Disclaimer: I don't own Gundam Wing...if I did, Duo and Quatre would have confessed their feelings for one another early on in the series...but they didn't, did they now?

Across the Gulf of Space…
Duo stared absentmindedly into the vast expanse that was Space. He sighed into his hand and turned to cross his arms and pout at the darkness and the pinpricks of stars. He only stayed in that position for a moment, for he seemed to panic and immediately whip back around, braid swinging. After staring intently through the window and finding no trace of a Gundam, he huffed and plopped down on the chair beside the monitor where Hilde was watching the latest update from the Colonies. "Anything good?"
Hilde turned to smile at Duo, knowing why he was so down from his usual sarcastic routine. "Yeah, seems that the Winner family's contributions are really helping to rebuild." She smiled sadly, seeing the brief flash of pain the name had caused him. "You know, he's really busy, Duo. I'm sure he'll come visit as soon as he can." She gently patted his shoulder and got up to fix something to eat. Duo began to stare at the monitor, desperate for something to take his mind off of the pain building in his chest. Once he did, he realized it was a bad idea, because the next image on the screen was none other than the person that he wanted to see more than anything.
Quatre Winner's image smiled on the screen, standing in front of the newest addition to the colonies in Space. He was issuing a press statement from the colony members, proclaiming peaceful ideals for the new era and highlighting possibilities for colonizing Mars. In other words, he was talking of more outlandish plans that would draw him away for even longer periods of time.
Sighing in anger, Duo switched off the monitor before storming out to his yard to tinker on his new miniature versions of the old Gundams. While he had been waiting for Quatre to visit, he had figured out a way to create smaller figurines of the original five Gundams that had been sent to Earth. He had started in order, crafting Heero's Wing Gundam before skipping to Trowa's Heavyarms and then Wufei's Shenlong. He had waited on making his and Quatre's, wanting to have the technique down perfectly before attempting his favorite Gundams. Deathscythe had turned out wonderfully, with matching energy scythe and eyes that could glow with a switch in the back. Duo had smiled lovingly at his creation before setting it down to begin work on the last and most cherished Gundam, Sandrock.
Slamming the small shop door closed, he turned to his 85 completed model of Sandrock and threw it against the window, smashing it and the little Gundam to pieces. In a panic, he wrenched the door open and gingerly picked up the ruined figurine to cradle it in his arms. Realizing what he had just done, he began to mourn his actions over his figurine. The tears had just begun to spill when he heard footsteps coming from behind him.
Duo buried his head and held the little Sandrock, not caring who was behind him, at least not until the guest wrapped his arms around Duo's shoulders and kissed the top of his head lovingly, whispering, "What's wrong, Duo? Is something broken?"
The Sandrock figurine fell from his arms and lay forgotten on the lawn when Duo spun around, staring into Quatre's concerned and loving look. The tears continued to fall, but there was a smile on his lips. All of the questions he had built up over their separation were forgotten with a sweep of Quatre's lips over his, painfully sweet, undemanding, and loving. He held and let himself be held by Quatre as he whispered in return, "Not anymore, Quatre…not anymore."
