A/N:

-This is one I've been mulling over a bit for the past couple of days after a massive two month block. It is another based upon Hiei, but it is unrelated to the last. Instead, it chronicles his vain attempt to understand the human emotion that he scorns as nothing more but an inane façade. Enjoy.

Love

A lie to mask,

the human need.

To mate, to spread,

its evil seed.

It is a façade,

nothing more but that.

A falsity created,

to mask the fact.

Could it possibly be true,

that affection you feel?

That emotion that has you,

beg and kneel?

Say it is then believer,

which I guarantee is a lie.

That you emotion is genuine,

not a jest that will leave you crying "why?"

Then it is unrequited,

felt by you alone.

It is unreturned,

down to the core, the bone.

You are the only one,

to feel that way.

You are the only one,

so will you make them pay?

Will you fill them with spite,

will you make them mourn?

Will you make them desperate,

will you make them forlorn?

See what has come,

from that emotion you craved?

Nothing more but hatred,

hatred you made.

So what is that feeling,

that fondness from above?

It is a vicious lie,

a lie called Love.

A/N:

-I enjoyed this chapter, because, as I said, I found it ammusing for Hiei to comprehend love, or at least romantic love. Regardless, I enjoyed writing it, and I hope you enjoyed reading it. You see the review button, and I clearly see you through your screen, so please review.

-In the off chance you couldn't tell, I can't really see you through your screen. I do, however, have my handy hits list and know how many users read the chapter, so please review.
