AN: Hoy! More Winderwakery goodness from one of the few souls who seems to like the game. This time I'm dealing in psychology: Pathological shopping!

It was as pleasant a night as one could imagine, unfortunately Link couldn't enjoy it. The combination of cool, salty breeze that floated in off the sea and soft moonlight filtering through the cloudy sky calmed his mind and brought him back to his senses just in time to realize what he had done. As he sat atop the great stone arch leading into Windfall Island, surrounded by the fluttering flags he had helped the Joyous Volunteer Association purchase, Link had an endless opportunity to realize what a fool he had been.

To be so thoroughly suckered at an auction, to lose his head like he did... It was shameful! But the rush, the sheer thrill of competing for and winning a prize, of showing his elders how it's done and what a real bidding machine looks like, it was intoxicating. No one could ever believe a little kid like him could be so flush with rupees and Link just adored shocking them time and time again as he walked out the door with the auction goods. It never got old, but this time it seems it got out of control.

With a sigh, the hero reached into his Spoils Bag yet again and drew out his sparkling prize from the night's auction. The jewel glinted in the silvery light. With it's colors muted by the nocturnal dimness it didn't look nearly as gaudy as he was used to. In these conditions it could almost be considered pretty, but it was still so silly. He really should have walked out when he saw what was up for auction, before the first bid was placed and he got caught up in the action, but no. He stayed, and now he was out two hundred and seventy-three rupees.

Link shook his head sadly as he shoved the piece of jewelry back into his bag. He gave two hundred and seventy-three rupees for a Joy Pendant, something he could get half a dozen of for free after a few hours sailing east and some fancy sword work. What was wrong with him?

AN: I hate paying high bids at auction for Joy Pendants, but I do it just so I can get it bought and move on to the next item in the lineup, usually a valuable treasure chart or something. (Except for that one stupid chart that's a chest with one rupee in it...) I imagine Link is never too happy about it either, though he looks like he's having a load of fun while bidding. He practically jumps for joy.
