Rose watched the Doctor.

She watched those care-worn lines, etched deep into his face.

She watched him frown, then grin, then frown again.

She watched those deep wells of eyes - only hinting at the intensity of the emotions hidden in the depths of his tortured mind - glance over the TARDIS controls.

Rose felt a sense of protectivity...one that she'd never felt before.

Sure Mickey made her feel like a mother-hen - but Mickey wasn't vulnerable.

Vulnerable? Yes. That was the perfect word to describe her Doctor.

Wait...her Doctor?

He wasn't her Doctor, was he?

As if he felt her gaze upon him, he glanced up, and smiled his mischievous smile.

"The TARDIS is working fine...and we're gonna go to..." he stopped, "well, where do you want to go to?" he laughed.

"Anywhere!" Rose grinned back, ignoring the voice in the back of her mind that was

saying "Anywhere with you..."
