Sydney sat quietly in bed, while Riley finished get ready in the bathroom. Every few minutes, she would glance over at her bag on the chair near the wall, which held the two positive tests.

"So tomorrow, I was thinking we could head out and get those flowers you wanted," Riley said, turning the light off in the bathroom. "And maybe get a few pumpkins?"

"That sounds good," she said quietly, as he pulled the blankets down on his side of the bed.

Riley nodded, "Are you okay, Syd?" he asked, sitting down. "You were really quite tonight at dinner."

She looked at him and nodded, "Just tired is all," she said, giving him a small smile.

"Well, tomorrow we'll sleep in," Riley nodded, climbing under the blankets.

"We always sleep in," she giggled, watching as he set his glasses on the nightstand. "Or you do at least."

Riley snorted, "But we haven't slept in together since after our honeymoon," he said, turning the lamp off. "And that was six months ago."

Sydney fell silent, reminiscing on their two-week trip to the English countryside. The cozy little cottage just on the outskirts of Hampshire, which they saw more of instead of the city and various hot spots. Mornings were spent lying in, after staying up all night, celebrating the title of newlyweds; a day trip to Jane Austen's House Museum and various other touristy areas were a must, as Sydney dragged her grumbling husband around Hampshire. By the end of their vacation, they went from Hampshire to London, visiting the big touristy areas and sending loads of pictures to Ben, Abigail and their families.

"Well, I guess we'll have to do that more often," Sydney shrugged, leaning forwards to kiss him. "Goodnight."

Settling down under the blankets, Sydney rolled onto her side, giving Riley the chance to pull her against him; to which he did every night as they were falling asleep. Once his arm was securely around her waist, his body heat radiating off and onto her, Sydney fell asleep; dreaming of nothing but babies and carriages.

…..

"How many pumpkins are you putting outside?" Riley asked, as Sydney placed another pumpkin into the cart. "No one will see them from our deck, Syd."

"I want to carve one and put it in the window!" she pouted, brushing her hands against her jeans. "Plus, we have that empty space on the hall table that I want to decorate!"

He sighed, "Oh my god," he shook his head. "Okay, fine. Just don't get too crazy with all the flowers and stuff."

Sydney rolled her eyes, "You were the one that suggested we actually come out and buy this stuff!"

"I didn't think you would buy five pumpkins and six pots of mums!" he exclaimed, pointing to the things in the cart.

"You're being mean," she said, before turning on her heel to walk away.

Riley sighed and quickly followed her, keeping his mouth shut for the rest of their time at the nursery. When they paid and loaded the back of the car up with their flowers and pumpkins, they returned back to the townhouse for lunch.

"When did you want to start carving those things?" Riley asked, as they set the table. "I could go back out and get the carving kit thing."

"Maybe tomorrow?" Sydney shrugged. "I'm not sure what I want to carve on them exactly."

They finished preparing their sandwiches in silence, before moving to the table to sit and eat.

"I'm sorry for being a jerk earlier," Riley said, as they ate.

"It's okay," Sydney nodded, setting her cup down.

Riley watched as she picked at her food, "You seem upset now," he noted. "What's going on?"

She sighed, "Sydney…" Riley started.

"I'm pregnant."

He blinked, "What?" he asked, as Sydney watched him carefully.

"I'm pregnant, Riley," she repeated, before standing to get her bag. "Last night, I took these with Abigail and they both came back positive…."

Taking the two tests out of her bag, Sydney placed them down on the table between their plates and watched, as Riley picked them up. Studying them closely, Riley sat in complete silence, while Sydney stood before him. When he didn't say anything after a few seconds, she began to panic.

"I mean, I still have to go to the doctor to get the full confirmation…" she shrugged. "But the symptoms do fit the equation."

"You're pregnant," he finally spoke, holding a test in each hand. "There's an actual baby in there?"

Sydney paused and watched as he looked up at her, "Well, I would hope that it's a baby," she said slowly. "Otherwise, it better be a Vulcan and not some creepy looking alien."

Riley blinked, "Holy shit," he murmured. "Holy shit!"

