Star Wars: Untold horrors

Chapter 1: Threats old and new

Dunali Republic Transport ships 30 minutes to Outpost 3242 1034 hours

Mila stood quietly in the troop bay of the Republic transport waiting for it to land . For most of the journey from the temple to Dunali, she had been unable to do anything save practice and meditate. Most of the troopers had given her a wide berth, trusting her about as much as a Toidarian merchant. Now she couldn't wait to get off the ship and stretch her legs. Her thoughts now strayed to the mission at hand.

Outpost 3242 was an early warning station between Republic and Imperial space. Two weeks ago, the station had gone silent. While the Republic navy and Jedi council thought that the outpost's silence was due to interference or extremists, Republic intelligence thought that there was something much more sinister. That was why an intelligence operative sat in silence at the back of the transport, sticking to the shadows.

The troopers busied themselves with preparations for when they landed. The CO was a fresh faced lieutenant strait out of the OTS. Next to him was one of the two ranking noncommissioned officers. Both NCO's had several campaigns under their belts against the Mandolorians and the Empire. SSgt Froman wore pot marked armor with a blue decals. Leaning against his leg was a blaster carbine with a taped magazine for a quick reload. The other noncom, a gruff, well-built woman only known as Sarge. She carried a few knifes and a pair of pistols. She was currently berating a young girl with orange hair, named Private Millisa Sanders. Private Sanders was as lazy, unkempt soldier who on more than one occasion had refused the orders of Sarge. The rest of the two squads were a motley group of several species.

After a long trip, the ship finally landed on the roof the outpost. As soon as the troop bay opened, the troopers rushed onto the platform, weapons raised. The Jedi, the lieutenant and the spook soon followed, outwardly appearing calm. Sarge immediately took two troopers and made for the door that led into the outpost. However, it was welded shut from the inside.

Master Ifain soon joined them and, drawing his lightsaber, cut the door open. On the other side of the door several crates blocked the hallway. The two Jedi immediately used the force to move the crates aside. Once the last was crate was out of the way, the troopers moved through the halls. All was quiet, giving the outpost a dark feeling to it. Any sudden noise made the troopers jump.

Suddenly a blaster discharged, causing everyone to spin around at look at the trooper holding the offending weapon. The young man nervously looked around at the rest of the group before Sarge descended upon him and gave him a fierce yet quiet chewing out.
