A/N: A lame attempt to get my muse back. Please R & R..

Summary: During The Becoming. What if Izzie heard what Bailey said about Mark being a whore to the nurses? And what if instead it wasn't Derek on the elevator, but Izzie? McStizzie-ish. ONESHOT

--

Mark put his hands in his jacket pockets as he waited for the elevator. As it opened, he walked to it and stepped into it. Seeing Izzie, he gave her a nod. "Stevens."

Izzie glanced at him as the elevator doors closed. "Dr. Sloan."

Mark stood next to her, facing the elevator doors.

"I heard what Bailey said about you." Izzie told him after a brief moment of silence.

Mark glanced at her. "And what? You agree?"

"I can't say I don't." Izzie said honestly.

Mark rolled his eyes and looked down at the ground.

"But I feel bad for you." Izzie said turning her head to face him.

Mark looked at her and raised an eyebrow. "Why is it?"

"I thought you were aware of your reputation." Izzie said to him.

"I am." Mark told her.

"But you were looked hurt when Bailey said those things about you." Izzie told him.

Mark didn't think anyone would actually pay attention, because he was, but he didn't want to show it. "No, I didn't.

Izzie nodded in disagreement. "Yes you did. Why though? You know about your reputation, so why are you so hurt she said those things?"

Mark shrugged. "I'm not."

Izzie rolled her eyes. "I already made it clear that I don't believe you, so just say why?"

"You want to know why?" Mark watched her nod. He turned to face her completely. "Because it's Bailey, the woman everyone respects, said I was a whore."

Izzie just looked at him. "But you've heard people say that straight to your face before."

"But it's Bailey." Mark repeated. "Think about it, what if Bailey said you were a whore to half the staff here at Seattle Grace?"

"She wouldn't." Izzie said.

Mark rolled his eyes once again. "That's not my point."

Izzie gave him a small smile. "I know, and I don't think that should let you down, even if it is Bailey. Go be the manwhore you are."

"What if I don't want to be like that anymore?" Mark asked honestly and in thought about it.

Izzie smiled at him. "Then good for you."

They both looked at the elevator doors as they opened.

"That's my floor. Have a nice night Dr. Sloan." Izzie said walking out of the elevator.

"You too." Mark said watching her walk out. He definitely had something's to think about tonight.
