Chapter One
Team Twelve
A/N: Another day, another chapter of this story. With the impending threat of Hurricane Sandy knocking out the power I will try to get this chapter out as soon as possible. I wanted to point out that I made one fatal mistake in the first chapter but I do not want to go back and change it for it causes too much time to be lost. The mistake is this:
There are 18 Rookies, not 12. Ages don't matter really because they all more or less grew up together so they are already friends before the story begins. They just have their own groups of best friends, lol.
So, with that, we'll begin the story as our Genin begin the new day... Their first day as Genin.
The Next Day, Konoha Ninja Academy Class I-6...
Nikorasu walked into class, yawning as he had gotten up a little later than usual. Taking his usual place between Ichigo and Tsukina, the latter patted him on the back. "Come on, Niko. Wake up. Its Team Assignment Day!" She said excitedly.
Nikorasu only groaned in protest and put his head down on the desk facing her. "Sorry. I couldn't sleep. Too excited about today, I guess."
"Aww, Niko," Tsukina said and pressed a kiss on his cheek, Nikorasu too tired to respond. "You'll be able to sleep once everything today is said and done."
"Tsuki, stop it. Leave Nick alone. And whats with all the kissing? You two aren't together or anything, right?" Tsukina shook her head no. "Then there's really no need for it. Plus, we have to focus, especially if we aren't put on the same team. Because we work so well together and if we're not on the same team, then we have to focus on our new comrades for a bit instead of the others sitting here at this table."
Nick, who also knew Ichigo was the slightest bit jealous that Tsukina had kissed him, had nodded off to sleep on the desk and muttered a drowsy. "He's right. We have... to focus... on our teams if... we're separated." He then proceeded to let out a loud snore, with which a spark of electricity was released into the classroom, making several other students' hair stand on end in comical ways.
Tsukina just smiled before sighing. "Fine, I'll stop until something is made official," Tsukina smiled a hopeful smile before continuing. "And you don't know. We may still end up on the same team after all and, finally, here comes Iruka-sensei." She said as Iruka walked into the room.
"Sorry I'm late. I decided to help the Hokage with something and then got caught up in an argument between him and his wife. I only was just able to get away to come in." He laughed awkwardly before sitting behind his desk. "Alright, now for Team Assignment. Team Seven will consist of Itachi Uchiha, Rika Inuzuka and Kyoya Chizawa, under the tutelage of Kakashi Hatake."
The three students called out shifted their seats to be sitting together, to keep the chaos when they left the Academy that day from getting too bad. Iruka continued. "Team Eight will be taught by Kurenai Yuuhi, and will consist of Chojuro Akimichi, Inokai Uchiha and Karai Nara, or the new generation of the Ino-Shika-Cho Trio," The new trio stayed where they were, sitting together as always. "Team Nine will be taught by Rock Lee, and I wish you luck with dealing with his energetic nature. Who I mean is Chihiro Aburame, Tsubaki Uzumaki and Kiri Inuzuka." The Inuzuka, Aburame and Uzumaki moved about.
"Onto Team Ten. Azula Hatake, Jiraiya Namikaze and Takato Inuzuka, you will be shown the ways of the ninja by Shikamaru Nara. Team Eleven will be Ino Yamanaka's group and will consist of Ryu Kuroki, Ayame Hyuga and Kushina Namikaze." As the groups moved around, Nikorasu had woken up and been listening as he saw how everyone had moved about except for the new Team Eight. He saw that indeed, it looked like himself, Tsukina and Ichigo were to be together on a Team, but he couldn't be sure as to their sensei as of yet.
"The final team is Team Twelve, lead by Anko Mitarashi," Nikorasu's eyes widened while Ichigo banged his head onto the desk several times and Tsukina looked a little scared because of the mentioning of the very crazy, somewhat sadistic Jonin. "And will consist of Ichigo Terumi, Nikorasu Uzumaki and Tsukina Shirayuki. Now, you all wait here for your respective Jonin sensei to come in and gather you. I'll be seeing you all around the Village. Bye now." Iruka just used the Body Flicker Technique to escape the ensuing bit of chaos in his classroom.
Nikorasu was finally able to talk. "We're all dead. We are all fucking dead!" He ran around the room, actually managing to stay up on the ceiling and curl up into the fetal position, tears raining down on several classmates.
