She sighed as she stuffed her clothes in her locker. What a day this has turned out to be. All she had to do is to talk to the man about his whereabouts and she snapped at the man.
It didn't help that Mac was in the questioning room when she did this. Even though she snapped at the man, she didn't think that she should have been sent home for the night. She still had at least 4 more hours to go.
One the way to the front of the building, she was stopped by Hawkes and Stella. They asked her how she felt and she bluntly replied that she was fine. The shocked look on their faces told it all. They stood there as Lindsay exited the front doors and hailed a cab to her apartment.
Danny was finishing the last of his files when Stella and Hawkes walked by. He didn't mean to eavesdrop but all heard was "Lindsay" and "snapped".
Stella and Hawkes must be wrong, Danny thought as he put the last file in the file cabinet. As much as he liked Stella and Hawkes and thought of them as family, he didn't like that they were talking about her behind her back. She's his girl.
He headed to the locker room and gathered his things. While he stood behind the open locker door, he heard a group of detectives come into the locker room and he overheard more.
"Can you believe it? She snapped at the suspect in front of Det. Taylor. She wasn't questioning the suspect, she humiliated the suspect. Det. Taylor thought she went too far and sent her home."
"Who does she think she is? Just because she came from Montana doesn't mean that she can walk over suspects. That makes us look bad."
After the guys left, Danny shut the locker door. He had to find out from Lindsay before the department starts to really talk.
