She couldn't look behind her now. She had made her decision and although she had left them behind, she knew that this was what she needed to do. For all her life she'd been living to serve the needs of others. Now she had to make her own way, for her sake.
What will the future hold, she mused. How long will it be before I feel the urge to return? She knew that she would be welcome should she wish to return to Shiz, but that wasn't the way for her now. Glinda understood why she needed freedom, why she needed to get away from it all.
In her heart she knew that they were there for her, no matter what she chose to do, no matter what her future held.
