A/N: Hey there, thanks for reading my fanfic it's my first one up on Fanfiction. I'm making up the story as I go along, but I have a reasonable plot in my notebook so I might stick with that. So..here it is. Please enjoy and review my fanfic, thank you for tolerating my imperfectness in writing. -PumpkinRae
P.S- The Second Chapter might come out later than expected, well the holidays are approaching so I might find the time to write then. :D
Disclaimer- I don't own Harry Potter. JKR owns that and her characters. I only own this fic and my characters.
Chapter 1
The Wake Up Call
Something pawed at my face, it was an unpleasant way to wake up someone.
"Urgh, Crookshanks, stop it." I moaned as I drifted of to sleep again.
He pawed some more.
"Ok, ok, I'll get up. Just...just let me find my slippers.." I sighed at Crookshanks, I guess he was always a reliable kitty.
As I looked out the window, I could see the lake, (home of the giant squid) glistering under the winter sunlight. The song of the morning birds was peaceful and fluent, echoing every inch of my dorm. I shared a room with Lavender "that bitch" Brown, Parvati Patil and once Romilda Vane who recently left to Beauxbatons Academy of Magic where her sister studies. With everyone sleeping, I found the peace I longed for yesterday after Quidditch "victory party" and the sight of Ron snogging his little "LavLav" by the window. I pulled out Hogwarts a History and pulled my blanket up to my waist to keep warm. Just 5 minutes into Chapter 80, there was a light knock on the door. Irritably, I pushed off my blanket and changed into my S.P.E.W sweater and answered the knocking door. I opened the creaking door to find Professor McGonagall standing right outside.
"Good Morning Miss Granger, I came to notify you that breakfast has been pushed forward and is in 10 minutes time. I'd like you to wake up the rest of the girls in your dormitory and get going immediately. You mustn't keep Professor Dumbledore waiting."
Without any further notice she proceeded to the next dorm and repeated the same message to the other students.
I sighed, the last thing I wanted to do this morning was to wake up Lavender Brown, but as prefect I had to do my duty. She resembled her mother, her light brown curls flowing down her red rosy cheeks as she slept. Long lashes, dark as the night sky. She still wore the pink ribbon Ron put in her hair last night, showing no sign of removing the precious memory that it held.
"Lap-ender, Parr-farti." I muffled as I tired my hair up into a ponytail.
"Mmmm-wh..aa..t ?." whined Lavender emerging out under her blanket.
"Wake Up, Professor McGonagall just came by telling me that they decided to move breakfast early by 10 minutes this morning. Don't be late!"
As usual, I was dressed and ready for breakfast before Lavender and Parvati, so I head out to the common room to meet Harry. The hallway was so damn crowded, I couldn't see where he was. Then I recognized a redhead next to a certain yet familiar brown one. Sitting at one end of the mini tea tables in the common room was Harry, reading an old copy of The Daily Prophet. My gaze drifted directly to his left, the last person I wanted to see this morning was there.
Ron Weasley.