"Nikorasu Uzumaki, stop crying! It's weird enough you're just staying up there on the ceiling without the waterworks. Just calm down, anyway. What are you so worried about?!" Shouted Itachi.
"Don't you know who Anko Mitarashi is? Former apprentice of Orochimaru, only other one other than your dad to use the Snake Summoning Contract and sadistic queen of Konoha?! Don't believe me that she's that bad? Ask your father and the Hokage. They can testify it with me."
Itachi scoffed. "Whatever, just calm down and get back down here. Go to your girl for comfort." This made several other students shake their heads. Itachi and Nikorasu had a sort of rivalry, and Itachi's teasing, however rare it may actually be, it always set Nick off in some way.
"She's not my girl, Itachi. Tsukina is my best friend, and no one can replace her, but she isn't my girl." Nikorasu shared a single glance with Tsukina, passing the silent message everyone in class would be able to tell was not yet, at least.
"Well whatever just get down and be ready for your sensei. Even if she's crazy, you gotta deal with it." Itachi said, making his point.
Nikorasu reluctantly dropped down and landed silently on the floor of the classroom, going back to sit at the desk with his friends and teammates. Soon, a guy with odd, pineapple-shaped brown hair and an unlit cigarette in his mouth entered the room. He smiled and nodded at Karai's wave and spoke "Alright, Team Ten come with me. We're going to Training Ground Fifteen." Azula, Jiraiya and Takato got up and followed their sensei out of the classroom.
After another few minutes, the legendary Kakashi Hatake entered the room, surprising everyone by not being late for once. He made a smile-indentation in his face mask and single showing eye. "Alright, you all know who I am. Team Seven come with me, that means Itachi Uchiha, Rika Inuzuka and Kyoya Chizawa. Or you can all just meet me at Training Ground Seven. See you there." He Flickered out with the new Team Seven running out after him.
Next came a guy with a bowl haircut and wearing a green suit that looked like spandex. "My name is Rock Lee! Chihiro Aburame, Tsubaki Uzumaki and Kiri Inuzuka, please come with me to begin training with the power of Youth." Again, the new Team had to run after their sensei, who had run all too fast out of the room for them to even begin standing up out of their seats. Nikorasu and Ichigo laughed at the different sensei and their actions.
The next sensei to enter was a beautiful woman with strangely mesmerizing red eyes. "My name is Kurenai Yuuhi. Will Team Eight please follow me to our Training Ground?" She waited for Chojuro, Inokai and Karai to get up and follow her out of the room.
Soon after came Ino Uchiha, Itachi and Inokai's mother and the Sensei of Team Eleven, not to mention Assistant Head of the Konoha Medical Corps. Under Sakura Namikaze. "Alright guys, I'm here for Ryu Kuroki, Ayame Hyuga and Kushina Namikaze. I have to go somewhere, but please meet me at my family's flower shop, and I do mean the Yamanaka family." She gave a chuckle before she left the room and used Body Flicker.
Now, only Team Twelve were waiting for their sensei. It wasn't like Anko to be late, all three of them knew that. So where was Anko Mitarashi now? Suddenly, what seemed like a giant brown ball of... something flew into the classroom through the window. In their surprise, Nikorasu, Ichigo and Tsukina watched as the ball turned into their sensei, her purple hair strangely in a similar shape as Shikamaru's. "Alright, brats. Let's see who we got here," She said, examining the three students left. "Alright, we've got the only Ice-Style user in the year, the Mizukage's own nephew and the mystery child of the Uzumaki Clan... I say we've got a pretty powerful team right now, even without going too much farther. So, who's ready for our first day together?" The three just looked at her, eyes slightly widened in fear. "Don't look so scared, kiddies. I'm taking you out for dango as we get to know each other, that's all. Now come on, or you don't get dango." After hearing the delicious treats' name, the three were on their feet instantly and followed their sensei to Dango Paradise, Anko's favorite dango restaurant.
When they got there, Anko sat the trio down at a very isolated table and went to order some dango for all of them. When she came back, she placed a plate of dango sticks in front of each of her Genin and sat herself down. "Alright, brats. Now this is how we're gonna do this. I want all three of you, since you already know so much about me because I'm not the most unknown person in the Village, to tell me the basics, like your name, likes, hobbies, dislikes, and what abilities you have in combat already. Got it?" All three nodded. "Good. Now, ladies first." She motioned to Tsukina.
