Winter. Snow.
Sherlock had always hated snow; it was cold and useless. And besides, Mother and Father never let him outside in the Winter, or practically ever, worried that he would track snow, slush, dirt, water, and god-knows what else in the house.
John, however, loved it. When he was young, all he would do in the winter was go outside, build snowmen and snow forts, and have snowball fights with his sister, Harry.
But they were both grown up now, and their feelings toward the season never changed.
"Come on, Sherlock!"
"No."
"Plea-"
"I said, no, John!"
John pouted. "But, Sherly...-"
"I told you to never call me that!" He hissed. "And, no. We are not going outside in the freezing cold, and that's that."
John pouted some more, and then sighed. He had thought that the old nickname would work on him, but he figured that Mycroft must have teased him far to much with it when he was younger, too much for it to work again after the first time he had used it.
But then, he got an idea.
Walking away, he went to his room and started digging into a box.
"Ah-ha!" He said as he found what he was looking for.
He walked back into the living room with it behind his back, quietly giggling to himself.
"John, what are you doing?"
"Nothing." John said with a smirk, as he lifted the mistletoe above the detective's head.
Sherlock sighed at the army doctor. "What is all this-" he made a gesture towards the plant "-for?"
"Do you know what mistletoe is used for, Sherlock?"
"Of course I do, John. It's a famous holiday plant that enables those under it to-"
He was cut off by the army doctor standing on his tip-toes and pressing his lips against his. Melting into the kiss, he put his arms around John's neck, and sighed.
After a few minutes, the kiss ended with the taller one looking rather sheepish, a slight red color staining his cheeks.
"NOW can we go outside, Sherlock?" John breathed.
A deep sigh. "All right John, for you." He said as he made a grab for his coat and scarf.
The army doctor held a triumphant look and went to look for his winter jacket.