"O…..kay," she nodded, moving closer to him, resting her hands on his shoulders. "There's a high chance that I am pregnant, so please don't freak out until I know for sure."

"How far along do you think you might be?" he asked, setting the tests down on the table.

Sydney folded her arms against her torso, "I'm late by two months," she said, with a sigh. "I'm thinking it happened during our weekend trip upstate.."

He nodded, "When we went up to Sleepy Hallow and spent the night at that bed and breakfast," he said, which made her blush. "Oh god, what if we're having a mini- headless horseman baby?"

"Riley!" she scolded, whacking him on the arm. "That's not funny!"

He snickered, pulling her closer to him, so that she could sit on his lap. "Would you be upset if you were pregnant?" he asked, as Sydney wrapped her arms around his neck.

"No," she admitted, shaking her head. "I mean, I would've hoped to make it to our first anniversary, before getting knocked up.."

Riley kissed her cheek, "I think it's great," he shrugged.

Sydney frowned, "Y-you think it's great?" she asked, as he nodded. "The man who freaked out when I bought a pair of riding boots that were over eighty bucks thinks it's great that I'm possibly pregnant."

"Well, I mean, you're my wife and we want kids," he frowned. "Granted, we've only been married for six months, but we've been together for a long time."

She nodded, "I mean, I'm sure I'll start freaking out when we get a confirmation," he continued. "But we'll be fine, Syd."

"This really wasn't the reaction I was expecting," Sydney said, sighing. "I pictured you either fainting or rattling off statistics about why it's too early for us to have a baby."

"I didn't really expect to react this calmly either," he shrugged. "I remember when Ben and Abby announced that they were pregnant and how I tried to imagine how that moment would be like for us."

Sydney giggled, "And how did it go?" she asked, resting against his chest.

"Well," he sighed, wrapping his arm around her waist. "I would've gotten really nervous, rattle off some stats and faint."

"Dork," Sydney snorted, tucking her face into the crook of his shoulder. "I'll call the doctor tomorrow and I'll make the appointment."

He nodded, "But can we at least celebrate?" he asked. "I know you want the real deal announcement from the doctor, but you've been off for the last few weeks. Jelly beans and blue cheese dressing? You'd never eat those things, unless the world was ending."

His wife sighed, "Don't remind me," she muttered. "I hate blue cheese. It taste's like dirty feet."

"And you haven't really been that moody when it comes to the other thing," Riley shrugged, uncomfortable about the "P" word. "Which has been really nice by the way."

"No, but it'll get worse if I am pregnant," she said, looking up at him. "All those hormones and the physical strain of carrying a bowling ball around for nine months."

Riley nodded, "But we have a long way to go," he said, patting her leg gently. "Let's clean this up and lay down for a bit. You look exhausted, Syd."

Nodding, Sydney stood up and helped with the cups and plates, wrapping the remains of their lunch up for later. Once everything was cleared away, the couple made their way upstairs and quickly changed out of their clothes.

"Celebratory nap," Sydney yawned, as she fixed the drawstring of her sweatpants. "This is a first."

"I figured we could do the real celebrating later tonight," said Riley, as he pulled the blinds down. "Unless you want to wait until we see the doctor."

Climbing under the heavy comforter, Sydney yawned. "Pass up on sex?" she snorted. "Yeah right!"

Once Riley was in bed and under the blankets with her, Sydney was already on her way to dreamland. There was no doubt in her mind that she was pregnant, despite her need for concrete proof. The last thing she wanted, was to get her's and Riley's hopes up for a baby, especially if she ended up not being pregnant. But with all the symptoms, it would be a real shock if she wasn't pregnant.

"Hm, I'll have to install a security system," Riley mumbled, breaking her out of her thoughts. "God forbid any crazy, treasure seeking psychos, come after our baby for whatever reason."

"No one would go after us," Sydney sighed, tucking her face into the pillow. "Ben's the one that jumps first at any chance of finding treasure. Our baby won't go into that profession."

Riley chuckled, "Unless he or she is bribed by Ben," he pointed out, before yawning.

Sydney hummed in agreement, her eyes slipping shut in the process, as exhaustion finally won its battle.
