will never turn back.

When Gabrielle ties her hair each morning, she does so with a wide blue ribbon that almost exactly matches the color of her eyes. Such a match is not coincidence. The logical and usual reaction to this technique is to catch the eye and tempt oh so gently at possibilities. That it pushes her femininity to the forefront is a wonderful bonus.

She catches Ron staring at the ribbon often and wonders what thoughts are in his mind. Does he picture touching the ribbon softly, slowly untying it until he can run his coarse hand through her hair without interruption? Does he visualize other, more tantalizing uses for the ribbon? She watches and wonders and hopes he will not take so much longer to show the interest she knows he has.

It is a cold Saturday when she finally knows they have reached the next stage in her plan. She enters her borrowed bedroom to find Ron at her dresser examining the ribbon with such care that her breath is caught. He notices and almost drops it. That he doesn't speaks wonders.
