Note: Since this is being re-written the entire plot changed a bit, Yugi has never met is included. Anzu, Jou and Honda are Yugi's friends. Seto nor Yami or any other characters for that matter, hasn't been introduced yet. I'm sorry if you preferred the previous entries, but I had Writer's block and I need to re-write this.

A few months before the confession

Soft hollow breathing echoed in his ears, he felt faint but still kept running. His striped scarf waving behind him, if it wasn't for his bag, he would've run faster but.."Hey Muto!" he heard Ushio yell. He his behind the corner of a turn, hopefully he won't see him. He covered his mouth and stopped breathing, he heard his footsteps drawing closer and closer...he tightly shut his eyes. Where's the teachers when you needed them!? It went silent, cold sweat dotted his neck; making him shiver. It felt uncomfortable, the silence was suffocating. "Please, please tell me he's gone!" he begged in his mind, he wanted this silence to disappear, hopefully just hopefully, pray that Ushio is gone as well. Slowly, he opened one eye and scanned around. He lowered his hands from his mouth and slowly quietly gaso in a breath, he felt his lungs needed the air. He noticed that he was trembling all this time, Ushio may be strong and a bully for that matter, but he wasn't exactly smart. Or maybe he was. His thought polluted with panic, ''What if was waiting for me to get out of my hiding spot? What if didn't really leave? Oh, man! I wish Jou or Honda was here!"

He decided. He decided, that he was going to make a run for it. A run to his home, the only safest places he can think of. After all, school was nearly over and the teacher's really didn't notice him there. Some teachers, he would mutter to himself lately. The sweat that dotted his body dried up a bit, he began to place himself; ready to run. Silently counting to himself,"Three, Two-" He heard a voice grumble out,"Muto! I know your here!" Deciding not to stay he ran, he heard Ushio's constant shouting. He slammed the front doors open and his feet hit the concrete floor, passing the front gates he heard the school's bell ring behind him; alerting other students that school is over that day. At least a few feet away, he tripped. Luckily, his arms covered his face. This time, he couldn't hold back the tear's that he refused to let them fall earlier, he wished his grandfather was here to help him. Or his friends. Or anyone. Someone, just someone to protect him all the time, he lifted himself up. It was a painful sight to see, too bad his friend's weren't always there for him.

He winced when he lifted his fallen bag, to say he was weak was a bit harsh. He wasn't always weak, but he wasn't that strong either. With all the strength he had earlier vanished, with the loneliness and bullies demeaning him; his happiness and strength faded. He noticed something that was obvious, he was limping. Did I mention earliar that not only his arms broken his fall but his left leg as well? No? Sorry I must've forgotten. Anyways, as he opened the see through doors, he heard the familiar jingle of the Shop's bells. As annoying as it is, the shop needed the alarm for him and his grandfather for customers. Oh, another thing I forgot to mention, his grandfather isn't dead but on a small break in Egypt with his friend. How rude of me to forget all this information! Yugi stared at his picture of him and his parents, why did they had to go? His father abandoned Yugi and his mother, after hearing Masami was pregnant his father didn't plan on having a child. At first it seemed perfectly fine, but soon his business trips seemed more distant than the last.

After a slow agonizing realization, they soon discovered that he left Misami for another woman. A young nurse, Miyuki. Misami was heartbroken, slowly withdrawing from Yugi. Solomon thought it wasn't healthy, ans irresponsible what she wasn't caring for him. She began to yell at Yugi, since he was a spitting image of his father. She would yell things like,"Why would you leave, why?" and other things little Yugi didn't understand, he always loved his mother and never left. After the yelling stopped, she beat him. Out of anger and spite, after the beating she would hug him and cried along with Yugi, she would say that she would never hurt him; but that's what she's been doing. After awhile, Solomon found bruises on Yugi's torso, after a few arguments between a father and daughter; Yugi lived with his grandfather. A week after Yugi started living with Solomon and the day after Yugi's birthday; she committed suicide. Couldn't bear the two men she loved so much, left her. They found many cuts on her wrists, how did they found out? It was better remained a mystery.

Poor, poor Yugi, with chances of happiness slim, he always believed he will make this with the woman he loved. and maybe, just maybe, escape all the sadness he suffered so, by a simple confession. Who knew what would be in store for him in the month of September.

Sorry this is more depressing than the original. The name for Yugi's mother; I checked to see what his mother's name is and when I didn't find she didn't have one I just used her Japanese voice actor's name. Also the character Miyuki is a nurse who Jou fell for in the original (Season 0) Yugioh. Also searching up Yugi's father used the."Business trips" he takes in the anime and used into my advantage. Again, I'm sorry for the real late updates and the fact that this plot will change.
