Dan Humphrey hates book parties. He would much rather be at home, write a new novel or play with his 7 year old son Milo. He barely sees Milo these days and it breaks his heart that his son spends more time with the nanny than with his one dad. That's why he's certainly annoyed that his publisher dragged him to yet another book party. He couldn't care less about the hundreds of women wanting him to sign their chest. Dan isn't the One-Night-Stand kind of guy. If he meets a woman that is really worth his love, he stays with her until things just doesn't work out anymore or feelings change.
He is just about to take a sip from his drink when he sees her standing at the bar, talking to the man behind it.
Wow.
Long blonde hair, an angelic face with piercing blue eyes and soft lips. Her short golden dress reveals her endless legs. She must be the most beautiful woman he has ever seen in his entire life, and he has seen a lot of women. There's something about her that makes her mysteriously and interesting. It makes her different compared to all the other women in the room and suddenly he's grateful that his publisher had dragged him here.
He briefly looks around to check that there's no date hanging around her, but her blue eyes remain fixed on him, like a siren calling him in as she takes a sip from her Champagne Flute.
Dan drinks her in, memorizes every single part of her body. He watches her tilting her head back more than necessary, which reveals her exposed neck and her soft lips are basically begging him to meet his own.
He realizes how he's been staring at her for the past five minutes and slowly grabs his glass to cross the room, making himself a way through the hundreds of people talking about his new book and god knows what.
The woman smiles to herself and, for the first time, looks away to set her own glass down. He's briefly distracted by a hysterical fan, but he escapes from that quickly and finds that the woman has turned her gaze back at him, glancing at him with raised eyebrows. He almost finds himself in a puddle from that heated look alone.
Finally arriving at the bar he puts his glass next to hers and turns around to her. "What is a beautiful woman like you doing all alone on a book party like this?" he asks with a flirty voice, one arm leaned against the bar.
"Curiousity killed the cat," she replies with a smirk and takes a sip of her Champagne.
Oh, so that is how it works. She likes to keep herself secretive and mysterious.
Dan raises his eyebrow at her and sits down, his eyes are still locked with hers. "Do I at least get to know your name?"
The woman tosses her hair over one shoulder and turns to him with a wicked grin, her hand landing on his tigh which causes him to jump. She seems to be the queen of flirtation.
"My name's Serena. Though I don't have to ask what your name is, do I Dan Humphrey?" She laughs throatily around his name.
His chest puffs with pride at the fact that she knows who he is. His eyes wander to her lips and he bites his own, wondering what it feels like to touch them. Wondering what it feels like to touch her. Touch every single part of her body. What it feels like to kiss every part of her body.
"A fan, huh?" he asks with a grin, watching her hand move up his tigh. His breath quickens and he tries to calm down, but it seems to be impossible with a woman like that sitting right next to him.
The woman - Serena - eyes his every reaction to her touch and shrugs slightly. "Maybe."
"Hot in here," he comments, letting his hand fall to the hemeline of her dress, wandering his fingers up her tigh just like she did a few seconds ago.
Serena hums in approval and gets up from her chair. "I have a copy of your book in my car, would you like to come with me and sign it?" she asks seductively, looking at him from under her eyelashes.
Well, she's eager, but knows exactly what she wants. He can't believe his luck.
Without answering her he gets up as well and links their hands together. He tugs her through crowds of people, weaving and ducking, trying to avoid the glare of his publisher that he knows he'll receive because he's only been here for ten minutes and he's already running off again.
Dan turns to face Serena behind him to joke about it, but finds that she's hidden herself behind her blonde hair, eyes trained on the floor as she follows him. That's...strange. But he doesn't say anything, instead leads them out of the back door and into an alley, startled by the cold air that hits his face and raises goosebumps on his arms.
But Serena is right there, smoothing her hands across his shoulder blades and pressing her body flush against his, nipping his chin playfully. "My car is parked just around the corner, but I think we could do without the book for a little while," she whispers with a smirk and tugs him towards her, back hitting the damp wall and her piercing blue eyes are shining brightly, even in the shadows of the alley.
His mouth opens to say something, but then her tongue is in his mouth and she's hoisting herself up onto his body and all coherent thought leaves his mind.
He groans into her kiss, hands trailing up her legs, up, up, up until his fingers sneak beneath the skirt of her dress and she gasps, fingers twisting his hair tightly.
"Dan," she breathes into his mouth and he nips on her bottom lip before diverting his attention to her neck.
He's vaguely aware of the pain at the back of his head, but then everything is black.