Tsukina took a deep breath. "I'm Tsukina Shirayuki. I like ramen, dango, my friends and family and..." She glanced over at Nikorasu and back just as quickly before continuing. "Well, yeah. I don't like people who hate on others and those who abandon their comrades. I usually go training by myself before dawn and just after sunset to hone my skills or I sit down reading a book. In combat, I'm a powerful Ice-Style user and can use several Jutsu that even my family doesn't realize I know. I'm also skilled in Genjutsu and I'm not too bad in Taijutsu either."
Anko nodded, biting another dango. "Alright, Terumi, you're up."
Ichigo took a moment to swallow the mouthful of dango he had still been chewing on and took a sip of water. "My name is Ichigo Terumi. I like ramen, warm weather and birds. I dislike the cold and Itachi Uchiha, because he's a jerk. He stole my ice cream when we were younger," At this everyone present chuckled. "I hang out with Nick and Tsukina when I'm not at home training or in the library learning the history of the Five Great Elemental Nations. In battle I can use my Lava Style to burn the competition and Seals to enhance my body. I'm also highly skilled in Taijutsu by training with Ryu, Lee-sensei's son."
"Pretty impressive. Alright, Uzumaki, impress me."
Nikorasu was taken aback by Anko's statement for a second before he jumped right in. "My name is Nikorasu Uzumaki, more commonly called Nick. I love ramen, Konoha and my adoptive parents Hokage and Dr. Namikaze, as well as all my friends. I don't like being alone, because I was alone until the Hokage found me and took me in. I have many skills in combat. I can use a sword, as can my comrades and teammates, I use Lightning, Wind and my own Static Styles. Static is more for paralyzing my opponents but I created a couple S-Rank Jutsu that can mortally wound or even kill them as well. I am also highly skilled in Taijutsu, Seals and my Genjutsu is on par with Dr. Namikaze. I am also a member of the Dragon Summoning Contract and because they're lenient and friendly with them I also signed the Toad Contract. I have summoned both bosses Azulong and Gamakichi, but prefer the lower Summons because they take less of a toll on my Chakra. So? Impressed?" Nikorasu smirked at Anko, whose eyes were wide from the list of skills.
"Alright, I'm pretty impressed. Just don't show off in training. Just because you have a lot of power like your pseudo-parents doesn't mean you can go up against S-Rank Missing-nin by yourself. And our training will help you get more powerful. But, as you all know and are probably dreading, we start out with D-Rank Missions tomorrow, so be ready for household chores... and Cat rescue. You're dismissed for today, meet me at the Hokage Building tomorrow." Nodding, the three Genin bowed to their sensei and left the restaurant.
As they began walking to their respective houses, Tsukina smacked Nick upside the head. "What was all that, you baka?! Just because you can show off doesn't mean you should."
"I know, but she said impress me, so I impressed. I mean come on, the Dragon Contract? That Summon was thought to be lost hundreds of years ago and I have it. That comes with bragging rights in itself." Come on, I'll treat you guys to ramen before we all head home? Or did you stuff your face enough, Ichi?"
Ichigo laughed. "I would say I'd come but I can't. The family wants me home. Auntie's coming to town for a few days and to celebrate her coming and my graduation, she's taking us to that BBQ place. So I'll see you guys tomorrow." Ichigo left the other two.
"So, do you want to go or are you really mad at me?" Nikorasu asked carefully.
"I would but you know how tonight would go. Plus, aren't the Hokage and his wife throwing you a party along with their own kids? You are basically a part of the family. You should go be part of the party. We'll go for ramen another time, 'kay Niko?"
Nick sighed. "Alright. I'll see you tomorrow then. Night, Tsuki." The two hugged before parting ways, Nick making his way to the Namikaze estate while Tsukina moved the other way to her parents' house.
A/N: I changed the story a bit, Nikorasu is moving into the Namikaze Compound in this chapter instead of upon reaching Chunin because now Naruto can keep an eye on him, being one of only three living Uzumaki Clam members and wanting to protect his family, no matter how distantly they're related. Instead, upon reaching Chunin
Namikaze Estate...
Nikorasu walked into the Estate to be greeted by the Namikaze children. Jiraiya and Kushina hugged their relative. "Welcome home, brother!" Jiraiya exclaimed.
"Now you can truly be part of the family. We know you never had any parents growing up, and that mom and dad are basically you're parents at that point, but we're happy to have you here. We weren't expecting you back for a while longer though. Why so early?" Kushina asked, smiling.
