Early morning, Allen would've rather been tucked underneath a castle of thick blankets that trapped in a classroom that stank of over boiled vegetables and charcoaled beef.
"Che, Not that I expect a beansprout like you to be able to cook, you could at least hurry up with that carrot" came a distasteful mutter from across from him; jerking the adolescent from his day dreaming. Blinking smoky grey hues a few times a vein appeared over his forehead and in an almost comical manner the snowy haired teen slammed his knife into the chopping board. "The name's Allen!" he retorted with annoyance. "Not Short stack, not Beansprout, Allen!"

Jolting his hand upward, knife in tow Allen barely gave any recognition as he slammed it down once more, cutting through the carrot but narrowly missing his own digits. "Ey, Short Stack, ya might want to watch how you toss that knife around; ya might be leaving here with less of a hand then ya came with", came a chuckle from across their bench, a grinning red head peering back at them his parted hair falling raggedly over one of his emerald hues.
"No one asked for your input, Lavi" the dark haired male replied, leaning over his steaming frying pan only to rapidly pull back; disgust reading his features. Whatever was in the pan, the stench was nauseating.

"I think—you added a little too much barbeque sauce Kanda…" Allen stated, leaning over the pan also and instantly regretting doing so. Feeling the meals he'd devoured early that morning rising to his throat. "I didn't ask for yours either! Stop talking to me" Kanda spat, eye brows fixing together as he returned to rapidly stirring the pot; eyes glinting with rage; ready to lash out at the next person to talk.

Falling silent Allen decided it'd be wiser to return to slicing the carrot rather than facing the intimidating wrath of his cooking partner. The adolescent wouldn't wish Kanda as a cooking partner upon the person he detested the most, he was intolerable, unco-operative and he felt the need to be independent in every aspect of their 'Paired work', It'd become beyond a joke to the point where the white haired male felt as if he was depending on Kanda for everything—And Kanda—Well his cooking as delectable as eating from the garbage would be.
