Escape
This time Dante left him alone the complete next day and also the following morning and this was enough time for Seamus to recover almost his full power inside Ravenwing.
It was around noon when Dante left. In such situation he normally call Seamus out of the sword and tied him to the bed and sometimes he took the weapon, and Seamus inside, with him. But today he has done nothing like that and Seamus doesn´t understand this strange behavior. When he went out Dante has just twisted half around.
"Please do not leave me," he said and then he was gone.
Seamus doesn´t want to run away. Not now, his plan was another.
He sat down in the middle of the room, closed his eyes and concentrated. He felt his mind flowing in search for the well known patterns of Morrigains soul and he found her very fast. She asked him where he was, but he answered evasively. Then he explained succinctly what he was planning, and determined the time. Tonight he wannd try to put a spell on Dante ... a risky plan. Dante was so much better in magic then Seamus. But it was a full moon, perfect.
After the contact was broken, Seamus allowed himself a few minutes of rest. Then he got dressed.
Dante hadn´t even locked the door. Seamus went out as quietly as possible, and made himself invisible.
The luck was on his side. The house has on the backyard a small but surprisingly well-kept garden. There he found his first and most importend indgridient. The little bird, a robin hadn´t even time to panic, so fast Seamus has gripped him and broken his neck. With a shard of mirror that Seamus has brought out of his room he opend the tiny chest and remived the still-warm organs. But not the he wrapped disgusted a piece of cloth around the dead body. To get the other components ,wasn´t quite so simple as this.
Ever since he had come here with Dante, he has looked out on the road underneath the window as much as possible. Many beings who belonged to the world of fairies actually lived here in a human form, adapted to the society and progress. Only when they visited the troll market, they assumed their true form. Nevertheless a kind of "beeing different" was ever left around them and also the humans where able to feel it. As an assurance Seamus had uses a spell. There was a man who walked along the narrow alley next to the house every day at the same time. He was on his way to the small and dirty place where the cabs waiting on customers. And there he stayed many hours, feeding wild cats...probably just to catch and eat them. The man was a Dwellinger. A kind of goblin who lived normally in human household. He was good enough. Seamus found him in an alley. The old man was really schocked when Seamus came out of nowhere, so schocked that he forgot to keep his human form. With a little bit of gold Seamus convinced him to visit the troll market for him and procure all the things he needs. "Make sure, that all things on the list are fresh!"
called Seamus after the Dwellinger, who bore the name Vygr.
Seamus felt like he waited for hours in that alley for Vygr´s return. Again and again he was overcome by the fear that the Dwellinger just has taken the money and left or that Dante returned from his trip before the Dwllinger came back. His anger would be terrible when he found the room empty and Dante just had to take Ravenwing in his hands and call Seamus back.
Dante was very smart, he would know what Seamus planned, when he found the dead bird . After all, it was he who has teached Seamus this special spell.
At this time the spell should help Seamus , when he want´s to escape the importunity of his stepmother.
Shortly thereafter, he and Dante had become a couple.
A noise roused him from his thoughts. One moment Seamus believed that it was Dantes slim silhouette out at the end of the alley, but it was actually Vygr.
"Here, I´ve got everything from your list." He said in his hoarse voice and spat.
"You took quite a long time. Thought you wouldnt come back anymore "Seamus stood up and took the bag from Vygr. He carefully checked the contents. "Whom do you want to fall asleep, babyboy?" asked the Dwellinger. He seemed to be greatly amused. "That's none of your buisness!" Seamus hissed and pushed past Vygr. "Hehe, I see. Your lover is probably a little bit too active, your sweet rosy ass needs a night to rest, eh? "Seamus ignored him and kept walking. Back to the house, back to the room.
He cleared the ground and laid the different herbs from the market and the dead bird on it. Then he moved the massive chest from the wall that was supposed to be a kind of "closet" for the guests. He fished out the streak blond hair. He had cut this from Dantes head a few days ago, when he felt into a deep sleep after they had sex.
Seamus taped it around the small bunch of the marketherbs, then he cut with the broken mirror in his arms and let his blood ran over the herbs. When he thought it was enough, he filled the bouquet in the almost empty body of the robin and the stuffed animal back into the bag. Quite satisfied with his work, he went to the bed, took the pillow and pushed the bag into the cover. * I hope he doesn´t find it *
Now he had to speak only the words. But for that he has to wait.
The waiting tugged at Seamus nerves. There was too much Leprechaun inside him to hold still for long. But if he gets nervous now ... Dante was sharp mind and he knew him too well not to notice that something was going on. So Seamus decided to go back into Ravenwing.
It was already dark when Seamus heard Dante climb the stairs. Even before the blond man entered the room, the Leprechaun positioned on the bed.
"I'm back!" Dante said in a strangely husky voice. He was drunk, Seamus smelled the alcohol. As always stood on Seamus and undressed. Dante shook his head "No, not today."
With a heavy sigh, he sat on the bed. He barely raised his head as Seamus sat down beside him.
"That´s not how I know you," said Seamus and Dante chuckled.
"I didnt know myself anymore," he made a long pause before continuing.
"So much happend. Things I had never planned. "
"What do you mean ? The murder, my kidnapping , this war. Do ya wanna tell me this was just happend in an affect? "Seamus felt the anger rise up, but he swallowed the words he actually wants to say. He pointed to the many half-healed injuries "Are you telling me that that wasn´t your intention?"
Dante looked at him "Yes ... No ... I do not remember, Seamus. See, there's something inside me. Black and evil. And long ago I've lost control over it. "
"All of us have this dilemma inside, Dante. It is part of our nature. It is up to us which path we follow. And it was you who has decided to go to the way of violence "with a swift movement Seamus let himself fall into bed and pulled the covers over his body, his back to the room.
He felt how Dante got undressed and lay down next to him. "There is no salvation for me, Seamus. I'm so sorry. "Dante's voice was barely above a whisper. His arms wrapped around Seamus's torso. Like a child that sought solace from his parents. Seamus swallowed hard and turned to his exlover, pulling him tightly. Dante cried.
It needs some time until reassured Dante and had fallen asleep. And all the while Seamus had repined with himself. Should he really leave Dante , leave him entirely alone with his demons, his madness?
No!
He had to go, even if this pushes Dante finally into the darkness.
Seamus looked at the pale face reddened by tears. Dante, the man whom he had once loved more than anything in the world, the man whom he owed everything . Dante was the one who had picked him up ,half drunken, after he was once more returned with his buddies from a foray into the world of human. After Seamus had run away from his mother, his life was only filled with stealing things, play pranks, and drinking and Dante was the first creature that had dealt seriously with him. He had listened to Seamus endless and whining important experience from this tells. Seamus's father had never recognized his only son, but Dante had spoken to Ilmaris and managed that Seamus got a place in his father palace.
He had never received real love from his father , but he got the post of a commander and even the right to the throne
Seamus on honor ceremony he and Dante had kissed for the first time.
Seamus hadn´t noticed that Dante already doubted with the peace that was based on the fact that Ilmaris becomming a servant of the Thuatha de Dannan and his clan has to give up so much of theire freeness. And when it became apparent , Seamus did get carried away by Dante's flaming words. A huge mistake.
Seamus gently stroked on Dante's hair and kissed him on the forehead "Sleep soundly," he said softly. Dante breathed audibly. The sign that the magic already began to work. If he had done everything right, Dante would sleep until the next evening, and nothing would be able to wake him up.
Cautiously Seamus freed himself from Dante's embrace and stood up. As quietly as possible he got dressed. Then he reached for Ravenwing. At the door he turned back to Dante.
"Farewell," he said softly. Then he opened the door and left.