"Well I invited Tsukina and Ichigo to ramen after meeting with Anko-sensei but they denied because their families were celebrating too so we just parted ways and put the celebratory ramen on hold for a bit. And thanks guys, I appreciate being welcomed into the family. You, your parents and Aunt Karin and Uncle Sai are the only ones I can consider my family. So where are your mom and dad?"
"Well, we don't really know. They left a while ago to get something apparently for you. I guess we'll see what's up when they get home. I'm sure they have some big surprise for you. Oh, Jiraiya, show Niko to his room. Mom and I went to get all your stuff and moved it into your room already, we left the clothes in piles in front of your dresser so you can organize that and the other small stuff too. So go see your room and unpack and hopefully mom and dad will be back home by the time you're done."
Nodding, Nick smiled again and followed Jiraiya to one of the many bedroom in the main building of the Namikaze compound. Opening the door, Nikorasu was surprised at the detail. The walls were a deep navy blue with neon green swirls and on one wall there was a stenciled Dragon done in blood red. There was a simple full-sized bed with the headboard leaning on one wall, a dresser across the room from it, an end table next to either side of the bed, and a large window overlooking the outer buildings of the Namikaze Compound and some of Konoha. Taking off Kyubi, Nick laid the katana next to one end table and turned to Jiraiya. "Thanks for bringing me up here. And I'll come get the two of you when I'm done unpacking. I won't be long, I can use Shadow Clones you know haha. I'll see you both in a bit." Nodding, Jiraiya left the room to rejoin his sister as Nick made a hand-sign and summoned two Shadow Clones. "alright, both of you start unpacking the boxes by the window and the ones by the door. I'll take care of the clothes." The clones made their respective ways towards the boxes mentioned and Nikorasu began placing clothes in the dresser drawers, sorting them neatly into nightwear, shirts, pants and underwear and putting them into their respective drawers.
After a short while, Nikorasu had finished and dispelled the Shadow Clones. Deciding he felt filthy even after nothing happening for the day, he made his way to the separate bathroom his bedroom had, as each other bedroom did as well; to take a shower. Stepping back out after little more than ten minutes, Nikorasu was now dressed in his evening clothes, which were pajama pants embroidered with foxes, dragons and flames and a plain black t-shirt. Hearing multiple voices from other locations inside the sprawling mansion of a home, Nick made his way downstairs where Kushina and Jiraiya were talking animatedly with their parents. Hearing Nikorasu's entrance into the room, Naruto turned around and smiled his huge grin at the younger Uzumaki. "There he is! Do you like the room, Nick?" He asked, motioning him closer to the rest of the extended family.
"Yes, I do. Thank you, Uncle," Nick smiled and bowed respectfully. "I hear you have a surprise for me as well? Might I inquire as to what it is?"
"Don't talk older than your years, it honestly scares me. But yes, me and Sakura have something to tell everyone," He took a breath before continuing. "We'll be welcoming a new addition to the family soon," He paused to let his words sink in.
Kushina, having her mothers attitude about sudden surprises, shouted. "What?! Me and Jiraiya are going to have a baby brother or sister?" Naruto nodded, unable to hide the bigger smile.
"Congratulations, mom, dad. So, what are we gonna call the little one? Have you decided on any names yet?" Jiraiya asked.
"Well, if the baby is a boy, we're gonna name him after my father, since you were named after my teacher and godfather. If it's a girl, we were going to name her Tsunade after your grandmother (because she's basically family to Naruto and Sakura anyway). And Nikorasu, as one of the newer members of the family, is to be named the child godfather, because I know Nick will do anything for any of us, and He just happens to have the same nature I had as a young Ninja: overprotective of family and friends."
Nick's jaw dropped as he struggled to find the right words to express his feelings. Figuring them out, he spoke his mind. "Thank you, Uncle Naruto and Aunt Sakura. I accept my role as the child's godfather with the greatest respect," Tears began welling up in his eyes and Kushina, Jiraiya, Sakura and Naruto all embraced him as a family that would only be growing in the future.
A/N: Finally done lol. Can't believe it took so long but since it's done it's done. Now I can finally get on with this goddamn story. Unfortunately, no more writing this for tonight because it's Moonday, which means Teen Wolf. And the identity of the killer killing citizens in Beacon Hills will be revealed. Until next time.
