PRINCESS REDIFINED
CHAPTER 1 MEET THE PRINCESS
Yeah, this isn't as stupid as it sounds, okay? Give it a chance.
"Naruto, Kiba, Shikamaru," Tsunade said authoritatively. "there's a new mission for you. It's extremely crucial, so don't mess up!"
"Alright!" Naruto jumped with glee.
"What's our mission?" Kiba asked. Akamaru barked by his side. Shikamaru merely stood in place, looking bored as usual.
Tsunade smirked, wanting to see their expressions when they found out. Their mission was one that many men in the past would have done almost anything for. "You mission is to retrieve the princess of Konoha, she is turning fifteen in just two months and needs to be prepared for her duties."
"Awesome!" Both Kiba and Naruto yelled, brimming with excitement and obviously stuck on the old 'Knight Saves Princess' stories.
Shikamaru simply asked, "Why does Konoha need a princess? We already have the Hokage to lead the village. Plus, I haven't heard of any ninja village having a princess in fifty years."
"You are aware of the instability of relationships with other villages currently, correct?" The three shinobi nodded. "Well, a princess is sort of a peace offering to another village. She is married to the leader of another village to secure bonds. That's why we haven't needed one in so long, Konoha has been in a relatively good position as far as relations go."
"Where is she?" Kiba asked.
"She was sent to Takigakure as a small child. Naruto, you may be familiar with the place." Tsunade replied while Naruto huffed something along the lines of 'stupid land of sissys is more like it.' "In fact, Naruto, that's why you're coming on this mission, to guide Shikamaru and Kiba to Takigakure."
Naruto's jaw dropped. "What!? That' it!? No way! I'm a way better ninja than either of them, not just some guide!"
"Naruto!"
Mori ginned as she slung paint on the canvas. A satisfying splotch of red burst onto the painting of what was supposed to be a graceful dancer. The watercolors mixed on the wet canvas into a shocking swirl of color. Mori nodded, happy with her perfectly ruined painting.
Many in her village had tried to get her to stop destroying her paintings. However, Mori simply loved showing haw little she cared for beauty by painting a lovely portrait, then turning it into a mass of muddy color with one brush stroke. It had more meaning thay way. Instead of showing fake faces of the 'normal' world, they let one look into the inner workings of nature. The colors she chose always reflected the hidden emotions of the one depicted in her work.
"Mori! Again? You got paint all over my dress!" Onnarashi shrieked, furiously wiping the red paint from her white dress.
"Quit whining, it looks better now." Mori joked. Onnarashi was, as her name inplied, feminine. Though Mori found her girly whining abnoxious, Onnarashi was her only 'friend', if that's what you'd call it. Really, she was just the only person in the village that would still pose for her paintings.
"The ball is in three days! I can't go like this!"
"Onnarashi-"
"It's ruined!"
"Onnarashi, it-"
"RUINED!"
"Onnarashi! It's watercolor, just wash it once it dries and it'll come right out. Geez." Mori sighed at her friend's stupidity.
"Oh... of course." Onnarashi laughed.
So there's the first chapter, sorry if it sucked. I'll have the other one up soon, I think.
Gaiaonine people: Quit procrastinating our drawings!!
